o7. Man-Made..

It is the speed which makes a bullet so dangerous. Were it to be slowed, honestly, there would be absolutely no danger to it at all, for anyone could just step aside. No one saw Quicksilver coming and that was only an advantage to what a proper punch in his speed could do to the ugly species of aliens they were up against.

Aliens on all fours with no eyes, nightmare teethed mouths and thirst for blood were bred to kill indeed, so Peter punched his way to tissue, leaving behind monsters cut in half, a power otherwise he never would have used. Rage expression: he was there for revenge.

Revenge looked nasty on heroes, but it was necessary to feel it in the midst of the fight, because far away from Peter making his was through as many of the animals they were fighting, Thor was raising off the ground in a cluster of lightning. Across the field, Storm and him were passing entire webs of electricity, so strong that just one touch would burn any concious being.

It would have been enough to end the fight fast, but truth was, the remaining Black Order members were those causing the real trouble. Black Dwarf was going head on against Colossus, Scott and Logan, keeping the giant from reaching Storm, but nonetheless unsuccessful in truly incapacitating him or even piercing the armour.

Corvus Glaive, cloaked and twisting his double-edged polearm, was held back valiantly from reaching Thor by Tony and Sam in the air and Steve and Gamora on the ground. This Black Order member was moving fast and not even the turned good daughter of Thanos could give any insight on the best way to fight him and his perfect aims.

A perfect aim helped Proxima Midnight too, against Kurt's fast moves, Rocket and Groot's explosives and Drax direct attacks. They were the ones who needed Peter Maximoff's speed the most because monsters were troublesome to deal with when fighting against this fierce woman.

Ebony Maw, the telepath of the Black Order knew Peter did the heavy lifting on that battlefield for the pathetically small team, but he found it hard to reach the boy he dubious could track, when he was protected by Daisy, Erik and a fellow telepath he couldn't locate yet.

While everyone fought directly, Charles was the only one doing it indirectly, keeping track of anyone who needed help. When Corvus' glaive stuck Tony's suit in the chest like a hook would catch a fish, Charles felt it. "Erik," he called as Iron Man was brought down to the ground and in danger from that sharp tool to just drive through his chest entirely. Steve was struggling to get up and Sam was escaping a couple of the bred monsters Peter didn't get to yet.

Hearing Charles in his mind, Erik left Daisy to block Ebony Maw's attacks and reached his left hand out. From behind the team responsible with keep the Sol Stone away from the fight for when Thanos arrives, he pulled apart one chunk of metal from Quill's ship and threw it across the field into Corvus'.

"Hey!" Quill paused his shooting for a moment, just to complain about the state of his ship. Him, along with Bucky, Kitty and Sol were perhaps the furthest from the fight. Sol was in no condition to participate because each death she felt, even if just that of monsters, was adding darkness to her surroundings.

Corvus has been kicked off Tony and he had the chance to call JARVIS' help and activate from the cargo on Milano his spare parts. They joined in on his costume in a matter of seconds, through which he also managed to get up and fly into the air, away from the spot where the glaive hit on again, rather fast.

Erik's attention returned to his own fight. Ebony Maw dodged all their attacks, but found it quite hard to keep floating over the ground and remain in advantage when Daisy's gravitational pull worked with Erik's magnetism, dragging him on soil where she'd be in advantage.

"Daisy," Charles spoke in her mind, "Peter is growing tired."

Ebony Maw tapped into their conversation and grinned at the information he had received about the speeding boy cutting through their pet army. At the faint gesture of his arms, raising, then spreading aside, the earth bended at his willl.

Erik's magnetism did not work on dirt, so he was brushed aside and Ebony simply closed his palms, crushing the two blocks in on Daisy. She tightened her fists and forced the yellow glow of her eyes. Then was when her forearms turned to steel, molecule by molecule, and in impact with the attack, she crushed the chunks of dirt to shatter away harmlessly around her.

A pounding headache sang into her forehead first and the across the entirely of her being. Daisy's fingertips felt warm. "I'm charged," she announced through the comms and counted on Charles to let everyone know a retreat needed to happen.

