Fury POV

This wasn't good. These people, who are apparently called "half-bloods". They had supernatural powers, such as being pyro kinetic and charming people with their voice. I didn't know if we could trust them yet. A lot of them were extremely, smart, and they had gods for parents. I didn't know if the gods would frown down upon us and smite us with godly power, or something. But right now, we needed to keep them here. I've offered them rooms, With what Agent Romanoff told me about Central Park, I can say that they're important. Maybe we'll need them. This giant may be like another Loki. If he has an army, that's bad news. He seems powerful too.

Agent Hill came rushing into the room. "Director Fury, one of the half-bloods fainted. Out of nowhere. He was in the middle of his sentence and he had a seizure—"

"So take him to the infirmary!" I yelled and rushed out of the office. Sometimes, my Agents can be quite idiotic.

"Already done, sir. His girlfriend called him 'Percy'. The doctors are working on it right now."

"Anything else?" I demanded, briskly turning a corner.

"No—where are we going? The infirmary's that way," Agent Hill said, abruptly turning to a stop.

"But the trauma room's that way," I said, pointing to a door on the corridor. I pushed the door open, hoping to find a girl and some friends, or something, but I found . . . nothing. Well, I found an agent standing by the door into the infirmary. "Where's his girlfriend?" I asked.

"Well . . . she kind of kneed me where it hurts and locked me out. . . ." He said, wincing.

I huffed. "You couldn't knock it down?"

"The thing is made of steel," he replied.

I held my hand out to Agent Hill, and she handed me a bobby pin. I picked the lock easily and barged into the room. "Who are you?" I demanded from the blonde girl at the side of the bed.

"Shut up," she told me, holding a finger out. I then noticed the tears glistening on her lashes, and I decided to be a but more gentle.

"Can you please—" I started. She held her finger out and said, "No."

"Annabeth Chase, right?" Agent Hill asked from beside me.

"Yes. Now, my boyfriend is in a coma, so I'd like it if you please shut up," she told us, her voice choking a little. I glanced at the boy laying on the bed. His eyelids were somewhere between closed and opened, and on his mouth was a ventilator. I heard the blonde murmur something with his name, and I saw a tear slide down her cheek. She finally turned to face us. "What do you want?"

"We'd like you to ask some questions about your boyfriend," Agent Hill said, glancing at the boy.

Annabeth's eyes flickered to him, and she sighed. "Okay." She got up and walked her way out, and we followed. She sat down, and so did we.

"So, what's his name?" Agent Hill asked her.

"Percy Jackson," she replied, wiping the corners of her eyes.

"How did it happen?"

"He was in the middle of the sentence when—you know," Annabeth told Agent Hill miserably.

"Did he eat or drink anything from this tower?"

"No. Only a blue cookie he brought along."

"How old is Percy?"

"He'll be turning nineteen in August."

"Does he have any enemies you might know of?"

"Most of them are unable to do much. There's this lady who's sort of in a coma, most are dead."

I frowned. "You kill people?"

"Only in self-defense," Annabeth said. "Things like monsters, gods who don't like us, that stuff. They always attack first."

"Ah."

"Okay, thank you, Annabeth. Our doctors will look into it, and if there's anything you need, just ask us," Agent Hill said, standing up.

"You're welcome,"  Annabeth answered in a hollow way, staring at the floor. Agent Hill and I exited the room and parted ways.

Percy POV

I was standing along the sea in Camp Half-Blood. I smiled. The sea was always my home, my favorite place. I literally was born from it. The sandy floor was littered with footprints, as if a crowd had been here. Maybe the Fourth of July? I dunno. I sat on the shore, just feeling the wind blow on my face. The sea morphed into the lake, which I was suddenly sitting at. I stood up and walked in so my feet were wetted by the waters of the lake. I looked at the surface and noticed two people, kissing in the lake in a bubble. That's when I noticed the people around me. They were more like apparitions, with their hazy selves cheering for Annabeth and I as we were in the lake, waiting to come up. But we didn't. I watched my younger self and Annabeth, thinking of how good life is and was, other the the turns.

Seeing myself younger wasn't as creepy as you'd think. It was like looking at a photograph or video of you when you were younger. A little embarrassing, very joyful. I sat down, just enjoying the times. But that's when everything froze. A new apparition formed that became more solid as he spoke. "Hello, Son of the Sea." He looked to be a young adult, maybe twenty-five. He reminded me of Luke—cool-looking, easy-going looking. His platinum blond hair was windswept like mine. But his blue eyes and smile, filled with cruelty, betrayed the ordinary image. "What do you want?" I demanded and felt for Riptide in my pocket, but it wasn't there.

"Oh, none of that," the man chided. He looked me, as if summing up everything I was with a glance. "You don't look like much," he said.

I tried to control the water of the lake, but I felt resistance. Something was stopping me from using it.

"I wanted to give you a happy memory before you die," the guy said.

"How nice of you," I spat out at him.

"You're welcome," he said. "I expect you know why you're here."

Everything came flooding to me. He was going to take away my powers. I didn't know where I got the knowledge from. "Not in your wildest dreams," I told him, gritting my teeth. I could already feel my power being sucked away from me.

"You face a danger to me, Perseus. You're the only one who can match me. I need to change that." He paused. "I expect you know my name too?"

The name rolled of my tongue. "Aegir."

"Very good," he answered, smiling even crueler than before. "Well, goodbye Perseus Jackson," he said. He thrust his hand out and I crumpled. He was sucking away more than my magical powers. My power to live. I wouldn't let that happen. He can take my power away from me, but he won't take away my friends. I will get to see them. I will get to see Annabeth.

I took a breath in and woke up from my coma.
