Chapter Nineteen

Annabeth stood next to Piper, fluffing out her veil. Piper stood anxiously clutching her dress, excitement coursing through her.

"Please let me peek," Piper begged as Annabeth readjusted her dress.

Annabeth smiled before finishing Piper's dress readjustments. "You're so impatient, you know that?"

Piper shrugged. "Hey, it's my wedding day. I get to be impatient."

Annabeth rolled her eyes. Piper was right, in her eyes. She remembered her own wedding and how anxious she'd been. She'd yelled at Thalia, her best friend and maid of honor, several times over many petty things. "Alright, you're done. Turn."

Annabeth helped Piper turn to see herself. Piper started tearing up as she peered at her reflection.

Piper was dressed in a white mermaid style dress with intricate lace. Her brown locks were curled and half way up. She had simple earrings and makeup, but looked stunning.

It was an oddly warm September for New York but Piper's wedding was inside, so that didn't matter to her. Piper had chosen to get married two months after her engagement, she justified it by simply saying 'I don't want to wait'.

"You ready?" Annabeth asked as she readjusted her lilac bridesmaid's dress. Annabeth was Piper's maid of honor. Hazel, Calypso, Juniper, and her half-sister Lacy were her bridesmaids.

Juniper gasped as she entered the room, dressed in an identical lilac dress to Annabeth's. "You look stunning, Piper!"

"I sure do, don't I?" Piper asked, her smile reaching her ears.

"Well, you're needed shortly," Juniper said, still admiring Piper's dress. "The ceremony is about to start."

Piper nodded. "Yeah, I know. It's just, c-could you two just give me a moment alone please?"

"Of course," Annabeth answered and pulled Juniper out into the hall with her.

"Annabeth, I need to tell you something," Juniper whispered as they were waiting in the hallway. "I'm pregnant again."

Annabeth smiled. "That's great news! How far along are you?"

"Two months," she confessed. "Don't tell anyone, though. It's kind of a secret. I don't want to ruin Piper and Jason's big day. Also, Grover's telling Percy so you don't have to keep it a secret from him."

"That's smart. Frankly, I'm afraid of bride Piper," Annabeth chuckled. Piper had promised not to be a bridezilla, but had failed at that promise. Only Jason was worst, which was why Annabeth was thankful she wasn't Percy, one of Jason's groomsmen. "Well, congratulations."

"Thanks," Juniper said. "Grover's stoked. We told Evan, but he didn't really get it being a six month old an all."

Annabeth laughed. "I'm sure he'll understand better when they baby comes."

Piper's door burst open and she sauntered out, a smile plastered to her face. "Let's go. I'm gonna get married!"

Annabeth chuckled and led Piper to the main hall. "You sure are happy, huh?"

Piper smiled. "I'm ready. This is overdo, after all. I've known Jason for, gods, ever."

Juniper readjusted Piper's veil, wished her luck, and then linked arms with Grover. They walked in first, followed by the rest of the bridesmaids and groomsmen.

Annabeth couldn't help but feel lonely as Percy was inside already with Jason.

"You ready?" Annabeth asked Piper with a smile.

Piper nodded. "Yes, of course I am."

Annabeth headed into the main room where everyone was waiting. She quickly made her way next to Juniper and across from Percy. Percy winked at her and she flashed him a smile in response.

The music resumed and Piper was led out by her dad, Tristan McLean. He led her to the end of the aisle where Jason was nervously waiting.

"Hello, everyone. Today we are gathered in the celebration of Piper McLean and Jason Grace's love.

"Piper McLean, do you take Jason Grace to be your husband, through sickness and health?"

Piper smiled at Jason. "I do."

"Jason Grace, do you take Piper McLean to be your wife, through sickness and health?"

"I do," Jason responded with a slight blush appearing on his face.

"I now pronounce you husband and wife."

"Now introducing Mr. and Mrs. Grace!"

Jason and Piper walked into the room them had rented, arm in arm, both wearing silly grins.

"Congratulations, you two," Percy said as they took a seat near them. "You're officially married."

Piper blushed. "I know, and I'm so happy."

After speeches, dinner, and dances everything calmed down. More people were staring to leave and Jason and Piper were struggling to stay awake.

Near midnight Percy and Annabeth ended up at the open bar, both unable to recall how much they had drank that night, although it was obvious the two were drunk.

"Hey guys," Juniper said, pulling up a seat next to the two.

Annabeth smiled. "Hey! It's Juniper!"

"What is she still doing here?" Percy asked. "You should be home!"

Juniper rolled her eyes. "Yeah, you two are obviously drunk. Do you need a ride home?"

"Pfft! She doesn't know what she's talking about," Percy said with a grin. "We're totally stable. Right, Annabeth? Annabeth?"

Annabeth blinked. "Totally."

Juniper sighed before getting up. "Alright, then. I'll call you two tomorrow, but I doubt you'll remember this."

"No we won't!" Annabeth said.

"Okay, there's no way I'm leaving you two alone," Juniper said. She grabbed both of them. "Come on, follow me."

They were pulled outside by Juniper who quickly hailed them a taxi.

"Make sure they get home," she said, giving the man their address. "If I don't get a call from you two tomorrow I'm assuming you got lost and I'm calling the police."

Annabeth rolled her eyes. "Juniper, you need to chill! We've got this!"

Juniper sighed. "Make sure you're safe."

And with that, the evening was over and all that remained of that night were massive hangovers and good memories.
