Chapter 5: A Date with Fate
The young couple were having a wonderful evening.
"Oh Edwin, you were wonderful." The blonde wrapped around his arm while he was talking about one of his occurrences.
"It's not easy beating an ogre down. You should have seen the size of those monsters. They were the size of a behemoth, even the archer struggled to find his weak spot."
"That must be really dangerous fighting off those monsters."
"It is. Johan was this close in losing his arm. The way you are holding around my arm now, the ogre would have picked it up in one hand and ripped it clean off, snapping the bones into pieces. Luckily, Ceaser used his crossbow and shot him just in time. The bolt went through his thick skull and went down." Catherine was disgusted by the gory details.
"Do you want to know what is on my mind when I go out hunting?"
He asked her, but frankly, she didn't want to know any more details about those grotesque images that will plague her mind for the next week.
"I think about you." She looked at him in awe.
"When I face danger, I think about our time we spend together. Many things come into my mind, but one thing I am certain is that I want to spend every moment with you."
She kissed him passionately.
The two witches were watching their romantic moment through the mirror.
"Are you seeing this?" The old hag asked her.
"Yes. And it's making me sick!" Barbara made a disgusted expression.
"And I know the solution." The hag said.
"Good. I'm getting sick just by looking at it."

The couple arrived to Louie's establishment to have romantic dinner.
The witches were commencing the first phase of their plan.
"Did you bring the sleeping potion?" The taller witch inquired.
"I always come prepared." The elderly witch took the vial out of her pocket.
Barbara took the sleeping potion and used a magic wand to cast a transformation spell on herself.
"Multis mutationes. Turn me into a nearby waitress, so I can capture my nemesis."
Juliana went into the kitchen and the spell took effect. Barbara's pitch black eyes turned hazel, her monobrow was gone and had eyebrows like the rest. Her long black hair became short and tousled brown, her nearly white skin turned into a peachy skin tone, not to mention that she got five inches shorter.
The old hag was on the lookout for anything that might get in the way
of their plans and it seems that the cook is one of them.
"Sbrigati donna! Don't you see that there are hungry customers out there?!" The cook yelled while the imposter waited for the waitress to come out of kitchen.
"I'm going as fast as I can!" Juliana shouted.
"Questo è quasi brutto come il tempo in cui la brutta cameriera ha lavorato qui ha mettendo a fuoco metà del mio ristorante. (This is almost as bad as the time that ugly waitress worked here set half of my restaurant on fire.)"
Barbara shot a menacing glare toward the cook for that remark.
"Yes, but at least she was fast enough to give the customers the food they ordered." It was Meredith who said it, a blonde waitress that wore a crown shaped braid before she left the kitchen.
Then Juliana got out of the kitchen before the cook had an outburst.
"Here is your dish!", said the waitress to the couple.
"Thank you, miss." Edwin thanked her before Catherine acted out of jealousy when he was acting gentlemanlike to the waitress.
"Edwin!" He liked it when she got a little jealous, that would give him more reason to tease her.
"Time to improvise." Barbara moved as fast as she could to give the food to the customers until another waitress gave her another dish to serve.
"This dish is for table number three." Her objective seemed to be getting further away.
"Great! I had almost forgotten what a pain it was to serve the tables. Cathy made me a huge favor in getting me fired." Barbara thought.
"And what happened to our drinks?!" It was Catherine who demanded
to be served.
"It will be arriving shortly." Helen replied.
"Now is my chance!" The imposter gave the dish to the customer and dashed to get the drinks before the actual waitress would get a hold of it. The customer "accidentally" spilled cider on Juliana's apron.
"My apron!"
"Forgive me, miss. How clumsy of me." The customer apologized long enough to keep her distracted. This gave Barbara just enough time to pour the sleeping potion on the beverages and quickly moved to serve her targets.
"Your drinks." The fake waitress chimed in.
"It's about time!" Catherine said petulantly despite that the imposter already left.
After the couple were done eating, they took a sip of the sleeping potion. In less than a minute they felt drowsy, the last thing they saw was a blur before they fell asleep.