"About time!" Tont exclaimed. "Took you long enough, Dee... JARVIS, activate Omega-Containment Zone Protocol."

Ebony Maw was suddenly stroke off the sky, away from Daisy, by both Thor and Storm's lightning bolts. From Milano, Tony's luggage almost fully lit up and activated. Several empty costumes flew bolting into the sky and starting shooting at anything trying to stop their team from getting behind the fences constructing themselves.

"You got this, Daisy," Charles voiced to her only while Erik helped him on the other side of the reinforced fence meant to filter out the nuclear power their omega-level mutant was so known for.

"Stop!" Ebony Maw raised from the ground and realized something was wrong. The silence settled as all their monsters, stepping over many dead but still plenty more alive, came to an abrupt stop at the command of their telepathic commander. The silence was a great conduct and Charles gasped.

"Erik, take the helmet off!" Charles begged immediately.

It wasn't simple metal and Erik found an incredible resistance.

"Shit," Tony realized Ebony was the one keepinf Charles wired in and scanning his brain for the entirety of their plan. "JARVIS, shoot that squid."

"On it sir," all the suits flying above the fence aimed at Ebony, but Proxima and Corvus have already started cutting at them with throws of their spear life weapons.

"No!" Peter Maximoff breathed out heavily from his seated position on the ground, when Steve and Logan wanted to make a step forward back over the fence. "Trust me, you don't wanna go out there while Daisy's heated up."

"I don't get it," Sam joined besides Steve.

"She got shot in the head a while back," Storm explained. "It messed up her mutation and every once in a while, she has to explode."

"Nuclear power," Logan breathed in with a grimace, "the man-made terror."

Ebony Maw found that information too and released Charles when the helmet was beginning to smoke, breaking little sparks away. Thor made his way through the standing crowd and ripped that helmet apart and off the head of the suffocating man.

"Kill the mutant! Now!" Ebony Maw gave the order, panicked pointing his finger towards Daisy, left standing alone in the swarm of enemies.

Thor watched how Tony let his remaining suits land down on their safe side of the fence, then watched, much like the others how spears and axes, claws and jaws jumped at Daisy, embracing the extent of her extreme migraine, right in the spot where a bullet used to be.

She didn't fight it and oh, how good it felt to let go and feel that intoxicating yellow flame pierce her eyes then melt the atoms around, raise the heat impossible and explode all around. Corvus' spear turned to dust, the monsters closest to her too, and everything further got carbonized, poisoned by the nuclear energy or tossed so hard they broke every single thing which mattered.

Bucky lowered his gun, watching something he never would have guessed he'd come to see upclose. The ticking on Tony's forearm, where he watched just how much radiation got through the fence to them, was not too loud and that made the science man sigh relieved.

Relief was not for Erik. With one hand on Charles, having checked his head wound, burns from the prototype being virus-subject to Ebony Maw, looked through the fence at the field filled with dust and destruction. A desolated silence, but through it all, he saw one person still standing.

Daisy's hand burned a print into Ebony Maw's head and though the radiation was dying down, back to be absorbed into her body, she held it a little while longer to look down at the knelt last live member of the Black Order. He trembled, choked on his blood, but looked at her while one single question was addressed to him. "Where is Thanos?"

"He's running away," Wong notted breathlessly and mildly worried to look at the sky. Thanos did not expect to met by such a concentrated force on Earth. Danny may not have stroke to kill, not entirely up to date with who he was up against, but what Thanos thought initially to be only few beings capable of withstanding his force turned to be far more than he'd like up to date on his schemes.

He retreated back on his ship and he was turning all engines to depart.

Danny brough his gaze back down and pointed at the robot woman Luke and Spider-Man were holding, "He left her behind."

"And he's probably going back on the planet where Daisy and the others are at now, right?" Sierra turned to Wong.

"We need to find out where and you two need to go finish this off," Wong nodded along and straightened. "Bring the robot," he motioned for Luke and Spider-Man to approach.

"Now hold on just a second, we came because this alien was being hostile in our city," Luke passed the robot to the wizard a bit reluctantly. "Why do Danny and Sierra have to go after that motherfucker if he already left?"

