Chapter 70: Meeting Her
"I'm here. This is where it all ended. I missed the place as much as I didn't," said Arorhea Laghari, walking through the hallways,
"and when I'm finally back here, I'm honesty too frightened to take another step," she stepped inside the grand living room.
"Woah! You're here!" Greeted Mrs. Helberg, "Arorhea, I'm so proud of you." Rhea was stunned.
"For coming back here, for fighting your battles. Are you ready for it?"
She gulped, "y-yes?"
She trusted her and so she finally took a breath of relief in front of her,
"Ember made me do it. Though I'm not as courageous as you may think."
"Um, so..." She smiled and the maid poured them some tea, "you do like my son, huh?"
The tea she sipped burned her tongue as she stood up, flushing. Mrs. Helberg chuckled and told the maids to bring her something cold to drink.
"Do you have a plan?"
"Um...I don't but...I do know something that everyone should be informed of."
"What is it?" She asked.
"Mrs. Rosa Parks....um....hated her grandson's fiancée because they were secretly engaged. And that fiancée isn't me. His fiancée was back in India when all of that happened. And all of that was merely an accident!" She sipped her cup,
"yes, I've heard of that. Ember informed me."
"H-how did he-"
Ember walked in the room with Maple and Loraine alongside.
"We did quite the research at India," Maple said.
"We even met Miss Lia who told us everything," Loraine said.
"So we were always by your side," Ember smiled.
"You guys....." Rhea looked at them, blushing.

Loraine took Rhea to show her, her stay. Ember had went to the conference room to inform his father about his arrival.
"You can't leave the room," Loraine said.
"Don't open the windows and the balcony door..."
"I understand."
"We can't let Mr. Helberg know about your presence at any cost." She nodded.
"I'll tell the maid to serve you dinner here. Are you hungry?" She nodded and after the dinner went to bed.
She's a person who would fall asleep on any surface, at anytime, in any circumstances. But tonight she was wide awake. Blinking even less than the hours that passed in this building.
She heared a knock at the door. A knock? At this hour of the night? This wasn't instructed to her. There were hundreds of people in the building. It could've been anyone. But it was Loraine.
"H-hey," she opened the door. The hallway lights were dimmed and his face glowed in the light of her room.
"Don't open the door so quickly! It could be dangerous," he scolded her, "moreover you're alone in the whole floor."
"Um. Pardon?" He grabbed her hand, closed the door of her room and run through the hallways with her. The elevators were out so they took the stairs.
"Be careful," he said as she made a sound while slipping off of a stair.
"I'm exhausted from all this climbing!" She complained while Loraine ignored her to unlock the terrace door.
"We're here," he smiled. But it was too dark all the way to even see his face. It was the voice that kept reminding her who he was. As if it was Ember with a deep and husky voice.
"The world must be sleeping right now," Rhea said,
"but it doesn't seem so..."
"So bright, isn't it?" He smiled and then she finally saw his face lit up as he faced the city lights from 99th floor terrace top.
"I'm glad I got to see this view once more in my life," she sighed, "if only I didn't get involved with that stupid case!"
"I know...it must be traumatic for you," he sympathized for her.
"Have you ever been in such a position where you don't know if you have an assured future anymore?"
"You know...I never had a trauma in my life other than this one time when I was in an extremely adverse condition and my parents worried I wouldn't make it out of it and live to see another year.
And I started wondering is they were actually right...." He sighed,
"actually, that was the most horrible time of my life. And I swore to myself I wouldn't be scared to anything anymore. I'd live or die with no regrets and fear."
"You..." Rhea whispered as the wind blew colder and ran through her hair, "you're really brave, Loraine...and kind."
His eyes widened, "thank you for saying that but...even though I don't remember every bit of my past life, I always feel like I used to be the kind of person who would hurt others. I don't remember that though. I feel this could be a memory that I forgot or-" He stopped talking and looked at her. As if there was something more to say but he just didn't want anyone to know about it.
He removed the cardigan from his body and wrapped it about her shoulder, "so I try to be a nice person. For the person who changed me," he smiled,
"it's so breezy. I'm sorry for bringing you here." He turned her around and they walked inside the building. They walked together until they separated at her room's door.

The next morning shined. Another busy day at the company. A noble-like lady walked into the chaos with her high platform heels.
Papers lying in the ground of the reception and busy feet walking in and out of the building. A woman who worked in the company approached her,
"how can I help you, miss?"
"I heard he's back," she smiled. Almost a crooked one.
"I'll take you to meet Mr. Helberg," the employee said, pressing the elevator switches," he's been waiting for you since morning."
She rolled her eyes.
