loneliness has molded its way

to be my closest acquaintance

i despise it with my weary bones

but it was steady through the years

in all my nights of solitude

i would never foresee us

touching our fingertips to the string

that pulled us into each other

what rarity that we may find

our way together miles apart

perhaps this connection is all we need

to know that God somehow cares

your heart was touched by a stranger

what a unique sensation to know

that you are fully understood

by someone you've never seen
