Yin's POV

Wow, I thought that War had a sensible head on his shoulders but no, he had to go and get involved with a kid, a minor, for chrissakes. I have a good mind to report him to the authorities.

I restrained myself from banging his bedroom door shut after I walked out and then went straight to Mr. Ratsameerat's study.

I knocked and waited for Mr. Ratsmaeerat to invite me to come in to his study. When he did so, he gave me a questioning look.

"Has War finished eating his dinner already?" he asked.

"No, I have just finished bringing his dinner tray into his room." I replied.

"So why are you not there having dinner with him?" asked Mr. Ratsameerat. "Havent't I told you to keep him company for dinner?"

"Ye s you did and I did not forget," I replied. "Unfortunately he already has a companion for dinner and I didn't want to be a third wheel."

"What are you talking about???" Mr. Ratsameerat rose from his chair and walked around his desk to confront me.

"When I entered his room to bring in the dinner tray I was greeted by... by..." I debated on whether to mention that it was actually a kid, a high school freshman kid who was keeping War company, but would that not get him into trouble with his father?

"By whom?" Mr. Ratsameerat demanded to know.

"I don't know his name, sir," I managed to say. "War did not introduce him to me."

Mr. Ratsameerat pushed me aside and stomped out of his study.

Uh oh, I'm sorry, War, I didn't mean to get you in trouble.

At first I heard raised voices, then calmer and steadier voices.

Then I heard footsteps coming down the stairs, Actually two sets of footsteps.

The kid was going down the stairs with Mr. Ratsameerat.

"He wasn't in the room to keep War company," Mr. Ratsameerat explained to me. "He went there to deliver some school materials for War to study. It seems his sister is War's friend and had offered to send him the lessons that he missed today. He was just on his way out."

Then Mr. Ratsameerat turned to the kid.

"Do you have a ride home, kid?" asked Mr. Ratsameerat.

"Yes, I do," the kid replied. "My dad has just arrived to pick me up. And I'm not a kid and my name is Passawish, or Wish for short. I told War to call me that."

"And my son told you to call him War? Without any honorifics before his name?" Mr. Ratsameerat asked the kid who did not want to be addressed as 'kid'.

"He was alright with me calling him War," the kid shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly.

I was very tempted to grab him by his collar and drag him out the gate.

Mr. Ratsameerat turned to me.

"Escort him to the gate," he said.

"Gladly," I replied, motioning for the kid to follow me.

"You oldies are so hung up on honorifics," he grumbled to me as he walked alongside me to the gate.

I glared at him.

"I'm not an oldie, you idiot," I glared at him. "I'm younger than War."

"Hey!" he glared back at me. "Don't call me an idiot! I probably know more than you on how to satisfy War and keep him happy all night!"

I could only stare at him in shock at hearing the words that were coming out of his mouth.

I was more than happy to see the back of him as he stepped out of the gate and into his father's waiting car.
