“You and Zanvil to get married in two weeks” were uncle's only words roaming in my head.

“Jane...Jane are you listening to”

“huh,” I said while gazing at his face cluelessly.

“I want you and Zanvil to get married in two weeks.” the uncle said with a sad face.

“Dad what are you talking about. You want me and her” Zanvil said while pointing at me with anger. “Two get married in two weeks,” he said angrily. I was quiet because I didn't know what to say.

“I know it is too early. You two did not get time with each other but” uncle stopped in his sentence. His eyes were sad.

Does uncle think that Zanvil is angry because we didn't get time together? He doesn't know the truth. His son doesn't want to get married to a homeless orphan like me.

“But what dad. First, you said I have to marry her and now you want me to get married in two weeks” he scoffed at uncle in anger.

He is so angry. Why won't? After all, I'm the one in his eyes who is marrying him against his will.

Are you ready to be in a marriage without love Jane? Were your husband will never think about loving you because he has already had a bad opinion about you. That you are a homeless orphan that knows how to take advantage of people who are kind to you.

My mind was asking me this question again and again. I swallowed hard.

As soon as I said those words in my mind. Uncle and aunts happy faces came in front of my eyes. I don't dare to take that happy smile from their faces. I swallowed hard again.

I can do this for my uncle and aunt.

Tears were forming in the corner of my eyes. I tried to stop them from flowing. I was fighting with my inner self.

“But what dad what” I again heard Zanvil angry voice.

“Zan listens to your dad first,” the aunt said with a sad angry voice. She has tears in her eyes.

What happened to her? I never saw tears in her eyes. Is she sad because of Zanvil’s behavior?

“Honey you can tell them,” the aunt said while keeping her hand on uncle's shoulder like giving him courage.

That feeling of uneasiness again started hitting me. “W..what is it, uncle. W..why y...you want us to get us married in two weeks” I asked in a weak braking voice.

They are scaring me.

“Maybe I won't be alive to see it with my own eyes afterward,” he said while looking in my and Zanvil’s eyes. Aunt tears were unleashed so was mine. She was making soothing circles on uncle's back. She was encouraging him to continue.

“W...what are you talking about dad. W..why you won't be al...” Zanvil was not able to complete his sentence. He swallowed hard. Hurt was on his face.

Uncle cleared his throat. “After four weeks I have surgery,” my uncle said while holding my hand and sadly smiling at me.

“What surgery uncle?” I asked him looking at his face. My vision was blurred with tears.

“I wanted to tell you both about this before but,” the uncle said while looking at me and Zanvil. “I didn't want you both to agree on this marriage on my health issues but you two agreed to marry each other. And now I have to tell you why I want you both to marry In two weeks”. uncle swallowed hard.

“I'm suffering from heart disease and I don't think I will survive in my surgery. So before I go from your lives for good. I want to see my children getting married in front of my eyes. I want to see my small family getting completed and happy still time I'm alive” he said in breaking voice.

“Please, don't say that uncle. You will be in our lives in our happy and sad moments,” I said while sobbing.

“Yes, dad please don't say things like that. You will be in our lives forever. What did the doctor tell you? We will go to some other doctor” he said in a breaking voice.

“We are a consulting country's best doctor. He said there are fifty-fifty chances of surgery getting successful and if the surgery is successful the recovery chance is not very high we have to take lots of care after that” aunt said while wiping tears from her face and sadly smiling at use.

Her tears were still flowing from her eyes. I averted my gaze. I can't see her crying my heart hurts so much. Losing my parents was so painful I can't lose my uncle too. I hugged uncle and started sobbing.

“Sssh Jane stop crying,” the uncle said while stroking my head in affection. “See you cry like a small girl. That's why I want you both to get married before I go. If in the future I'm not there to take care of you Zanvil will be there for you” he said while wiping tears from my face. “Now look at me,” the uncle said to me and took both hands in his. I looked at him tears were still flowing from my eyes. “I want you to get independent in your life. I want you to stand on your own feet. Soon you will be graduating and I know with flying colors. So I want you to join our family business. You remember your dad's hotel” the uncle asked me I nodded my head.

“You know it is not that small hotel. It is now a luxurious one. The most famous hotel in the city and the main headquarters of our hotel business. I want you to take responsibility for it and join it.” the uncle told me my eyes widened.

He wants me to take such a big responsibility.

I looked at Zanvil he was looking at me with no emotion.

Now he will think that I wanted all this. That I'm taking his inheritance too.

“Uncle what are you talking about. I can't take such a big responsibility and that the hotel is now yous it is big because of your efforts. And Zanvil is there to look after our family business” I said while looking at uncle and Zanvil.

“No Jane that hotel was never mine because it was always yours. You are the real owner of it” hearing his words my eyes widen in shock.

“W...what are you talking uncle,” I asked him in a breaking voice.

