Chapter 10: Abyssal Descent

Raven and Moon Knight emerged from their portal into a world of endless water. The Ocean of Infinite Depths stretched in every direction, its surface eerily calm. A faint, otherworldly glow emanated from the water, hinting at the vast mysteries—and dangers—beneath.

Moon Knight glanced at the horizon. "I don't like this. Feels too quiet."

Raven's eyes glimmered with dark energy. "Quiet doesn't mean safe. Let's get moving."

As they stepped forward, a glowing pathway of water rose beneath their feet, guiding them toward the ocean's heart. But with every step, the water grew darker, the glow fainter.

"Something's watching us," Raven muttered, her voice low.

Moon Knight nodded, his crescent blades ready. "Let it watch. We'll be ready."

The Abyssal Guardians

The path suddenly vanished, and they plunged into the water. As they descended, the ocean came alive. Shadowy figures darted around them, their glowing eyes piercing the darkness.

"Raven," Moon Knight said, his voice steady despite the pressure building around them. "Friends of yours?"

She smirked, her magic swirling in her hands. "Not likely."

The figures attacked, their forms twisting and shifting like living shadows. Raven unleashed a wave of dark energy, pushing them back. Moon Knight moved swiftly, his blades cutting through the water with precision.

"These things don't die easily," he said, slicing through one only for it to reform moments later.

"They're not meant to," Raven replied, her eyes narrowing. "They're illusions—manifestations of fear. Ignore them, and they'll fade."

Moon Knight hesitated but trusted her judgment. He focused on the glow ahead, ignoring the shadowy forms clawing at him. Slowly, the creatures began to dissolve, their whispers fading into silence.

The Abyssal Trench

They reached the ocean floor, a vast, desolate expanse with a single glowing fissure at its center. The glow pulsed rhythmically, like a heartbeat.

"That's it," Raven said, her voice tinged with awe. "The Abyssal Anchor."

But as they approached, the fissure widened, and a massive creature emerged. Its body was a chaotic blend of coral, bone, and shadow, its multiple eyes glowing with malevolent intelligence.

"I am Thalasson, Warden of the Abyss," it rumbled. "You seek the Anchor, but only those who conquer the abyss may claim it."

Moon Knight stepped forward. "We're not leaving without it."

Thalasson roared, its voice shaking the ocean. "Then face the abyss!"

The Battle with Thalasson

The creature's massive tentacles lashed out, forcing Moon Knight and Raven to dodge in opposite directions. The water vibrated with Thalasson's power, making movement sluggish and attacks difficult.

Moon Knight threw his crescent blades, aiming for the creature's glowing eyes. The blades struck true, but Thalasson shrugged off the attack, its wounds healing instantly.

Raven's hands crackled with dark magic. "Its power comes from the abyss itself! We need to cut it off from the source!"

"How?" Moon Knight shouted, narrowly avoiding another tentacle strike.

Raven's eyes glowed brighter, her magic intensifying. "Keep it distracted!"

Moon Knight nodded, charging toward Thalasson. He used the creature's tentacles as platforms, leaping and striking at its head. The attacks didn't cause lasting damage, but they drew its attention.

Meanwhile, Raven focused her energy on the fissure. She chanted an incantation, her magic reaching deep into the abyss. The glow of the fissure began to dim, and Thalasson roared in pain, its movements becoming erratic.

"It's working!" Moon Knight called out, but the creature wasn't finished.

Thalasson unleashed a shockwave, knocking Moon Knight back and sending Raven tumbling. The fissure pulsed violently, and the ocean seemed to quake.

"We need to end this now!" Raven shouted, her voice strained.

Moon Knight regained his footing, his blades glowing with celestial energy. "Then let's finish it together."

Severing the Abyss

Raven and Moon Knight combined their powers, their energies intertwining in a dazzling display. Dark magic and celestial light surged toward the fissure, severing Thalasson's connection to the abyss.

The creature let out a final, earth-shaking roar before collapsing, its body dissolving into the water. The fissure closed, leaving only the Abyssal Anchor, now glowing with a calm, steady light.

Moon Knight approached the artifact, his hand hesitating over it. "This thing better be worth it."

Raven gave a rare smile. "It is."

As Moon Knight lifted the Anchor, the ocean around them began to brighten, the oppressive darkness fading.

"Two down," Raven said, her voice resolute. "Let's hope Kei and Ignis are ready for the final leg."

Back to the Celestial Spire

The two returned to the meeting point, the Celestial Spire, where Kei and Ignis were already waiting with their Anchor.

"About time," Ignis said with a grin. "We were starting to think you got lost."

Moon Knight smirked. "Just had to deal with a giant sea monster. No big deal."

Kei looked at the two Anchors, their energies resonating with each other. "One more to go. Then we face Nullus."

As they prepared to embark on the final leg of their journey, a shadow fell over the group. They turned to see a familiar figure—Lucifer—leaning casually against the spire.

"Going somewhere?" he asked, his tone dripping with mockery.

Kei's eyes narrowed. "What do you want?"

Lucifer's smirk widened. "Oh, nothing much. Just thought I'd offer a little... assistance. After all, you'll need all the help you can get."
