backstory

➤ born and raised in the dawn court lain ever since he was a child had an interest in the way the world worked. he could care less about how fae work his mind has always been on his inventions.

lain's parents let him be on his own like he had wanted and as such was never really taken out to see other fae during his early life. this made him innocent and bookish along with having little conversation skills which has carried over into his blunt personality. due to his innocence he only knew his own household and a clever lesser fae woman named via took advantage of that.

the fae knew that lain family was high in society as high fae and she wanted to gain that popularity. so via, got close to lain and slowly made him care for her. she became his first lover and he truly cared for her but at her urging to make her his wife he turned her down wanting to simply be with her as they had been. this turned her on him as she found out her status would not change and while spewing vitriol at the silent inventor she leaves him for the dawn courts palace to be a paramour of one of the many womanizer high fae there.

lain was blindsided with her actions as he thought via actually loved him for who he was. due to this he threw himself into his work and eventually became well sought after by other fae.
