Chapter Fourteen: New Home

Agent 11

When I was woken up, I noticed that there were loud noises outside. I sat up sleepily, stood up, and winced at the dull throb in my leg.

Stumbling outside, I saw that everyone was packing up the tents and preparing to leave. Quickly, I got dressed, put on my shoes, collected my belongings, and went to find The A-Team. It was still early, and my eyes were tired, but I was excited all the same. We'd decided to move to the new location, and set up camp there until the supplies for the new city were delivered. Finally, I spotted my friends, and walked up to them. "11, you're awake!" Sam greeted me with a broad smile. "Good morning. Is everyone ready to go?" I asked. She nodded. "Almost. The medical tents are taking a bit longer to pack than we assumed they would, since we had to unpackage some equipment to treat yesterday's injuries."

Blake called me over to help organize everything, and I lost track of time as we packed up, left, and walked until we arrived. It was similar to the Twin Cliffs, with a mountain with a large slice down the middle, about three miles wide. We started unpacking, and settled in to our new home. I stood near the entrance, watching everyone, and eventually Blake joined me.

I wondered how long it would take to rebuild the city. However long, at least we now had an advantage. We knew where Counterattack's base was, but they didn't know where we were. I turned around to see everyone setting up tents. My eyes were drawn to two giant tents that were actually little ones sewn together. A bunch of other fabric cabins had been set up close by. Those were all normal sized, unlike the somewhat grotesque contraptions standing out like a black sheep in a herd of white. The two of them, I noticed, set up next to each other. Ryan was being 'helped' by Lucy, who gave him a tent pole as a cane, as if that would do anything. I wondered who she had stolen it from. "Blake, why are there two large tents?"

Humor laced his tone as he replied. "Lu wanted us to all sleep in the same house, even though this obviously is a temporary setup. And since Ryan has a broken leg, he'll have to sleep in the medical tent. That's why she set up ours next to it. There's one thing you learn in Allegiance, it's that the A-Team sticks together." I paused as the information sunk in. "Ryan and Ash are joining the A-Team so soon?" Blake nodded, eyes fixed on the giant tents.

I smiled, looking at the people I'd known forever, and felt happy. Counterattack couldn't take away my family. We didn't allow it. I looked around at the others. Michael was complaining about a missing tent pole as he attempted to help set up the smaller ones. Lucy heard, and smirked before looking away innocently. Ash was basically mother-henning Ryan, asking if he was alright about a hundred times. Sam was assisting the younger agents who were struggling with their tents. Blake was next to me, holding my hand in a show of support. Myself, with warmth and joy in every fiber of my body. I had plans for this place already. We would defeat Counterattack here. Me, The A-Team, all of Allegiance, and my new friends.

The End

An Authors note?!? *shocked noises*
Anyway, this is Agent 11. I started this book almost two years ago, and I'm so proud of how far it's come! I do have plans for a sequel, but it's nowhere close to being finished :|
Moving on, I'm actually going to try to publish this, so if you see 'AGENT 11' in a bookstore, I guess I succeeded. Thank you for reading this, and have a fantastic day! <3
