Chapter 19

Ace's POV:

"I volunteer to stay behind." Max waved his hand around. "Max, I am not going to potential fight without my best fighter." I explained and he huffed.

"Then, I could stay here and monitor everything. Jason has been helping me to improve my skills on that field." Blair suggested and Jason nodded eagerly.

"So, me and Jason stay in the van with the fake drive, Ace, Max go to deal with miss handcuffs and Mason monitors from inside to make sure that everything goes smooth." Chance said to make sure that everyone has been given a duty.

After one more test run on plan everyone went back to their room to prepare while Max was contacting other to make sure everyone was showing up.

The main plan was to make sure that mole knew where our files were, and then make it look like Chance and Jason abandon their posts, leaving the files without any protection.  When he/she comes closer to the files bang, he gets shot in the leg by Chance. Because she refuses to simply knock him out.

"So, we have to head out in 30 minutes and I still haven't managed to put on this wig. Blair could you help me." Chance said as she walked in with her supplies.

"Why do you even need it, you will stay in the van. Just put up your hoodie, it will be dark and no one will notice anything."  I objected but she shook her head.

"There is a possibility of all Scotland Yard showing up in any minute. I am not gonna risk it." Chance said while giving Blair the wig which she examined thoroughly before trying to put it on.

"Your own hair is to thick and long. It's hard to hide it all away under the short wig." Blair objected. Chance hissed as Blair pulled her hair. "I know, but I didn't have time to get haircut or longer wig. Also, I don't wanna draw suspicion on me. Not everyone wants short bright blue wig around here."

I ignored them and started to put on my own wig and lenses. I need to think about how I am going to trick Angela in to believing me. Of course, Chance and Jason made a good job of creating a code without any solutions. Like puzzle without important connecting puzzles, our code is simply unsolvable because there is no solution to it.

"Gather up idiots, we have really important mission."  Mason called out to everyone. "We are going to do 2 things tonight. Luckily, you'll only have to worry about one. Just keep your eyes open, and be ready to attack in any moment."

"What's the second thing?" Someone asked. Just what we needed.

"Protection of our files. The program that we are selling is still processing our files. So, Rose is over there, with another fighter making sure that installment still continues while the program itself is far away." Mason pointed to the side of the road where our van was standing.

"Can you hear me clear?" Chance's voice sounded through walkie talkie.

"Yes, inform us if something happens." I answered back. "Keep an eye on this. Rose will be sending updates through it." I warned and put it in the table where everyone put their weapons.

Trap was set. The only remaining problem was trying to keep it going with Angela, so that others have time to draw out the mole.

"Guys, can everyone hear me?" I heard Blairs voice through earpiece. "Clear." I said and voices of others agreed.

"So, I am listening to any incoming police warnings and reports. If they send out a team to your location I will know. There are no cameras on streets but the once on the warehouse entrance and second floor work good. I will let you know when mole heads out." Blair said and I nodded to myself while thinking all of this over.

"Me and Chance will tell you when we see him. Mason after he goes out you can come and join us too. Try not to stay too much over there. In case of police showing up and all that." Jason said and I looked at Mason we exchanged knowing glances and he spoke.

"Great then. See you there."

I went to the first floor and looked around. This place used to be a night club, so the windows of the second floor are filled with weird pictures and posters, you can't really tell what's behind them.

Me and Max head to the back of the building. The place where I have told Angela to meet us. Soon enough she was there. I didn't hear her car's engine or any other sound. Must have parked far away from here.

"Good evening, gentleman." Her voice sounded stern and all business like. I smiled and stepped forward. She was standing farther away from us. Wise choice.

"Angela, good to see you." I said and nodded. I looked her up and down making sure that she didn't have any weapon on her.  "I think you remember Cade? My right hand man." I motioned towards Max. He was wearing his hood and black lenses to hide his blue eyes.

Angela looked at him, trying to see the details of his face, when she didn't find anything suspicious or worth noting, she nodded and turned her attention back to me.

"Shall we?" with a smile she started to approach us.  She hasn't changed much since our last meeting. Still same manners, still same fox eyes and weird gleam on her face.

Still same ass.

We walked inside the warehouse and Max went to the back to bring the program. He would come back after exactly 20 minutes, to stretch the time and to give me time to make Angela forget about her main mission and concentrate on me.

If I get over her wall of protection I can make her stay here more than necessary giving us even more time to finish everything up with mole. If Angela wants to call back up as she sets the deal, we need to make sure that there won't be anyone or anything when back up comes.

I took of my coat and looked at her suggesting her to do the same. "No offense but for procedure I need to check you. Remember no weapons or tricks." I warned and stepped closer to her.

"Check me all you want." She said with agreement. I am afraid that she might enjoy this checkup.

I started from her shoulders and started to pat around trying to see if she has brought anything in. I checked her spine and moved to the front and looked at the collar of the shirt, usual place for listening bugs.

"This reminds me of that one time." She whispered to me. I didn't exactly remember what she was talking about. "We had too many of 'that one time's" I said and she chuckled. "Yeah, we did. But this one didn't go till the end."  She placed her hands on my shoulder and moved towards my neck.

