My Stepfather Catches Me Being Bad

Hello, little midgets! Sorry about the inconvenience a few days ago. I accidentally updated this when it had like, ten words. Yeah.

But I still have writer's block.

So, I decided that I would just freestyle this. Whatever comes to mind that I can write, I will.

Very promising, right?

READ ON, MY LITTLE MIDGETS!!!!!!!!!!

Percy POV

As soon as Annabeth had finished smothering me, I went up to my room - and get this. I actually organized it! I usually have a room that mom says is in close competition with a pig sty.

Mom . . . I wondered how she was. I wondered how Chiron was. Last I saw him, he had been knocked out with blood trickling from his head. I knew that he would be able to live and would be better in no time. He was immortal, after all. But that could cause a headache for a few days.

And the camp would be silent. Completely, except for the clopping of Chiron's hooves. I wondered how lonely he would be. He would know better than to come here, to Avengers Tower. I could only imagine how desolate and vacant the camp would seem without the laughter and grunts of kids training.

I had to go back. I had to at least give him an Iris-Message, and I had to contact my mother. But how? I didn't have any drachmas on me and my powers weren't working because pf that idiot god. So I couldn't Iris-Message. I had to be there in the flesh. But I knew that I would have at least two security guards around me, and that would worry my mother. A lot.

Of course, I would still have to tell her that Camp Half-Blood had been captured by mortals, even though the magical barrier seemed just fine.

I sighed. Things could never be so neat, just like the little room I had was right now. Things could almost never be in a demigod's favor. It was simply a half-blood's life, and one had to get used to it. You'd think I'd know, after almost seven years in one's life.

Wait. My powers aren't working.

The realization hit me. How much had I relied on my sea-powers? Without them, the only thing I had was swordplay. And I was a little rusty. So I would have to rely on Riptide.

The son of Poseidon's power shall fade.

Woopee.

So I had to tell my mother about how my powers aren't working.

SHE'S GONNA KILL ME!

Oh well. I'll have to deal.

But I would have to tell Annabeth. I know she wants me to rest.

I JUST RESTED FOR A FEW HOURS, THOUGH! GEEZ, WOMAN! I DON'T NEED MORE SLEEP!

I probably shouldn't say that to her face. If I don't want my dental work messed up.

I'll just have to convince her.

That'll work. TOTALLY.

It's worth a shot though.

I made my way to Annabeth's room, which is actually right next to mine.

"Annabeth!" I rapped on her door. In a flash, the door swung open.

"Seaweed Brain! What are you doing? You should be resting!" Her eyes widened.

"Well, thanks for wanting me here," I said sarcastically.

She blushed. "No, I didn't mean it like - "

"I know, Annabeth," I cut her off, smiling. "But I want to visit my mom and Chiron. Just letting you know."

"Oh," she answered. "I'll come with you."

I wasn't really expecting this. I kind of expected her to send me back to my room, kind of like an angry mother to a child. "Really?"

"Sure, Percy. Let me just get my jacket, and we'll tell the people at this tower," she laughed and walked to her closet to get a jacket. "Come on," she said once she was out of her room.

We walked to the elevator, which we took down to the first floor. We walked to the front desk. "Uh, can we go out of the tower? We have to visit a couple of people," I told the security guard at the ultra-cool electric revolving door.

He said, "Sir, two of the half-bloods would like to exit the tower."

"I think I - oof!" Annabeth elbowed my side to shut me up.

"He has an earpiece. He's talking to someone else," she hissed in my ear.

Oh, right. I knew that.

The security guard said, "Tykers, Velano, report to the front door lobby." He turned toward us. "Your security guards are on their way."

"I didn't know we were that important," I joked. Annabeth looked at me. "Uh, thanks . . . Bobson," I said, squinting at his name tag. He didn't answer. Rude manners much?

In no time, two buff security guards walked in and stood next to Annabeth and me. Bobson stepped aside and Annabeth and I walked through the revovling door, Tykers and Velano following us.

"Uh, so do we get a car?" I asked.

"Parking garage is on the left," Tykers said. "I will drive, Velano here will sit in the back with you." We took a sharp left and arrived at a car. Tykers took the wheel and said, "Pile in. One of you on either side." Velano went into the middle first, and Annabeth went in the right seat, while I went in the left. Tykers started the ignition and we drove out. "Where to first?"

I told him the address of my house and he drove. I kind of felt uncomfortable to talk to Annabeth with Velano in between us, and I could tell that Annabeth did too.

We arrived in about thirty minutes, and I can tell you, Tykers drove slow. He never crossed the speed limit on the freeway, and  he didn't even go close to them on the streets.

But, we got there nonetheless, and I knocked on my mother's door. It flung open. "Percy!" Paul exclaimed.

"Hey, Paul," I answered, ecstatic to see him and my mother. "How've you been?"

"Good, but Sally's been worried that you haven't messaged her recently," he replied. He noticed Annabeth. "Hey, Annabeth!"

"Hey, Paul," Annabeth answered. "I've been good, before you ask."

But that's when Paul noticed the security guards. "Percy? Annabeth? What's going on?"

I sighed. "Kind of hard to explain, Paul. Can we come in?"
