TEN
(A/N: Oh look, another sappy chapter.)
Y/N slowly rose out of her comfortable slumber. She felt a deep sense of relief, like a burden had been taken off of her shoulders. The miserable feeling was gone. Of course, the grief and pain were still there, but suddenly they were bearable. Suddenly, she was okay.
She was okay.
Memories of sitting next to Davey came flooding back to her, and Y/N realized she must have fallen asleep. She touched that blanket that was over her but was surprised to feel a whole different fabric. She sat up to look at it, and she discovered that it was in fact Davey's jacket. A warm feeling came over her, and Y/N in volunteering blushed.
Oh no, she thought.
She totally liked Davey Jacobs.
As much as at that moment she wanted to convince herself that she didn't, as much as she wanted to convince herself why she shouldn't, Y/N gave in and instead just thought about him. This is stupid, she thought. She had more important things in her life, much more important things, than some boy, yet she couldn't help but think about how handsome he was. How smart he was, how bubbly his smile made her feel. And she laid back down, pulling his jacket back over her, and closed her eyes. She fell asleep thinking about the boy she was so madly in love with.
*a few hours earlier*
Davey just sat there silently, keeping his arm around Y/N until she finally started quieting down. She stopped shivering, her hands stopped shaking, and her head was resting against him. He carefully looked at her face and found that she was fast asleep, exhausted. He couldn't help but think about how beautiful and peaceful she looked as she slept. As much as Davey wished he could just sit and watch her forever, he had to do something about the situation.
Ever so carefully, he lifted her up bridal style and carried her over to her bed. He gently put her down, making sure that she was comfortable, and laid his jacket over her sleeping form. After Davey ticked Y/N he backed away when a sudden thought occurred to him. Should he-?
A little nervous, he took a step back towards Y/N and leaned down over her face. Very, very softly, he placed a kiss on her temple and hurriedly stood up, making sure she didn't wake up. Backing out of the room, he silently made his way outside and onto the street.
Ever since he had first met Y/N, Davey noticed how pretty she was, and he liked her fierce personality. But now that he knew her better, there were several things about Y/N other than her beauty that made Davey fall in love with her. Her intelligence, her strength, the love she showed for her family and friends, her courage.
As much as Davey knew he was in love with Y/N, he also knew why he couldn't be with her. He sadly stuffed his hand in his pants pockets as he walked along the dark streets and thought about how he knew they would never be together. She didn't seem to like him. Yes, Y/N trusted him as a friend, but he didn't think that she thought of him as anything beyond that. In addition to loving her, Davey respected Y/N. He would never want to ruin their friendship or make her uncomfortable by telling her how he felt.
The boy entered his house and quietly greeted his mother and father. After eating a little dinner and getting ready for bed, Davey climbed into bed next to Les. He fell asleep thinking about Y/N's face as she slept, filled with tranquil beauty.
(A/N: Idk what that last sentence was wow. I wrote this at 1 am so sorry if it wasn't too great.
I have a small problem to share with you guy: I'm homeschooled, so my school year is a little different. It runs from March to December. And this is my last year of high school, so I am really focused on school right now. Because of that, finding time to write has been getting harder. I'm trying my best to keep up with all of my stories, but I have had to slow down a bit. The story is not over, so don't worry! It just may take me longer to publish new chapters. Sorry about this, I just really need to focus on school. Thank you for reading!!)
