CHAPTER 1

This was supposed to be one-shot fic but yeah, I freaking can't write one even my life depends on it (-_-) I ended up thinking that it's better to have two chapters. I still haven't learned the lesson after updating my other stories slowly but here we go! Jumin's Bad Ending 3 has struck me a certain idea for a while but I couldn't bother to write it until now. I took it as a challenge for me to totally focus on this story without getting distracted. Hope you enjoy your reading and feel free to drop a comment if you have any!

WARNING : This story portrayed implied mental illnesses and suicidal thoughts.

CHAPTER 1

"Please take the dress I got for you. I'd be grateful if you wear it tomorrow. I apologize if I offended you in any way... I never thought you wanted to leave me so much."

Jumin was not stupid to not unable to comprehend anything that took place around him. He never responded to ludicrous rumours about him, not because he was blind nor deaf. Rather, he could not care less about them. He was too busy to care.

The same goes when everyone in RFA always made fun of him for being so clueless about the way commoners led their lives. He was not born as a commoner. What was he supposed to do then?

That was it until he met her or rather, when she was trapped in Rika's apartment by an unknown hacker before out of the blue, V assigned her as their new party coordinator.

"I don't know what you have been thinking. I trust you but it doesn't mean that I agree with the decision."

He did not trust the decision meant he did not trust her, their new member. Of course he was. All about her was suspicious. She trusted a stranger and strive to help the guy to find the owner of a lost phone. How gullible could she be? She could download and access their private messenger which had an insanely tight security. Who could guarantee that she did not hide any malice behind her innocent demeanor?

But, days passed and Jumin realized that was one of the reasons why he fell in love with her. It was because she was too innocent for this world. She got along well with everyone. She listened to them when everyone else was bored or busy.

Yet, Jumin never expected that she understood him and shared the same sense of humor with him when no one else bothered to.

The first time they talked on phone and she asked his opinion on her voice, Jumin was dumbfounded. He was charmed by how silky her voice was when she asked him. Was she a mind reader or something?

Maybe she was because it only took a few days for him to realize that she knew what he had expected to be comforted with. She understood him when he barely could understand himself.

"I feel like nothing's been going the way it's supposed to today. What do you call this feeling? "Upset"...?"

"Of course you're upset...! Are you really okay?"

She never judged. She never said insensitive remarks like how he could just forget everything and be happy with her. She never made fun of him for expressing his emotions for the first time. Never once she was sick of him for treating Elizabeth the 3rd like a queen. Never once she cared about how luxurious he could make her life in future.

All she cared was for him to feel comforted and happy.

"Since yesterday, I've felt as if I was standing alone in a noisy but empty field. I didn't want to talk and I didn't want to listen. Since the whole place was surrounded with noise."

"I am here, Jumin. You don't have to be alone."

"I'm happy to hear that. But... I don't know. When I'm not talking with you I feel... Oh, what I am saying? I can't believe I'm sharing my worries."

Yet, he ended up expressing what he truly felt one day.

"Can I meet you? Wait, no, it's better for us not to meet each other."

It was a sincere wish, deep from his lost heart and the God granted it unexpectedly. His assistant, Jaehee was not only capable but considerate enough to let him meet who he needed the most.

When he said that he needed someone to be able to see the tangled threads in his head, his assistant immediately sent the new RFA member to his penthouse. It was late in the evening when Jaehee was desperate for a help but she never complained. Instead, when he read through their chats on the messenger, it was her who offered to lend a hand in the first place.

God, at that time, he did not understand why and how she sparked a certain unfamiliar but warm feeling in his heart.

"Jumin... I'm so glad to finally meet you."

Long brown hair, a smile that melted his worry instantly and...

pretty eyes that spoke kindness and purity, that he could not help but stare at like an idiot.

"Oh, sorry. I can't help but keep staring at you. I still can't quite believe it."

Before they knew it, he had grown accostumed to see her in the penthouse. It was like she was meant to be here; with him. When Elizabeth the 3rd escaped from his house and went missing for days, he was so upset with the betrayal. He put her in a cage to protect the cat from the gold diggers and yet, the cat ran away as soon as he released her. He could not believe it and when he sunk into the harsh reality, she was still there, holding his hand to channel the comfort that he needed.

