but found ourselves on splitting roads

fright filled my vision as blood ran out

and the joy left your ocean blue eyes

he threw me in chains but i saw truth

and i knew freedom was worth the price

nobody told you what love really meant

as you stared at your tear-stained cheeks

together we break free and build a home

where courage is not the absence of fear

at the crossroads they say fight or flight