I was taller than her, so she was standing on her tiptoes to reach me. This also made her stand even closer to me. It felt really familiar. I remember us doing this quite a lot. I would pin her from her shoulders and she would cling to my shoulders.

"That time, I had an urgent work. I left before we could go any further." I said with sudden memory of it and stepped to the side making her arms drop from my shoulder.

I continued on with checking until I found something in her back pocket. "Seriously? Handcuffs? Right here?" I said in a joking yet serious manner. She smiled innocently and took them back from me. She put them inside her shirt, I think under her bra and smiled once again.

From the earpiece I could hear the sudden laughter of others and tried to keep it together. "I think I might stay for few more minutes just to make sure that when I walk back in you are properly dressed." Max said and Mason's chuckled. "No delays, just go through it. Don't act like you haven't walked in on them before."

Great, continue to joke and humiliate me while I try to seem serious.

"No harm from them I guess." I said and walked to the table. Angela's heels clicked faster as she approached me. She sat right in front of me and looked at me with weird eyes.  "You haven't changed."

"Of course, I haven't. It was what?  2 or 3 years before." I casually said but she shook her head.  "No, it is 7 years. 7 years since I graduated from academy and you suddenly disappeared."

Holly fuck 7 years.

I shot her a tight-lipped smile. "7 years huh? Then you haven't changed much too." I said and she tilted head to the side. "Then I still can turn you on huh?" She leaned closer and I could feel her leg brushing mine.

I smiled and nudged her leg with mine. "Who said that you were turning me on?" Angela didn't seem fazed with my comment and continued to brush her leg to mine. I moved forward and hooked her leg to mine.

She chuckled. "Now that's the Grayson I remember. Rough and lovely at the same time."

With a smile I leaned forward. "All yours darling."  Just when she was leaning forward to meet me I moved back and heard slam of the door from the far back corner. Max is getting back.

"Hopefully, you are decent Ace." He joked to the earpiece and I suppressed a chuckle.  Max gave me the case and sat at my side.

"As I was saying, 7 years since we last talked. Why do you contact me now?" She said with half hearted professionality.

"I have found one certain thing, and decided that." I moved my leg towards hers. "The Police should know about it and have it."  Her heel was making a slow progress of moving up by my leg. "Especially one police officer that I know, should be the first to get her hands on to it."

"I just sent the message of going out of the van to investigate suspicious stuff." Chance said to the earpiece. This made me regain my self-control and act more with my brain than my hormones.

Angela turned me on. All her weird slutty behavior was rubbing of on me. I need to keep my head clear and be ready to kill her if necessary.

"What's that thing?" Angela asked and I cleared my throat before answering. She got the signal and her heel stopped fucking my poor leg.

"Hopefully, police know about the black market and its powers right?" I said and she nodded. "So, new product has been added there. It's the program which is said to allow and install any kind of data. Breaking in without leaving any trace and that kind of stuff." I said and waited for her reaction.

"How did you obtain it?" The question I was waiting for. "One of my costumers payed their debt to my night club with this. I checked and it is the real program of it." I said and Angela looked at me and then towards Max.

"Then why do you all suddenly want me to have it?" Now she is asking too much of clever questions.

"I saw someone walk out of the warehouse and go towards the van." Blair said and I could feel Max tense. Angela noticed it too.  I leaned forward and got closer to her to avert her attention form Max.

"The only remaining copy of that program is this. Others were destroyed by attackers." I whispered it to make her even more interested.  "I don't need mark on my back for some program." I said and her hands took a hold of mine.

"Do you say that you can't protect yourself from that attackers?" She teased. Her fingers were tapping lightly on my hand.

"I am heading out of the building to join Chance and Jason." Mason said through earpiece. This means that they might capture the mole in next 5 minutes.

"I am saying that, I don't want to go to jail for murder of few hackers." I said and moved back.

"I, as a civil person, want to give you the program which could be used to catch these hackers and bring them to justice." I finish and look at her.

"I suppose I could take the drive containing the program. After all, It could be left in front of my car with a note." Angela said. Great, she already thought of the back story of drive.

I nod agreeing with her. I give her my hand and we shake hands. As she walks out Max gives her the case and she looks at me one more time I nod and smile towards her. This, probably makes her think that I might see her around.

Me and Max wait until Angela has made it to the side of the road to make sure that she won't come back to attack us.  Then we quickly walk inside and rush out through the front exit. "Did we get him?" I ask through the earpiece.

Line stays silent. This isn't something good. Me and Max exchange looks and start to run. Max dials Blairs number and she picks up immediately.

"Why aren't you answering through the earpiece?" He asks. "What? I don't understand tech-language."

I see van from the distance and see Mason walk out of the forest. This road is surrounded by it. If our mole is there finding him will be really hard.

"The connection between earpieces are broken. They were all connected if one of them brakes all of them stop working." Max put his phone on the loud mode and Blair was explaining it again.

"This means that someone's earpiece is broken. Meaning, that they might have gotten attacked." I thought out loud.

We reached Mason and he nodded. "They were attacked."
