the other girl i become in my dreams

often finds herself flirting with death

i wonder if it's because she's bold enough

to know her unconsciousness is strong

or if it's because she's too scared

to fly through the heavenly clouds

if the man in the corner chose to shoot

would she stay and cry or run and hide

i never get to see the story end

because i'd rather tear my throat out first

nobody hears the sobs coming out

as she begs God to take her home
