Third Person POV

"Why don't you check your phone and call him back instead of doubting my words," Yin said, unable to hide his annoyance at War for thinking that he was just joking about the call from Passawish.

"I will," War said, grabbing his phone and tapping on the first number under his recent calls list.

His call was answered on the first ring.

"Hello, precious!" he heard Passawish say cheekily. "How are you doing right now? Are you feeling better?"

War did not bother to answer Passawish's questions. He cut to the chase.

"Did you tell Yin that I am your boyfriend?" War asked, trying not to sound hostile because after all Passawish had done him a favor by dropping off the school materials that he had missed in today's classes. On top of that Passawish was Carole's younger brother.

"Um... um..." Passawish stammered, feeling awkward at the direct confrontation he was getting from War. "Um... I was... I was just kidding, haha... you know I tried to be friendly to whoever answered my call. That guy was so rude to me. Did you say it was someone named Yin? Who is he? Why did he have access to your phone? Is he your boyfriend?"

"You ask too many questions." War reprimanded Passawish. "Why did you ask me to call you back? Was there any other school material that you forgot to hand over to me?"

While War was talking on the phone, Yin was busy fixing the plates and bowls and utensils on the dinner tray. He motioned to War that he was leaving. War held up his index finger to indicate for Yin to wait. Yin set the dinner tray back on the bedside table and crossed his arms against his chest and waited for War to finish his conversation with Passawish.

"Actually..." Passawish started to say,  frantically thinking about how to answer War's question. "... actually ... I accidentally left the last page of the school materials inside my backpack. Can I come back tomorrow to give it to you?"

War hesitated to answer. He really didn't want to deal with this pesky kid again.

"Why don't you just give it to Carole and then if I'm well enough to go back to classes tomorrow I will just get it from her," War said after a brief pause.

"I could bring it over to you tomorrow or I could stop by your university during lunch break," Passawish offered. "No need to bother my sister about it."

War couldn't believe the tenacity of Passawish.

"There's no need to go through that trouble..." War started to say.

"It's no trouble at all," Passawish interrupted him.

"Alright then," War didn't wish to prolong the phone conversation with Passawish. "See you tomorrow."

"Wait!" Passawish said. "Can we talk a bit longer?"

"I don't feel well, Wish," War replied. "I need to rest now."

"We can talk while you're lying down." Passawish insisted. "You want me to sing you a lullaby?"

Ohgod, this boy was impossible. How was War going to get rid of him before Yin lost his patience being made to wait while War was talking on the phone.

"Don't, please," War replied. "I really don't want to talk right now. Bye."

War tapped on the red phone icon before Passawish could say anything else.

Yin lifted the dinner tray once more from the bedside table as soon as War put his phone away.

"Wait! Please," War said as Yin got ready to leave the room with the dinner tray.

"What else do you need, War?" Yin asked impatiently. "I have already kept you company for dinner as your father requested."

War drew in his breath.

"I just want to let you know that Passawish is not my boyfriend," War said.

"No need to deny anything," Yin replied coldly. "I won't report you to the authorities."

"Report me for what?" War's voice sounded shocked and alarmed at the same time.

"That you're dating a minor," Yin replied as he walked towards the door.

"God in heaven, what an idiot you are!" War yelled at Yin. "Okay, go ahead, waste your time talking to the authorities. Let's see what resultsyou get for your tremendous effort."

"You were not listening, War," Yin said coldly. "I just told you that I wasn't planning to report you to the authorities."

"No, go ahead and report me to the authorities," said War. "I dare you," he added for good measure.

Yin left the room without a word.
