11. Screaming Thoughts
"Here you go," Stiles says while slapping a twenty dollar bill onto the table. I raise an eyebrow as the kid across from him does as well, staring at the money as if it was play money.
"That's not the amount we agreed on," he says, his voice monotone. I scoff slightly before I glance over at Allison, who was watching me closely. I was told to watch Stiles and to make sure he didn't goof up the negotiation; but I wasn't sure what Allison wanted me to do if he did screw it up, and it wasn't going very good so far.
Stiles leans across the table, resting his chin on his hand. "Are you sure? I thought we agreed on twenty."
The kid looks unamused. "We agreed on fifty."
Stiles raises both eyebrows. "Really? Because I remember f-fourty."
Stiles reaches into his pocket before laying another twenty dollar bill down on the table, causing me to slap my forehead. This kid is literally asking for him to beat him up.
The boy stares at Stiles. "Fifty."
"Are you sure, because I remember the distinct f sound in fourty," Stiles says, his voice wavering.
The boy leans across the table. "It won't be the only word I say with the f sound if you don't-"
"Alright!" Stiles says while slapping a ten onto the table. The boy finally smiles before snatching the money, reaching out and handing Stiles a set of keys. Stiles grins before taking the keys, thanking the boy before getting up and walking back over to Scott and Allison. I do so as well as Allison nods towards me, thanking me silently for watching.
"Got them," Stiles says while sitting down next to Scott.
Scott raises an eyebrow. "What are you planning to do with them exactly?"
Stiles' mouth falls open. "Scott, we talked about this. We're going to the skating rink to ice skate-"
"I know that," he says, rolling his eyes. "I meant, who are you planning on taking?"
Stiles shrugs. "I was just planning on asking Lydia. I don't know about you bro."
Scott thinks for a moment before he slowly looks up at Allison, who was digging into a salad drenched in ranch. She doesn't see his glances before she looks up, chewing on a piece of lettuce.
"What?" she says, her mouth full. I laugh as she glances up at me, furrowing her eyebrows.
"Want to come ice skating tonight?" Stiles says, asking again before Scott had the chance.
Allison nods, smiling. "Yeah, sure! What time?"
Stiles thinks for a moment. "Around ten maybe."
Allison seems surprised by the time for a moment before she nods her head. She starts to take another bite of her salad as Stiles goes to stab at his spaghetti, but stops mid bite. I furrow my eyebrows as Scott and him drop their forks, staring at something behind Allison and I. That was when I turned around and knew what they were staring at.
Walking into the cafeteria was a completely new Erica. The Erica I had known or seen a couple of hours ago disappeared without a trace. This new Erica looked confident, flawless, and the thing I hated to admit, sexy.
She smiles as she walks into the room, her high black heals clicking as she walked. Her hair was now in loose curls and she even had make-up on her face. My eyes somehow trailed to her chest before Allison casually elbows me in the stomach, causing me to double over while groaning.
"What was that for?" I yell, staring at Allison.
She whispers sternly. "You know what that was for."
I roll my eyes before I look back up at Erica, seeing her walk over to some random boys tray and pick up an apple. She smirks as she bites into it slowly, obviously trying to look seductive to every boy in the lunchroom. The sad part was that it was actually working.
She takes one single bite of the apple before dropping it back onto the tray, grinning and walking out of the cafeteria. I stare at the doorway for awhile, trying to grasp what in the hell just happened.
I jump slightly when I see Lydia slap her hands onto the table, staring at the doorway as well. "What...the holy hell...was that?"
Allison looks up at Lydia, shrugging before Lydia groans and storms off. I guess someone was a little jealous about someone's new makeover. I stand up straight as I look over at Scott and Stiles, seeing that they were still completely mesmerized.
"Boys," Allison says at her normal tone. The two boys don't even blink before Allison yells this time. "Boys!"
They both jump before looking back at Allison, licking their lips. "What?"
Allison groans as Scott starts to stand, not saying a word before turning and running off after Erica. Allison starts to say something to Scott before she gives up, seeing that he wasn't going to listen anyways. She looks up at me before nodding towards the doorway, indicating for me to follow after him to see what was going on.
I nod before turning and running off after Scott, wondering what I was going to find when I caught up with the two of them. As I ran to find them, I figured I was either going to find them having a heated discussion or find them shoved up against the wall sticking their tongues down each other's throats. However, neither of those things were the case.
Instead, I found Scott standing in the doorway, watching as Erica got into a familiar black car. I furrow my eyebrows before she sits down, turning and grinning at Scott. That was when I saw that Derek was driving the car. Then, everything fell into place for me.
Derek turned Erica.

"I can't believe Derek is doing this," Allison says as she speeds down the road. "He can't be turning teenagers whenever he wants to."
I sigh. "Well, he's already turned two."
"I wonder who's going to be next," Allison says, her voice fading.