Barbara snapped her fingers to check if the sleeping potion took worked. The sleeping couple were unresponsive. The plan worked. The disguised witches commenced the second phase of their plan.
In the kitchen, the cook was washing the dishes when he heard a complaint from a customer.
"This dish tastes terrible!" Those words made the cook boil in rage. He stormed out of the kitchen when he heard the customer slander his cooking.
"Who dares to insult my cooking?!"
"That would be me." The cook saw that the customer that slandered his cooking was an elderly woman.
"How dare you call my cooking garbage?!" The cook yelled in outrage.
"Have you even tasted your own cooking?" The elderly customer asked him just as she looked at the dish with disgust.
"I know what I cook! Verso il cuore e l'anima in ogni piatto che preparo. (I pour my heart and soul in every dish that I make.)" Louis retorted.
"Oh really? Then would you mind telling me what is that crawling around the tables?" She asked, the chef as he turned around and saw that there was a rat in his establishment.
Louis gasped, "Un ratto!", before he fainted. The old hag showed her
crooked smile while the waitresses shrieked in horror of the rat infestation, except for Barbara who still posed as Juliana at the time the customers fled from the establishment. Luckily, the couple were still asleep the whole time.
The false waitress was trying to figure out how to get them out of there by the time the other waitresses fled.
"Great! Now how am I going to get these two out of here?"
"Wake up, Louis!" Juliana tried to wake him. "Louis, svegliati! Why won't you wake up?!" She slapped his fat cheeks repeatedly but he was still unconscious.
"This doesn't make any sense! The establishment had not been infested
by rats in years." She thought before she heard a faint cluttering noise in the kitchen.
"Wait a second. Where is that noise coming from?" Juliana went to the
kitchen and found the imposter.
"You!!! You're the one behind this!"
"Don't look at me! This rat infestation wasn't my idea." The imposter
admitted.
"I don't care who you are or what you're after. I want you out. Now!"
"Oh please. I fought people twice your size. If you think you can beat me, then you're mistaken!" The imposter remarked while Juliana grabbed a
broom to use it as a weapon and took charge.
Juliana whacked her with the broomstick while the other blocked her attacks as best as she could.
She then poked the imposter with the broomstick to her ribs, after the hit Barbara grabbed the broomstick to pry it off of the waitress which turned into a tug of war.
While the two of them were fighting in the kitchen, someone casted a
levitation spell on the couple and took their bodies. When the fight was starting to get brutal, the effects of the transformation spell were starting to fade.
"You are finally revealing your true colors." The brunette smirked before the imposter used a frying pan and saw her reflection to understand what she
meant. Her hair was getting darker and longer.
"The spell."
Juliana took the opportunity to throw a butcher knife that nearly cut Barbara's shoulder blade. The imposter's darkened eyes widened from that surprise attack.
"That was too close for comfort." The imposter thought as she gained her original height.
"I'm done messing around. Let's finish this here and now!"
"You took the words right out of my mouth." Juliana unknowingly gave
her an idea on how to take her down.
The fight continued and her eyebrows thickened. Barbara was running out of time and she only had one shot to put her to sleep, she held a tight grip on the sleeping potion and took charge. She punched Juliana in the face, giving her a black eye. Then she grabbed her by the neck, pressed her thumb against her larynx, chocking her.
The brunette gasped for air and that is when Barbara gave her the sleeping potion to drink.
"I'm not getting exposed by the likes of you. Did you hear me?!" She recognized her voice when she swallowed the potion.
Her vision blurred, "Bah," she blinked once or twice. "Barbara?" She fell into a deep sleep, and just in time when the spell wore off.
"That was close." Barbara left the kitchen to find that the couple were gone. "Oh come on!"
"Well it took you long enough!" The old hag says while she levitated the sleeping couple.
"Not in the mood." Was the last thing the pale witch said before leaving the village square. By the time the waitress woke up, everything seemed back to normal, except that there was a black rat crawling around the establishment.
