Ian: You like making people's life miserable, right? I like it when I see you miserable. I remember how your parents made my life miserable by making me watch my father's death! I will never forgive you. I like to see that pain, that misery in your eyes when you lose the one you love the most.

The hard slap fell on Ian's cheek.
Ryan: You motherf*cker! What did you do to Kai?! Answer me!

Mark: Leave him. I'll handle him.

Saying this, Maverick took out his gun and pointed it at Ian.
Laura: Williams, please don't do that. You need to listen to Jessica.

Jessica had just entered the yard of Ian's house when Ryan took out his gun and without wasting a second, shot Ian. Jessica reached the door of the house and heard an ear-splitting scream. Jessica entered and saw Laura looking at the man standing right in front of her. Ian fell on Jessica's shoulder. Jessica held him tightly and sat down. Jessica's eyes widened.

Ian: No, Maverick Williams didn't shoot me. It was Ryan Scott.

Jessica frowned. She squinted her eyes with a disapproving look on her face.

Jessica: What?

Laura: I was trying to say this to you since the beginning but you cut me off every time I tried to. You're getting it wrong, Jess. Williams didn't do anything.

Jessica: But he doubted you. He didn't listen to me.

Ian: Jessica, you need to talk with Williams. I'm fine. Don't worry about me. You need to think about Kai.

Jessica took Ian's right hand.
Jessica: I'm sorry, Ian. You had to suffer this because of me, because of my husband.

Laura: Jessica, please. Stop apologizing for the things you didn't do. We'll be fine.

Jessica stood up and went out of the room. As she was walking past the reception, her phone buzzed. She received the call.

Jackson: We found out.

Jessica: Where is Kai?

Jackson: According to Isabella, Liam kept him in an apartment near your mansion. The apartment belongs to Liam.

Jessica: Near the mansion?

Jackson: Yes

Jessica kept quiet for a few seconds and then nodded.
Jessica: Okay. Thanks.

She hung up and walked towards her car. She was about the open the door to the driver's seat when she heard the sound of a horn. She looked at the source of the sound and saw a familiar car.

Mrs. Frank: You shouldn't have done that

Ashley: Mom, we need to leave as soon as possible. I've booked two tickets. We're leaving America and going to Asia.

Mrs. Frank: That child... I feel guilty. He was innocent

Ashley was packing the rest of the stuff. They're almost done.

Ashley: I'm feeling guilty too, but I had no choice. It was the only way I had to sav-

There was a knock on the door. Ashley stiffened and looked at her mother. Mrs. Frank looked back at her, their eyes spoke fear.

Who was it...?

There was another knock, a louder one. Ashley gulped. She took out a gun from the drawer.

Ashley: Who's there?

???: Open the door or we'll break it open!

Ashley looked at her mom. Her mother nodded. Ashley walked towards the door, the gun pointed towards the door. She opened the door and pointed it straight at the one who was standing right in front of the door.

Ashley: R-Ryan!
Ashley's eyes widened. Her face turned pale and the gun fell from her hands. Ryan had a sad yet angry look on his face.

Mrs. Frank: Who are you?

Ryan entered the room and looked at Mrs. Frank.
Ryan: Your daughter's boyfriend.

Mrs. Frank rose from the chair she was sitting on.
Ryan: And the best friend of Jessica Kennedy Williams, whose son was abducted by your daughter.

Ashley looked the other way. She couldn't look into Ryan's eyes. He kind of scared her at that moment.

Mrs. Frank: I ask for forgiveness on my daughter's behalf. She had no other choice, son

Ryan: She could've told me when she was threatened.

Ashley: But there's no difference between your gang and Poison Ivy. You all are criminals, bad people. I just want to get out of this mess. My mother is the only family I have. You'd understand that better, Ryan

Ashley's eyes were shining with tears.

Ryan: Neither of you will leave this apartment until Kai is rescued. I've already messed up. I don't want any other trouble because of you.

Ashley: No...
Her voice was faint. She knew Ryan wouldn't listen to her. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath.

Ryan: My men will guard you.
Saying, Ryan left.  

Ryan (thinks): Why does it always have to be me? I lost my family when I was just a kid. I fell in love and slept with her, yet got rejected by her. I found my brother and joined him. I fell in love, again. With a person who is nothing but a backstabber!

Ryan punched the air and yelled out of frustration.
Ryan: Why is it always me?!

Jessica looked at the source of the sound and saw a familiar car. She looked at the person who was sitting in the driver's seat. He was looking at her pleadingly.

Jessica took a deep breath and got in the car. She turned the car and when she finally turned it around enough to drive it, she looked at the man in the car.

It was her husband, Maverick Nathan Williams.
He was looking at her, his eyes asking for forgiveness. He wanted to apologize and Jessica wanted to hear those words from his mouth. Just those three words.
I. AM. SORRY.

But ego is a small yet dangerous word that can cause a disaster in a long and beautiful word-like relationship.

Jessica drove away, leaving Maverick there. She called Enrique.

Jessica: Report to me all the apartments and houses that are under Poison Ivy in the US

Enrique: Sure.

After a few minutes, she noticed the reflection of a car following her on the outside mirrors of the car.
Jessica: Mark?

She hit the accelerator and sped away. Maverick did the same and chased her. The two, which seemed, were having a race. Finally, Maverick surpassed her and stopped his car a few meters away from her car. Jessica lowered the speed and finally applied the brakes. The two got out of the cars almost together. Jessica walked up to Maverick and folded her arms.

Mark: Come back, please

Jessica: After everything, how can you expect me to go back? After everything you said to me?

Mark: Love, none of these would have happened if you'd informed any of the members.

Jessica let out an exaggerated laugh.
Jessica: So it's my fault? Did you ever try to listen to me?

Mark: Stop bringing the past into this! Finding Kai is important!

Jessica pulled her gun out and pointed it at her husband.

Jessica: Since it's my fault that Kai is abducted, it will be me who will bring him back. And I don't want you to step between. If you do, you'll be lying dead on your grave, Maverick Williams.

Mark: Stop behaving like a child! We both need to –

Jessica: There's no we...

*GUNSHOT*

Maverick's eyes widened...