"Because that motherfucker," Wong punctuated, "is an evil man who will stop at nothing to kill the entire universe. The plan was to free the Phoenix and unleash it on Thanos, but since we heard nothing from Strange since he left after her, Danny is the next best who can stop the end of the world and Sierra..." Wong stop and glanced at the girl. He pursed his lips and turned back to Nebula, "I don't know how, but you seem to be the next best sorceress they could use."

"Man," Luke nudged Danny. The latter was controlling his breath to calm down from the fight which has ragged his casual attire. "Why the hell didn't you punch that space Hitler harder then?"

"Daisy spoke a lot about this war, but she didn't actually give us pictures of Thanos and his people, you know," Sierra shrugged a little apologetically, blaming their followed K'un-Lun teachings of seeking peace. It would have been closer to the truth to say that they would rather not unleash the real power of Shou-Lao on the streets of their home city, but that was a thought secret only to the gaze she and Danny shared.

"Can you get a location out of her head?" Danny asked Wong. He glanced above and the ship was already almost too small to be seen. Thanos was getting an enormous headstart on them.

"I can, but it will take some time."

Time was not on Thanos' side. But Reality was. And that was almost just as tricky.

Once he did arrive back on Tuun, through a Space portal opened from the ship he ditched near Earth's moon, on Thanos' gauntlet glowed the red cumulated energy they called the Reality Stone.

Peter Maximoff saw the red glint through the clouds of dust but couldn't make out what was glowing such. Sol felt it though. The presence of three other stones made her feel sick and whisper, "He's here."

Thor heard it and did not take too long to look at the fence and see the dust clearing out around Thanos whom he would never not recognize now. "Stark, bring down the fence! Now!"

"Daisy, look-!" Erik swallowed his own exclamation of worry because there was nothing but shock left behind when dust particles turned red and from them beings started to get put back together. The Black Order was being resurrected back into the reality and all the army they fought back too.

It wasn't just the little creatures, the mindless monsters, but the facility they blew up. Everything was brought back to existence and this reality was evolving around Daisy who has just swallowed back all the radioactive potential of her best state. Under her grip, Ebony Maw was healing completely, eyes and veins glowing red from the power of his leader and father.

He laughed up at Daisy while standing up against her strength. "You are going to regret this, girl." Ebony Maw's hand gripped her wrist and twisted her hand off of him.

Tony was working rapidly to deactivate all the shields and let them join the fight again, not leave Daisy alone in the masses. But this was far more than what they were ready for and half of them have already grown tired.

Thanos smelt their fear. His eyes scanned the surroundings, resurrecting his army but stopping on the opposing force. A handful of humans posed trouble to his Order? He grunted annoyed. And were it not to have noticed Sol in that crowd, then perhaps he would have smiled. He wondered: if he killed everyone there in front of her, wouldn't the stone rather be too broken to refuse joining him?

"Raise, my army!" Thanos' voice boomed across the field.

"The fence!" Thor pestered Tony to work faster and disable all the network. He was restless, itching to get close to Thanos that he didn't even hear Steve trying to reason that they need a plan before jumping in such a fight where all odds where agianst them. Erik was one of those who didn't hear the guidelines for a plan either. All he heard was the trembling cries of Daisy... because Thanos imprisoned her for so long, broke her will and confidence.

"I am trying," Tony barked back, just as stressed, because he kept glancing ahead and Daisy's position was getting worse in the fight.

Her eyes were glowing yellow once more, and she distanced herself of Ebony Maw just to find herself surrounded by enemies. What do I do? she asked herself. There would be little time to think and ponder from all the DNA data she stored, which was best. One wrong decision and she could end up jeopardising everyone else she brought there, that dark day on Tuun.

Thanos pointed to the side, at the group of humans, mutants and aliens, behind which, Sol was standing. One last time, his voice reverberate across the army, "Bring me the Stone."

author's note:    👀👀👀👀 their plan was great.. until it wasn't. "be careful what you wish for" has never hit harder..