"Jumin, it's going to be fine. I will help you find her."

That was nice and considerate of her but no, it would not happen. He did not want the mistake repeated itself.

"No, just stay here. I don't want the same thing happen to you. I believe that it's way safer for you to be here."

That night, he returned home with despair that he never thought that he would experience. It dragged him down. His smart brain refused to cooperate and his heart was torn into pieces.

"I can't accept the fact that she tried to run away from me. I feel like all the love I've given her for years have gone to waste. How do I express how I'm feeling right now...? I feel as if I've been betrayed... I am sorry if this bothers you but... can you stay a bit longer with me?"

"I'll be here until you feel better, Jumin. You can trust me."

If only he knew that the desperate request would lead to his obsession which later caused her death, he would never dare to be that selfish. He would bottle up everything. After all...

He was a robot. He was a product for his mother. He was an emotionless son who was never interested in girls according to his father. He was a cocky bastard and corporate figure for other RFA members.

He was not supposed to feel. Feelings only made him weak and cloud his judgement.

When he finally embraced his feelings and tried his best to sort them out while keeping her by his side, the nightmare finally happened.

Her eyes earlier which were supposed to only speak sincerity and affection to him... now only spit horror to his anxiety.

She was scared of him for being so possessive, dominant and stubborn. She looked at him like she was kidnapped and abused.

To make it worse, his own best friend who decided to intervene also treated him like a criminal. V even threatened that if Jumin dared to be hard-headed, the RFA leader would not hesitate to call the police.

As usual, Jumin did not care what they thought of him.

As long as she was safe, just like V assured him, he was willing to swallow any kind of insults and objections.

As long as she was safe. That was all he wanted. After all, maybe they were right. He was too controlling. He was too anxious and expected her to follow his words... out of love.

Maybe it was the time for him to let her go and they would discuss further about their relationship after the party. After all, she was not a cat like Elizabeth the 3rd. She was still her own person.

Jumin would make sure that they would discuss more about what they had expected from each other. About their future, where she would stay after the party since he was still suspicous of the apartment and the neighbourhood.

Plus, Rika's apartment was not even her house. Was it more efficient and safe for her to live with him or stay in the same building? She could choose which penthouse to live and he would provide her as many bodyguards as she needed.

After she left, he laid down on his bed with that thought.

Not even an hour later, just when he was about to text her, he was struck with a new and permanent reality.

"Ju... Jumin, I am sorry... I am so sorry..."

Seven's weird changes after going to see the mysterios hacker with Yoosung was one of the reasons why Jumin felt like Rika's apartment was not safe. So, when Seven suddenly called him; being a crying mess, he could literally feel that his heart stop beating out of fear.

"What's wrong?"

"The apartment... Rika's apartment..."

"Wh... what happened? Just say it!"

"The apartment exploded... The hacker was there and I guess... he did something to the security...."

Since then, Jumin knew that his life would never be the same.

"Hm... Mr. Han."

"Yes?"

As soon as the grey eyes met hers, Jaehee felt like the concerns that she had rehersed to express stuck in her throat. She was standing opposite Jumin's desk which was full of documents, considering the choices between to show that she would be there for him as a fellow member or just be silent so that she would not accidentally open his wounds again.

The wounds which started since two weeks ago, after his beloved woman left the world.

"Is there anything I can help you, Mr. Han? Have you eaten..."

"No, it's okay. I plan to leave now anyway," he said, curving a small smile before tidying up his desk. She turned to look at her watch and it was six o'clock sharp. For some reason, Jumin worked even harder since that day but he would immediately go home after office hour. "You can go home now, Assistant Kang. Good work for today."

There was no denying that Jumin had been more expressive with them. He attempted to smile and be considerate. Jaehee's workload was also decreased dramatically but it caused another concerns for RFA members.

Jumin had become an extreme workaholic to the point of skipping his meals, just for works. Before this, only Jaehee vented about her massive workload while Jumin constantly rubbed over ZEN's face that disliking cats had been a waste of life. The rest of them never thought that Jumin was also a workaholic due to his awkwardly playful nature.

But now, when he never showed up on the messanger, they knew that he focused too much on works because he was desperate.

