Third Person POV
"Dad! What made you do a one eighty on Yin??? Why have you invited him to have dinner with us???" War was finding it really hard to process what his father had just said.
"Listen, son," Mr. Ratsameerat placed a hand gently on War's shoulder. "We are all capable of making mistakes, whether young or old. I will admit that I made the mistake of misjudging Yin."
"What do you mean by that?" War was still very confused.
Before Mr. Ratsameerat could reply to his son's question, they heard a buzz on the front door.
"That will be Yin," Mr. Ratsameerat said, quickly walking out of War's room and going down to the living room to greet Yin.
Yin bowed to Mr. Ratsameerat saying, "Thank you for inviting me to dinner, sir."
"You don't have to call me 'sir' " Mr. Ratsameerat said with a wide smile. "Since we are all like family here, just call me Dad the way War calls me."
Yin just smiled, feeling reluctant to suddenly be calling his former employer as 'Dad'.
In a little bit, War came down the stairs and upon seeing him Yin immediately moved forward and gave War a quick respectful hug, careful not to offend Mr. Ratsameerat with any intimate touches to War.
"My dad still hasn't told me why he invited you to dinner," War said to Yin. 'Don't get me wrong. I'm so happy to see you again."
"I told him that I wanted to get to know him more during dinner," Mr. Ratsameerat informed his son.
"But why now, all of a sudden?" War was still confused and wanted to connect the dots in his mind. "You never asked to do that when he was working for us as my driver. "
Again, before Mr. Ratsameerat could answer his son's question, Elsa appeared and announced that dinner was served.
"Come, let's eat," Mr. Ratsameerat placed a hand on Yin's shoulder, urging him to follow him to the dining room.
"Ooh, I love chow mein," Yin said upon seeing the main dish on the table.
"Me too!" War said, smiling brightly at Yin.
"Me three," Mr. Ratsameerat said, grinning at both Yin and War.
"Here, place a generous serving on your plate," Mr. Ratsameerat said to Yin.
War was starting to get suspicious at his father's sudden affection towards Yin whom just last night he had booted out the door.
"So, tell me, Yin," Mr. Ratsameerat said when everyone started to eat. "Do you plan to continue with your current film making course at the university or do you plan to take over your father's chain of hotels when your father decides to pass his business on to you?"
War stood up from the dining table.
"What is this all about?" War looked from his father to Yin.
"I meant to tell you before now..." Yin started to say but War walked away from the table, waving him away.
"Wait!" Yin stood up from the table as well to go after War.
"I don't want to ever see you again!" War declared angrily. "All this time you have taken me for a fool, hiding your identity from me. It must have been so much fun for you."
"War! You don't understand! Please let me explain," Yin went up the stairs, following War to his room.
"I don't want to listen to anything that you have to say!" War declared angrily. "Now get out of my sight. You and my scheming father can sleep on the same bed tonight, you despicable character."
War slammed the door shut on Yin's face and tearfully took his phone out of his pocket.
He tapped on his phone and listened to the ringing, waiting for the person he called to answer.
"War?" the incredulous voice of Wish came on the phone. He could not believe his good fortune.
"Wish, can you take a taxi to my place this evening and pick me up? I want to spend the night with you. And then I can ride with Carole to university in the morning." War said tearfully on the phone.
"Okay, wait for me, sweetheart," Wish said, his voice quivering in excitement at the sudden good fortune that fell on his lap tonight.
Thank you, Buddha Prince.
