As I open my eyes, they quickly adjust to the brightness of the room. Once I can see, I look around and recognize the research wing. What am I doing in the research wing of the palace? I thought Kai said he had a surprise for me? Then I notice Dr. Nicolao standing next to Kai, both have a hint of both excitement and nervousness in their eyes. Why would they be nervous? Or excited?

          "Hey Dr. Nicolao," I nod to her.

          "Hello Cinder," She nods back.

          I turn to Kai, "I thought you said you have a surprise for me? Why are we in the research wing?"

          "Because the surprise is in the research wing," he steps a little closer.

          "So are you going to tell me the surprise or be mean and make me guess it?"

          "Now that you mention it,"He looks at the Doctor,"Dr Nicolao, do you think she would be able to guess it? Or should I tell her?" Wait, Dr Nicolao knows the surprise?.......... hmmmm.........

          "I think you should tell her but the long way and explain the whole story to torture her a little bit but not to the point of being mean, Your Majesty."

          "That sounds like a perfect plan. Cinder, you know how after we got the letumosis antidote and cured everyone who had the plague, my scientists were no longer needed to find the antidote themselves. I had to think about what they could do instead, and then I came up with the perfect idea. I ,then, ran it past Dr Nicolao and she agreed it was perfect and took it on. Now she has found a way to do it!"

          "A way do what?" I raise an eyebrow.

          "A way to give cyborgs the ability to show emotions," I must have really bad hearing today......

          "Wait, what did you just say?," I was starting to get back that hope that I could truly show and have emotions like normal people. "That's not possible!"

          "I have found a way to make it possible, Your Highness. And with your permission, I would like to do the first procedure on you. I think that His Majesty mainly had us work on the project for you, not other cyborgs." Dr. Nicolao told me. Once she finished, I turned to look at Kai.

          "Well is she right? Did the scientists really only have the instructions to figure out how to do that because of me?"

         Kai nodded, "I don't like my girlfriend to not be able to show any emotions. It's harder to figure out what you are thinking!"

          I mentally laughed and said,"Is that the only reason?"

          "No," Kai shook his handsome head.

          "Oh? Why else?"

          "So that you can finally see a glimpse of how much I love you,"

          Suddenly I couldn't stop myself, I closed the distance between us, lifted my mouth and kissed him with all the jealousy of people being able to show emotions melting away. Kai seemed hesitant at first but soon forgot to be polite of the other people in the room. As soon as our lips met, I sensed Dr.Nicolao and the few other people in the room turn away from us. It's just a courtesy that someone would expect be given to the Emperor and his girlfriend. I can't be completely certain but I am pretty sure that Kai pulled away after 45ish seconds. I really wish we were alone! I put a big smile on my face, Kai did too. He steps back to a respectable distance between us.

           "Sorry about that, Dr Nicolao" Always the polite Emperor...

          Dr Nicolao and the other people in the room turn back around to look at us, "Don't worry about it, Your Majesty, with the news you were giving Princess Cinder and your relationship with her, that was expected by all of us." The guards and other scientists all nodded and she smiled. Kai blushed and I got that annoying headache that reminded me that I can't blush.  Getting that headache made me form a question in my mind.

           "I have a question for Dr Nicolao."

           "Yes, Cinder?"

            "How soon can you do the surgery on me?"

           She laughed and said, "If I hurried the progress for finishing the tools we will need, I'd say tomorrow afternoon at the earliest."

            "That soon?!"

           "Yes, why would I say that and not mean it? I can tell how important this is to you and Emperor Katio."

            "Ohmygosh! Thank you so much, Dr Nicolao!!" I went to her and gave her a really big hug.

            "Hey Cinder, you might want to let her breathe or she won't be able to do the surgery at all!" Kai said laughing.

            I let go of Dr Nicolao really fast, "You can breathe again, right? Sorry, I am just really excited." My voice sounded like it went really high pitch. In the corner of my eye, I could see the all new chemicals that were coming into my body and there was a few that were leaving too. Oops, I probably should calm down to get back to normal. I began to focus on calming my heart rate down and breathing normal.  Soon the chemical information was completely gone.

            "Don't worry about it Cinder, I was completely ready to hold my breathe in case you were going to do something like that. It was all pretty normal for someone to react to news like that by giving one of the people that was involved a really big hug." She did a half smile/half laugh. 

            "So Dr Nicolao," Kai began "is there anything specific that Cinder needs to do before the operation?"

            "This might seem a little cruel, but you can't eat or drink anything within 4 hours of the surgery. I am planning on being ready at about 10 or 11am. What time do you usually get up, Cinder?"

            "About 7:30-8," I replied.

            "Well you won't be able to eat anything from when you get up unless you have someone wake you up at 9 or 9:30. That time frame shouldn't be big enough for you to get hungry or thirsty. Well, not in 'dire' need of food."

            "That's okay with me. I probably will be too excited to even think about eating."

            "It will be fine," Kai and Dr Nicolao said at the same time.

            "Thanks guys," I  half-smiled."Is there anything else? I kinda just want to go up to the kitchens and eat while I still can."

            Dr. Nicolao chuckled, "Nope that's it, you and the Emperor can go if you want. I will see you both down here for the surgery tomorrow."

            "Yes you will, I'll make sure she dosen't eat anything tomorrow morning," Kai said as he put an arm around my waist. It sent a warm feeling all over my body.

            "I think I will be too nervous to even think about eating anything." I said with a nervous smile. "Can I give you another hug, Dr Nicolao? I want to do something other than say thank you again, which doesn't seem like enough for something like this. I promise not to squeeze you too hard this time."

            She walked up to me and hugged me, softly but it was pretty firm. " I beat you to it, Princess. Now you should leave with the Emperor." She gently pushed me toward Kai and he stepped forward to take my hand and pulled me out of the reasearch wing. I followed without any more fuss.

Hey peeps! Sorry I took so long to update again. I am kinda busy with starting to pack because we are moving pretty soon and I wanted it to be a pretty big chapter because the other ones have all been kinda short. Here is some of the Kainder people asked for and the next one will have alot of Kainder too. Feel free to comment.