I look out the window. "I mean, he is giving them a choice. It's not like he's turning them without their own opinion."
Allison shakes her head. "Maybe, but they don't understand what it's like. Hell, I'm not even a werewolf and I know that I would never want to be one. They don't know about hunters and the full moon and-"
"What if they do?" I say, turning to Allison. "What if Derek is telling them everything before he turns them?"
Allison sighs. "It's not the same, Corey. There are a million ways to word things and Derek is definitely the one to sugarcoat things to get his way."
I shake my head as Allison pulls into the ice skating rink. "I don't know what's going to happen, but let's just forget about it for tonight. I want you to have a good time without being stressed about all of this."
Allison smiles while looking at me. "I won't have a good time unless you do."
I scoff slightly. "How am I supposed to have a good time? I'm dead."
Allison rolls her eyes. "Just because you're dead doesn't mean you can't have fun."
She starts to get out of the car as I think for a moment. "It kind of does."
Allison sighs. "Well, you're with me, and whenever you're with me, you have a good time."
"I bet that's right," I mumble under my breath as we walk into the skating rink, being greeted by Stiles, Scott, and Lydia as soon as we step through the door.
"Welcome to the party," Stiles says while rubbing his hands together. "May the fun begin."
I roll my eyes before Stiles turns and runs off towards the rink, snatching up a pair of skates that were his size. Allison smiles as Scott looks over at her, looking almost lovestruck and nervous. I could tell that he wanted tonight to be something more; most likely meaning that he wished something would happen between Allison and him. I couldn't decide whether I'd be happy or jealous if they ended up together. I wanted Allison to be happy but I also didn't want her with any other guys...I guess I just wanted her to be with me.
"Hey Lydia," Allison smiles at the strawberry blonde. Lydia smiles and nods before turning and following off after Stiles, grabbing another pair of skates along the way.
Allison turns to Scott then, smiling before walking forward, grabbing a pair of skates. "Ready to skate?"
Scott laughs. "Well, I don't exactly know how to ice skate."
Allison raises her eyebrows. "You've never been ice skating?"
"Nope," Scott says, shaking his head. "So no laughing at me."
Allison puts her hands up in a defensive manor. "I'll try my best."
I laugh at the two before they walk over to the stands, sitting next to one another and starting to tie their skates on. I watch them for a moment before I look up and see Lydia and Stiles talking, perking my interest. I decided to see what they were talking about; mostly because Allison had told me that Stiles had a crush on Lydia, who almost wanted nothing to do with him. I thought that whatever they were talking about must be interesting.
I walk up the bleachers before standing behind Lydia, who was clutching both of her arms as if she was cold. "Man it's cold in here."
Stiles raises his eyebrows before reaching into his bag, pulling out an orange shirt. "Here."
Lydia scoffs. "But it's orange."
"So?" Stiles says, extending his arm out further.
Lydia rolls her eyes. "I'm wearing blue, and orange and blue don't make a good combination."
Stiles lowers the shirt. "But blue and orange are the colors of the Mets."
Lydia rolls her eyes once again before continuing to lace her skates together. Stiles shoves the shirt back into his bag before he pull something else out, holding out a Reece's to Lydia. She ponders for a moment, thinking about taking it, before she does so. She digs into it as Stiles watches her, his eyes wide.
"You know, sometimes two things that don't seem like would make a combination turn out to be the best kinds of combinations," Stiles says, staring at Lydia longingly, who didn't even notice. "It can be food, clothes, or even people."
Lydia nods finally. "I can see it."
Stiles looks hopeful. "Really?"
Lydia nods while looking down at Scott and Allison, who were still putting on their skates. "They really are cute together. It's a shame neither of them see that."
My heart sinks a little as Stiles' hopeful expression fades. He slams his skates on the ground as Lydia continues to eat. "Yeah, they really are cute. So adorable."
I look up and see Allison stand, skates now on her feet. She looks up at me and smiles before nodding her head, indicating for me to follow her. I start to walk down the stands as Scott stands up as well, walking over to the rink carefully.
"Want me to show you some pointers?" Allison says as Scott grips the edge of the rink.
He shakes his head. "No, I mean, I am a werewolf and all. You know, I have the crazy reflexes and coordination. I'm sure I'll do fine."
Allison raises an eyebrow. "Alright then. Let's see it."
Scott nods as he steps onto the rink, going forward slowly. He smiles as he skates a little ways, cockiness getting the best of him. He looks over his shoulder at Allison. "See? Not that hard-"
He spoke too soon as he takes a step, slipping and falling to the ice below. He grunts as his shoulder hits the ice, a hard thump sound causing me to wince. He groans as he lays there while Allison laughs, trying to cover it up with her hand. She looks at me for a moment, rolling her eyes slightly by how much of an idiot her friend was.