He was desperate to erase the dark memory of her death from his head.

"Jaehee, I was thinking. Can you, perhaps... I mean all of us in RFA go for a drink..." the assistant still remembered when ZEN called her one day.

"ZEN, I understand what you mean. In fact, I have asked him several times but Mr. Han won't leave his house after he's done with works. Chairman Han also invited him so many times for dinner but it seems like he prefers to have a personal time in his house."

"That personal time is what bugs me the most. I know the trust fund... I mean, that Han Jumin is strong but when miserable people are alone in that big house on top of that, a lot of things will cross their minds."

Deep inside, she knew that ZEN and the rest shouldered the massive guilt for urging the heir to send his girlfriend home.

Just because for the party when he had insisted that he still had a bad feeling about the hacker and the apartment security in the first place. They including V told him off for being so paranoid and possessive when the couple only knew each other for days.

There was no denial that they both had a great chemistry but they were afraid that his controlling demeanor would worsen the relationship.

"Jaehee, you have been his assistant for a long time. Do you have any idea if there is anything we can do to cheer him up. I only know Jumin as someone strong and cat-obsessed so I have no idea what to do when he's being distant."

"I am afraid I can't help you with that, Yoosung. I never thought I would say this but now, I regret that our relationship has been so business-wise. I can understand him when it comes to works but not on personal level."

"Indeed. It's only her who understands him. This is upsetting, Jaehee. When Rika just died, Jumin still could talk to us. He looked so strong that it's ignorant for me to assume that he would forget something sad easily. But now, it's his girlfriend who died..."

"I guess that for now, we should show him that we'll always be there for him, Yoosung."

"Ah, I should go home quickly. I don't want to make her wait for too long."

What?

It had been a long time since Jumin's deep voice had been that excited. Jaehee managed to catch him mumbling as he headed quickly to the door but it was not only the tone that made Jaehee feel something painful and despondent crawl in her veins.

"Who waits for you, Mr. Han?" She turned, making Jumin stop and face her.

"Hm?"

"You said you shouldn't make her wait for too long. Who waits for you at your house, Mr. Han?"

Jaehee knew she should be careful with her words but she could not help it. Not when she was already worried about her boss and not when Jumin's face was pale instantly.

Like he was almost caught with a deep secret.

"No, no one... I am fine..."

She never asked how he felt even she did want to know but the fact that The Great Jumin Han was rambling and anxious was...

I need to say something. He must feel embarassed to be caught like that, she thought.

"By the way, Mr. Han, I know this is not my business but I suggest that you take a couple of weeks off to relax. Don't worry about your works here. We can manage them, as long as you can take care of your health."

It surprised the assistant that Jumin looked so amazed by her suggestion like it was such an out of ordinary idea. He rubbed his chin in a deep thought before he curved in a smile.

"That's a good suggestion. Thank you, Assistant Kang."

"I am glad I can help. Please let me know if you want me to book your flight..."

"That's okay. I don't need to fly anywhere."

He was quick to decide on his destination.

"Mr. Han."

Despite his unchanged efficiency in his works, there were a few different things that his employees had noticed.

First, Jumin was getting slow in reacting. He hardly focused when people talked to him. Jumin was famous for a good memory that even when his face seemed indifferent, his memory was so solid.

But now, Jaehee had to remind him of his schedule for so many times that it did not go unnoticed for others.

As for Mr. Kim, his driver who sometimes waited for Jumin just outside of the penthouse, he always wondered why he never saw neither Chef Kim to send Jumin's breakfast or the heir's maid to clean the house. He did ask but Jumin and the bodyguards said that both of them had changed their working schedule due to what happened to the heir's late girlfriend.

"Hm?" The grey eyes met his driver's. Silence passed when Mr. Kim made sure that his boss really listened to him or was still spaced out.

"Assistant Kang informed me that you wanted will take days off. Where do you want me to bring you?"

"Owh..." His eyes widened, finally catching the situation. "No, that's okay. I think she has misunderstood. I do take days off starting tomorrow but I am not going anywhere. I just want to rest at home."

The driver nodded.

"I see. Please let me know if you need anything, Mr. Han."

"Sure. Good work today, Mr. Kim. Thank you for everything."
