Chapter 8
Ace's POV:
"I am back everyone. I bought few dumbasses with me as well." Max said which earned a chuckle from me. No matter what's the situation Max will always find a way to lighten the mood with his stupid attitude.
Jason cm to the corridor as soon as he heard Max's loud voice. He was looking tired. I gave him a bro hug and pat his back. I left everything on him. The gang, covering the house blowing up and on top of it all now he found Chance with memory loss and was taking care of her too. "You need to sleep, man. I will take care of everything just rest for few days." I added seeing that he was going to object.
"I will rest, but not now. I missed you boys I am not sleeping before we catch up on everything." Jason said while moving his hand through his hair. Mason pat his back showing his support. "I missed you too."
"So, none of you missed me, huh?" Max said, while faking a heartbreak. We all rolled our eyes at him when familiar chuckle could be heard from the other side.
"Are you always such a drama queen?" Her voice. Chance's voice. As I heard it I turned towards her so fast I thought I would fall. She was. Standing there, leaning on the doorway.
Her one hand was wrapped around the cup while other was bandaged and she was looking at all of us. Seeing that attention was on her she looked away from us and walked to the kitchen with her cup in her hand.
Mason and me still stood there looking at now empty place. Smile broke in to my face as I looked at Jason. "She is here, she's well and alive." I say and finally understood the realness of this words.
I rushed into the kitchen and looked at her once again. My stomach got butterflies by just looking at her. She stared back at me, and searched my face with her eyes.
"You seem really familiar." She finally mumbled. I took a seat in front of her on the kitchen island. Blair was there too but she was slowly moving away to give us some privacy.
Chance noticed it but didn't say anything to Blair. "Do you remember something about me?" I asked with hope. There should be something that she remembers about me, about us.
Her brown eyes concentrated on her cup as she thought. "Not memories, I remember your voice. Calling my name and I think asking if I am alright? I don't know this doesn't make any sense to me." She sighs and leans back on her chair. "It does make sense to me. Last time we saw each other was that night in the club, you were acting weird even hasty I might add. I asked you if you were alright and then when you pushed me to the car I called for you." I say as I remember everything that happened at that night.
It was a week ago, but it felt like centuries.
Chance was looking sad now. She looked up at me. "We were dating right?" I nodded without breaking eye contact with her. "You were pretty cute together too. Power couple of this house." Mason said as he sat near me.
Chance looked at me and both of us blushed. Why the fuck am I blushing?
"How you feeling Chance?" Mason asked. He always treated her like a little sister. He was doing it now too. His eyes scanned her arm and then looked at her face.
She nodded. "Fine, I guess." She looked back at me and then back at Mason. "You both are part of the gang, too right?" She was now looking at us with her testing stare. Max called it 'death stares of Rose'.
"Yes, we are. We are all working together." Mason explained. Chance nodded knowingly. " I assume you are the leader." She said. "Well, after me of course." Chance added with a smile.
I rolled my eyes at her ever-so-present-ego.
"What's your job in the gang?" Chance turned her attention to Mason. He shifted in his place to get more comfortable. "Well, all kind of things but mostly I watch out after these kids so they won't get their asses in to the problems." I nudged him with my shoulder.
"You are not so old yourself huh? To be exact, I am older than you for few months." I said and Mason groaned. I always brought this up and he always hated it.
"Says who, the guy who got so drunk that he threw up his guts in next few days." I just smiled sheepishly at Mason's statement.
Chance shook her head at us and stood up from her place. "You all are like little kids." She mumbled and put her cup on the dishwasher.
She looked at me, our eyes locked and she looked down. Chance shifted from one foot to other and fiddled with her hands.
Signs of her discomfort were easily seen. Not like usual. Usually she wasn't disturbed easily and even if she was you had to tear down her brick walls to reach the source of the problem.
"Um, so, good night people, I better get sleeping." She simple nodded at us and walked away.
After her footstep faded away me and Mason looked at each other. "Her arm seem to be good, if she can walk and move half of her arm without pain." He speculated. "Her arm will heal, but her brain, will it heal too? That's what I wonder." I said my thoughts out loud.
"Hopefully she will remember everything. Even if she doesn't, what stops us from creating new memories for her to remember?" Mason somehow was like an encyclopedia of good advices.