* * * * *
The grand living room's door opened and she stepped in alone. She looked around at the antiques in display and roman tapestries on the wall. The lights were off, the sun was the only source.
The butler and the maids slided the curtains of the huge windows to make more of it.
"Welcome, Sabrina," laughed Mr Helberg.
"I heard he's back," she smiled, repeating her words.
"Of course, he is."
The other butlers brought in Ember to the room. All dressed up by them. He was shocked to encounter her so early after returning hons. She rushed to him.
"How are you?" She asked him with a genuine smile, and arms behind her, lifting up her body much higher. But those heels still couldn't help her match his height.
"Could have been better," he said underneath his breath in gibberish, "but why are you here?"
Mr. Helberg coughed, "she's here for an important event this afternoon."
Ember sighed, "a welcome party?"
"Of course. For you."
"You should be happy," she held his hand firmly with both of hers.
"And also, I have announcements you're not ready for," he left the room, grinning mysteriously.
* * * *
"Ladies and gentlemen, our business partners and co-workers!" Spoke Mr. Helberg as the center of attention in the banquet hall with a drink in his hand, "this afternoon, right now, I have an announcement to make," the people squeezed in towards him making a circle. "I would like to call my son,
Ember Cardilia Helberg up here," he smiled to the people present at the very moment who scattered as Ember made his way through them. Two men followed him. Sabrina appeared from the crowd and stood next to her father and Mr. Helberg, "I would like to announce the engagement of Ember Helberg and Sabrina Wilson!"
Everybody gasped but the majority applaused for them. Aed, who didn't seem to know about this before, tried to draw his attention but failed.
"What are you talking about??" Ember yelled as one of the men who followed him earlier took out the rings, "we're barely out college! What are you thinking?!"
"Even nobles got engaged at the earliest age of 5. Hence, I presume you are old enough for a marriage?"
"But there is no possible way that I'm ever getting married to her!" He shouted.
"Ember! Don't forget your manners!"
Ember slammed the door close leaving the people inside in distress whilst Sabrina stood frozen with her hands getting cold.
Ember got to Rhea's room to check on her. She was sitting on the couch playing the live from the engagement banquet hall. She was not too surprised to see him at her door, panting heavily from the long run. She had a smile that didn't appear to be real.
"He's not completely wrong," she said softly, "you can exchanges the rings now and the vows later with a proper age," she smiled after a while and looked back into her phone screen.
He walked towards her with long steps and grabbed her shoulders, "WHAT ARE YOU SAYING? DO YOU APPROVE OF THIS?!"
"I mean, she's meant to be your fiancée. There's nothing wrong wi-"
He grabbed her face with both of his hands, "stop it!"
She paused the video that was playing in her phone. The guests left in the last scene she had witnessed.
His eyes shined, "stop it!" He repeated.
"Wha...t?"
Maple walked in with the maids, "Mr. Helberg had sent for you."
"Being so dumb," he answered her and left her face and then the room. The maids started dusting and cleaning as Maple took Rhea out with him.
"Do you wanna have the banquet food?" He asked with a smile.
"Hmm!" She giggled.
"It's all to ourselves, untouched," he laughed along with her.
* * * * *
"DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW YOU RUINED EVERYTHING?" Yelled Mr. Helberg behind a huge pile of files, "we have been working for years with the Wilson's company and we did everything we could to maintain the good relationship."
"But why involve me?"
"If you get along with Sabrina Wilson we will have an even stronger bond with the Wilson's. We'll be one family and never have to face any financial issues, you stupid kid!"
"But I don't like her!"
"It had been so many freaking years! So many freaking years and yet you still didn't develop feelings for her?!" He stood up and slammed the table.
"No," he answered with a sarcastic smile. Soon Aed walked into the office and asked him to leave. He stood outside for a while, listening to his parents raising their voices at each other.
* * * * *
"....and what about you? How did you eat so much?" Arorhea asked.
"There were only 2 things I was good at in my past life-eating, and-" He paused.
"Past life, huh...?" Rhea thought and recalled the previous night at the terrace where Loraine also talked about his previous life or something.
Maple coughed it off and said, "I mean, I love food. I must be a foody in my past life too," he said nervously, "as...they influence our present one."
"In my past life...maybe I've been, what I am in this one," Rhea said absent mindedly, "the same."
Maple tried to change the topic but Rhea wouldn't stop.
"Do you think we can recall our past life?"
"...we can."
The sudden reply shocked her, "really??"
"Would you believe if I tell you I remember my past life?" Maple spoke with an unusual serious tone.
"Did you really?" She enquired and he nodded. That made her too excited, "can you tell me something about it?"
"I..." He hesitated, "I used to be Maple Helberg."