“Yes, Jane it's yours. Zanvil is there to look at other hotels which are his. After your marriage, Zanvil will take the post of CEO because of my health issues. Don't panic Zanvil will be there with you to teach you everything. You will work under him until you know everything. I just want to secure the future of my children” he said while looking at Zanvil for confirmation.

Zanvil nodded at him where aunt smiled sweetly at me to encourage me to say yes.

Why Zanvil is so quiet? Like he knew that the hotel was on my name from starting. He is not even surprised with uncle's decision like he knew this day would come.

“Now no more discussion you are joining family business” uncle said to me in a firm voice.

I looked at aunt she nodded at me. With heaviness in my throat, I said “Yes.”

“Now everything is sorted we need to hurry up. The wedding is only two weeks away” the aunt cheerfully said to us. We smiled at her. “In the first week, we will do an engagement ceremony, and in the second-week marriage ceremony. You both don't have to worry about anything I will plan everything” the aunt said while explaining us whole arrangement.

We decided that all the functions will be small and with a small list of the guest only friends and family.

After two days I will be engaged to the devil. Everyone is busy in the house for the preparation of engagement. Aunt called Nina and Jack for help. I don't think they are helping much because every time I saw them. They are busy fighting or arguing about something.

Getting fed up with them aunt called Gray for help. When Gray came to know about my marriage. He was shocked and sad at that time but he understood the situation. I didn't tell him about my mommy ut uncle's health and all. I just told him I want to marry Zanvil. He asked if I'm happy. With a heavy heart, I said yes. He has been a great help to aunt compared to Nina and Jack.

Uncle and Zanvil are also busy with all the company staff. Everyone is busy doing something and here I'm sitting alone in my room because my aunt told me I'm the bride. I have to rest and take care of my health and my skin. I'm getting bored like hell. I wanted to ask Zanvil if he knew about the hotel was in my name but he comes home very late. I didn't get a chance to ask him. So yesterday morning I woke up early to catch him before he goes to the office.

When I went into his room he was talking on the phone. Looking at me there he raised his brow in question gaze. What I was doing there. He was still talking with his business associates. “I want to talk about something important with you,” I said in a small voice. He gestured me to continue “About hotel” he immediately gestured me to stop.

He came close to me. He was still talking on the phone. My heart started beating fast. “Yes, I'm coming, of course, mister Will. Yeah, I know” he was looking at my face while talking. I don't know why in my stomach monkeys were doing summer salt. I lowered my eyes. “Mister Will can I have a moment,” he said to another line. He was still staring at my face.

Thank god now he will listen to me.

“..hmm” my words were cut in my mouth because Zanvil captured my lips. I didn't understand what happened. My brain stopped working. I forgot what I came here to talk about. He was kissing me hungrily and I was standing like a statue with widened eyes. He broke the kiss and smirked at me as his plan worked of distracting me. “Yes thank you, mister Will. I'm on my way”. He once more pecked on my lips and left. I was still standing there with a shocked face. I touched my wet lips. With little shaking hands.

What happened just now?

The next day I didn't see him. Tomorrow I'm getting engaged to the devil. I went down to look at how everything was going. “O god Jane you are still not ready. We have your parlor appointment and then we have to pick up your dress. We are running out of time. Go get ready fast” aunt bombarded me and she pushed me back to my room. I didn't get time to respond to her back.

Five hours of spending in parlor doing what not with aunt and Nina. And picking up my dress for tomorrow I was so tired. I want to sleep we reached home. I saw uncle was talking with Jack he is home early today. Zanvil came out of the kitchen with a bottle in his hand he is also early today.

Good, maybe I can talk to him.

As soon as our eyes meet he was staring at me like he loved what he saw in front of him. Suddenly I remember our previous encounter. My face was red and then I felt someone closing my eyes from behind. I knew who he was only one person can act so childishly.

“O my god Skyler when did you come” I shouted removing his hands from my eyes and jumping on him for a hug. Like always he changed me.

“An hour ago” he replied me while showing me his big smile.

“I missed you so much,” I said hugging him

“Me too” he hugged me back.

“Skyler” Nina called out his name and came running to him for a hug. They hugged each other. “Why you didn't inform us we would have come to the airport to receive you,” Nina asked him while furrowing her eyebrows at him.

“If I had informed you guys would I have got a chance to look at this beautiful surprise face of you two,” he asked us while pointing at our surprised faces and mischievously smirking at us.

“Come let's go we have so much to catch up on,” I said while tugging his one arm.

“Yes let's go,” Nina said while tugging his other arm.

“Jane I have something important to talk with you come with me,” Zanvil said while grabbing my hand his voice was showing a little bit of anger.

“Me too Nina come with me” Jack joined him.

“No we will talk afterward,” I said while removing Zanvil’s hand from mine. Nina did the same “come let's go, Skyler,” I said in happiness.

My tiredness was all gone movement I saw Skyler now I'm in the parting mood. But some people are in a bad mood. I thought after looking at Zanvil’s and Jack's faces.

Why they can't be happy in their life for once.