"Here," Allison says while stepping onto the ice. She wraps her hands under his arm pits and lifts him upwards, almost as if he weighed nothing. Scott regains his balance before Allison lets him go, skating backwards to watch him.
"That was a test run," Scott says, still cocky. I cross my arms and watch as he attempts to skate forward, getting farther than last time before tumbling down to the ice.
Allison laughs. "What was that you were saying about reflexes?"
Scott looks up at her. "Hey, I said no laughing."
Allison skates over to him and tries to pull him up again. "And I said I would try my best-"
Allison cuts off after Scott tries to stand, holding onto her arms for support. He puts a little too much weight on her before they both fall to the ground, Allison landing right on top of Scott. I bite my tongue as the two laugh, making me feel something I couldn't explain. It wasn't jealousy; it was more like betrayal.
"I'm sorry," Scott laughs as Allison lifts her head up, her hair falling back into place.
She laughs. "It's fine. Happens all the time."
The two start to stand again, but I had already had enough. By the time Allison was on her feet again, I was already turned and heading out the doors of the skating rink. I couldn't stand to stay there and watch the girl I liked flirt with another boy; including the fact that I couldn't do anything about it. Plus, I felt like I was just in the way. I wasn't real; I was dead. I was dead and I was just another problem in Allison's life that she had to deal with.
I head down the dark hallway of the skating rink, heading towards the doors before I hear something behind me. I don't turn around before I hear Allison speak, causing me to stop in my tracks.
"Where are you going?" she says, innocent as can be.
I turn around, trying to play it off. "Just going to get some fresh air."
Allison walks closer. "Are you sure? You look a little off."
I sigh. "I'm fine Allison. Just not feeling this whole ice skating thing."
She nods her head stiffly. "Are you sure it's not just that?"
I was taken back for a moment, knowing that she knew exactly what was really wrong with me. She had a look on her face telling me that she knew I was jealous of Scott; that I hated seeing the way he acted around her.
I sigh. "Why ask when you already know."
Allison walks closer, not far away from me anymore. "Because I wanted to hear you say it, so I know for sure."
I stare at the floor, not wanting to admit it out loud. "Fine, I'm jealous of Scott."
Allison nods her head, already knowing that. "Corey, there's nothing to be jealous over. We're just friends-"
"No you aren't," I say, licking my lips. "You two have something more and I'm not the only one who sees it. Stiles and Lydia even see it. He likes you Allison, and it appears to me you like him too."
Allison raises an eyebrow. "Why do you care so much about who likes me?"
I bite my tongue, taken back by what she asked. I wanted to spill my feelings to her right there and then, but I knew that it was too soon. "I-I just don't want to see you get hurt, that's all."
Allison nods her head, but I could tell she knew the real reason. "Corey, you're a terrible liar."
I raise an eyebrow. "What makes you think I'm lying?"
Allison smiles. "Because you're doing that thing where your jaw clenches."
After she says this, I notice that I was in fact clenching my jaw. I relax it before sighing, lowering my head to the ground. I knew that I was defeated and that I needed to tell her how I really felt, but for some odd reason, I just couldn't do it. I think I was worried that I would lose her for good.
"Corey," Allison says, causing me to lift my head. She stares into my eyes as she speaks. "What is the real reason you're so jealous?"
I shake my head, deciding to tell her what I really was thinking. "Allison, I-"
I cut off as another blood piercing scream cuts through the air; the same sounding scream that came from Lydia the other night. Allison widens her eyes as I press my palms to my ears, but it didn't help any. I fall to the floor as things begin to blur; the words Allison were saying starting to slur together as well. Before long, I was having another vision like the last time.
This time, there weren't two other people in the room with Jade. She was sitting against the wall, her hand clutching onto her forearm. The vision blurs for a moment before I can see that she's been crying; since the mascara on her eyes was leaking down her face. I hear a sob come from her mouth before I look down and see blood drip from her arm, causing me to be even more confused.
"Why did this have to happen," she mutters, talking to herself. "Corey, I'm so sorry. This is all my fault."
After she says those last words, the vision fades away. I scream inside my mind to let me stay, to see a little bit more, but it was too late. I slowly start to hear Allison flood my thoughts before I gasp awake, sitting up to see Allison holding onto my shoulders.
"Are you alright?" Allison breathes before pulling me into a hug. I widen my eyes for a moment, confused as to what was happening before I wrap my arms around her as well, giving her some comfort.
"Y-Yeah, I'm fine," I stutter. "Where's Lydia?"
Allison pulls away from me then before standing up, turning and running off back to the ice rink. I slowly regain my balance before running off after her, wondering why Lydia was screaming.
When I turn the corner, I see Stiles and Scott in the middle of the ice, holding Lydia back as she sobbed. She seemed to of been staring at something in the ice, but I couldn't tell for sure. She looked as if something had spooked her; as if something or someone was talking to her again, but it wasn't me this time.
Who else could talk to Lydia?
