Yin's POV

I couldn't think fast enough. I had no recourse but to lie.

"I'm sorry, sir," I said to Mr. Ratsameerat. "I didn't think that War was ready to be picked up. He was busy sharing a passionate kiss with his fifteen year old boyfriend so I decided to leave and give him more time. Anyway I was the one who asked you to let me pick him up already even if he had not yet called you to say that he was ready. So it is entirely my fault really. I should have waited until he called you to say that he was ready to be picked up."

I had to take in gulps of air because I was talking nonstop and was forgetting to breathe.

"But he called me to say that you had left him," Mr. Ratsameerat reasoned out. "That means that he was ready to be picked up."

"It didn't look like it to me," I countered.

"Go back and pick him up now," Mr. Ratsameerat ordered me.

"Yes, sir," I said, starting up the car and turning back to that blasted kid's residence.

They were both still at the gate when I arrived.

"It wasn't what you were thinking," War said as soon as he settled in the passenger seat.

I did not even bother to dignify his statement with a response. I just kept on driving.

When we arrived at the house, before he could climb up the stairs to his room, I grabbed his arm and led him to his father's study.

Without knocking, I opened the door and shoved War inside.

"He's here now," I announced to Mr. Ratsameerat.

Mr. Ratsameerat rose from his desk, strode forward and without warning hit War's cheek with the palm of his hand.

I was the one who winced at the unexpected assault.

I suddenly felt guilty. I shouldn't have snitched on War.

Mr. Ratsameerat was now shaking his son by the shoulders.

"Do you realize what trouble you can get into by getting involved with a minor?" Mr. Ratsameerat's face was dark with anger.

"But I didn't do anything wrong!" War tried to defend himself.

"Yin saw you kissing that kid right in front of his gate!" Mr. Ratsameerat said,  never stopping from shaking his son's shoulders.

"I wasn't kissing him! He was the one kissing me and I pushed him away from me! Yin can tell you, he was there! He saw me!" War was now crying.

"He's right, sir," I decided to back War up. "I did see him push the kid away."

"But still, you shouldn't have been with him in the first place," Mr. Ratsameerat wasn't going to let his son off the hook that easily. "I thought you said you were going to hang out with Carole and not with her brother!"

"It couldn't be avoided, they live in the same house," War tried to reason out.

"Listen, I'm sorry I hit you," Mr. Ratsameerat's voice softened up.  "But do your best to avoid being in that kid's company. He seems to be up to no good."

War just nodded. His tears were streaming down his face.

"Go up and wash up and get ready for bed," Mr. Ratsameerat dismissed his son.

I accompanied War up to his room even though he shook my hand away when I caught him at the top of the stairs where he almost lost his footing.

He was about to close the door on my face but I fought back and let myself in.

"Listen to me," I said. "I'm sorry that I reacted upon seeing you kissing that kid."

"Just how many times do I have to say that I was not kissing Wish!" War raised his voice in frustration. "He was the one kissing me!"

"I'm sorry," I said. "I didn't see it that way. I guess I just got jealous."

The words got blurted out before I could stop myself.

"Jealous???" War looked at me with a shocked expression on his face. "Jealous???" he repeated. "But aren't you and Sea together?"

"What the fxxk are you talking about???" I was the one raising my voice now.

"I saw you hugging many times!" War accused me.

"It didn't mean anything," I countered. "They were just hugs between friends."

"But still, why would you feel jealous just because you saw me and Wish kissing?" War demanded to know.

I debated within myself.

Should I tell him? Should I tell him now?

I decided to throw caution to the wind.

"Because..." suddenly I felt nervous.

War noticed the hesitation. He spoke up suddenly, not waiting for me to finish my sentence.

"I don't feel anything for Wish," he declared. "If there's anyone that I have any feeling for, it is..."

He stopped suddenly, a shocked expression on his face, as if suddenly realizing that he was about to say something that he might regret for the rest of his life.
