if only i were not afraid of heights

i would wish that i could grow wings

the sparrows fly freely without knowing

where they go or when they arrive

but perhaps something deep inside

ensures they are in the right place

the compass of their hearts beats strong

never drowned out by a pounding nerve

my ship has crashed beyond the waves

surely my journey has come to an end

but my Father is not only the mapmaker
