THERES ALWAYS A RACE AGAINST TIME.

IVANNA NILOLEAVNA was among the many girls tested on and had undergone the psychological conditioning of the Black Widow Program, better known as The Red Room. Ivanna would never be able to tell people who her birth parents were, as she was raised by the program and the people in charge, such as Dreykov.

The girls raised in the Red Room endured strict training, every day was something. Whether it was hand-to-hand combat, acrobatics, weapons training, or tactical skills - the girls were being raised to be skilled assassins. They often sparred against one another, not allowed to show their weakness no matter the pain inflicted. This is where Ivanna would meet Natalia Romanova, their spar leading to a respected relationship between the pair.

However, Dreykov was not satisfied with simply the training of "his" girls, and would go as far as to subject certain girls to certain practices. Natalia and Ivanna were among these girls. Dreykov had found ways to give these girls abilities such as superhuman durability, something inflicted on Natasha, or pain immunity, telepathy, and electrokinesis: Ivanna.

Ivanna and Natalia were truly put to the rest when they, alongside a young Yelena Belova, were put in a mission alongside Alexei Shostakov and Melina Vostokoff. The group posed as a family, but that could not last long.

Eventually, their fake family came to an end. Natalia, Ivanna, and Yelena were all returned to the Widow program, neither girl knowing what became of their pseudo parents. The girls were cycled through the program once more. Natalia and Ivanna would soon become partners, being sent on missions alongside one another until, eventually, an Agent of SHIELD named Clint Barton was sent to end one of their missions by killing them.

The agent instead helped them, and there began their long pursuit of proving their loyalty to Director Nick Fury and the rest of his agents. In 2012, the two women became Avengers, and there they remained under their new guises, Natasha Romanoff and Ivanna Nichols, trying to remove any trace of their past that they could.

Ivanna thought she'd found a new constant, especially when she met Steve Rogers, also known as Captain America. She didn't know she could feel for someone the way she felt for him, which led to her long allegiance to the Star Spangled Man with a Plan. Whatever peace they had managed to maintain was changed by the time the Sokovian Accords were introduced to the Avengers.

She watched the Avengers become divided between fighting for what they thought was right. After the falling out of Steve and Tony, Ivanna followed right behind Steve, living as a nomad until Natasha requested her help in Russia.

Before she left to fight with Natasha, she promised Steve to fight by his side even if time was against them, but her fate was long decided before Thanos could snap half of the universe away.

Hello! I'll try to keep this short and sweet, but no promises. Against Time has existed for a long time. I've been considering doing a revamp, but I like the draft as it is. It's simple, and as one of my oldest works: if I do redo it, it will be a complete rewrite.