"But you are."
"I had the same name and..."
Loraine burst in, "MAPLE!! Come with me for a moment," and left. He followed him. The conversation he was having with Rhea scared him anyways.
"Did you really remember your past life??" Loraine asked him.
"Yes..."
"Me too!"
Maple looked at Loraine, Loraine looked at Maple, "UNBELIEVABLE!"
"Right?!"
"Soulmates!" Maple jumped on him and Loraine slammed him on the ground.
"You're still an Idiot."

The next scene follows where Ember, Arorhea, Maple and Loraine are in the car on the way to the place of the former mayor of LA. There was no security outside the building. It was an old, dusty, 2 story house with a huge yard. Though they had to take an appointment to talk to the owner of the resident, they didn't face boundaries and walked right in.
The old lady sat on her rocking stair with reading glasses on. Looking through files and passing them onto the men in formal attire. She looked exhausted and wrinkled.
"Excuse me," Ember geeted, "I'm Ember Helberg from Nason. I had an appointment with Mrs Parks," he said as the men left with half of the files and the maids served them tea.
"We wanted to talk about the accident that took place 5 years ago."
"Ugh!" She sighed in annoyance, "why bring that up after all these years?!" She roared.
"We're here to confess about your wrong accusation."
"What do you mean?" She coughed.
Ember held Rhea's shoulder, "do you remember her? You accused Arorhea Laghari of planning the death of Jacob Parks. Your grandson."
"What are you talking about?" She coughed again, "I don't even know her!" They gasped. How could that be?
Loraine stood up, "5 years ago, when that accident occurred, you blamed it on her, saying that she was seeing your grandson and she killed him because you opposed their relationship. You blamed it on her! She wasn't even related to the whole damn incident!" They were shocked to see Loraine so raged.
"Young man, I don't have any clue what you're talking about. There's the way," she pointed at the door.
"But we're trying to tell you something! Why don't you admit your mistake??"
"I'm already so stressed out with my work! Do you have any idea how much you're affecting my work?!" She said, way too outraged.
They left without causing any more trouble to her but they were frustrated because no outcome really came out of it. They returned to Nason. Rhea secretly went back to her room without being noticed by anyone.
To her surprise, a young lady sat on her bed with legs crossed and facing the door, "Arorhea Laghari?" She smiled and walked up to her, "wow, how are you? You've become so pretty," she eyed her.
"...Sabrina?"
"Yup, you guessed it right, Sabrina Wilson, whose engagement was called off and ruined by you. And you know what? You were not even in the scene?" She said sarcastically, "what a thing you are! You lured Ember in your shadow and now he's, like, possessed by you! YOU WITCH!"
"Listen! I'm not here to take your-" She paused. What could she say? What relation did Sabrina have with Ember anyways? "Your-"
"Fiancé."
"Yes, your fiancé, I'm not here to take your fiance away from you. I never intended to do that."
"Oh really? And you're telling me to believe that?" She scoffed, "THEN WHY THE HECK DO YOU SHOW UP AGAIN?!"
"It's true! I'm only here to prove myself! To prove that the blame that was put on me was just false accusation!"
Sabrina was taken aback, "tsk, she's still into that?" She thought.
"I couldn't live in peace. I can never live in peace with this guilt on my shoulder!"
Sabrina left the room immediately with high heels noises and Rhea took a breath of relief. She locked the door and jumped on the bed.
"But I know he doesn't like her...!" She thought, "ugh! Anyways! Not my concern!" She crazily tapped on her phone, switching on the bluetooth, airplane mode, GPS, switching of mobile data, sound, etc. She went to sleep.

Loraine stayed up for a couple of hours until he received a text saying, "I'm here:)"
He smiled and forwarded the message to Ember and Maple. The next thing he did was adding that person to their group chat, where, a few days later, they received another text from that same number,
"she had been declining my appointments for a week now! Though she's finally letting me meet her tomorrow!" Maple rejoiced,
"make sure to interview her" he typed.
"And also ask her about Rhea," Ember texted.
"Send the video directly to Mr. Wilson," said Loraine.
Maple: Loraine! You're a genius!
Lia: But do you have his email?
Ember: That's super easy to find! Loraine, search for it!
Loraine: THE HECK! If it's so easy, why don't you do it?!
Lia: Stop, you boys -.- I'm a journalist, I can find it myself -.-
Maple: Lia is amazing!
Lia: Don't forget I'm older than you, have some respect lol!
Maple: Don't forget it was me who found you! You were hard to find! It was like searching for a needle in the haystack!
Lia: XD
Ember: You're really gonna help us, right, miss Lia?
Lia: For sure:)
