Atlas's POV;

After the marriage, the next day I got home at night, I get surprised to find Elaine there. If I'm being honest, I was so busy with work that I forgot about her. She was saying something but I wasn't sure if she was talking to me. Besides I was talking to Mike. We finally managed to get a bit of data from Will, Stephens supervisor, that knows about all the transactions. But the day before he was going to give us the data, Will disappeared. Stephen doesn't know that I'm looking into his background and everything, so I asked some other people for Will's whereabouts along with Mike, and all I could find was that he reigned. How can he just resign and then completely disappear? I'm pretty sure it's Stephens doing.

I was talking to Mike and going up to my room when she blocked my way. What does she want? I asked her and she just wanted the internet password. I was about to give it to her when I get a call from Mike. This was more important, so I just told her to figure it out herself.

The next day, I was busy with work. I had to sign and overlook everything. Stephen was still angry about Richard leaving, which I felt happy about.
That night at dinner, Elaine started talking about how mute I was. Don't get me wrong. It's not like I don't talk. I just don't have anything to talk to her about. And then I got a call from Mike, about Will. We still can't find him. We went to his house, but his family had shifted somewhere else and no one knows where.

A few days went by and there were no signs of him. On the same time at home, I kind of got to know Elaine. She loves eating. And she loves to talk. Whenever we are sitting in the same room, she starts talking about something. She says that she's bored, so she will talk, even if I'm not listening because for her she believes we have to be friends. Friends? Nope. I don't like that. But, I do listen to her. Whatever she's saying, I am listening to her even though I'm texting in my phone, or checking emails. I do listen to her. She's kind of interesting and somehow I like hearing her talk.

And aside from that, she does things that annoy me. But I get back at her by doing things that annoy her. I was at my office, when I heard my phone beep. I checked to see what happened and it said there was fire at my home. Fire? I check the cameras to find Elaine in the kitchen trying to do something with the food she burnt. I chuckled at this. It was kind of funny. I kept watching her for a few more minutes. It was cute. She was cute. And then as she passed by the living room, I don't know what got over me but I decided to have some fun. So I turned on the TV. She got surprised. I did it a few more times until she ran away. Looks like I scared her.

That night she told me the house is haunted. I laughed out loud at this. And as we both reached for the last piece of pizza our hands touched. She quickly pulled hers back and then went to her room. This was not good. I shouldn't be falling for her. Earlier today, she fell on top of me. At that moment, I wanted to touch her. What is it with this girl? I just can't stop thinking about her. And I've only known her for a few days.

The next night, she looked so stunning. Lately she has even started asking me how she looks. Each time I just reply she looks fine. It's not that she doesn't look okay, in fact to me she's the most beautiful girl. But I just don't know how to put it into words. Besides I don't want any weirdness between us. I don't want her to leave me.

During the dinner at mum's house, I had to leave because we found a club where we might find any details of Will. I didn't have anyone to send as only me and Mike were working on this.

When we went there and started asking around, we found someone who gave us a recording of Will's last call to him. He said that Will had been threatened. After this, a group of guys came and threatened us not to poke our noses where they don't belong. I'm pretty sure they were Stephen's men who were told to stop anyone to find out about Will.

"You two should give us that before you get killed." One of them said

"I don't think we are getting killed today. Besides, we only want to know the truth." Mike said

Just then one of them gets a message and after checking it, he looks at us and said, "Our boss wants to meet you."

"But we don't want to meet him." I said as one of them attacked Mike to get the recording but I punched him before he could do that. It's been so long since I last fought. Back in my teens, there was a time when I used to smoke and got into fights a lot.

"Either give us that recording or come with us quietly." One of them said as he was about to punch me. But I moved, grabbed his arm and twist it. And then I kicked him in his gut. I told Mike to run away with the recording, while I try to hold these guys back.

Those guys started firing, as I tried to take cover. Although I knew they wouldn't shoot me as one of them said that their boss wanted me unharmed.
During this, my phone kept ringing. I checked to see who it was, as I ran away from those guys. Elaine? What's wrong with her? I was about to check the message when someone tries to hit me with a knife. Luckily, I dodge just in time and I just get scratched . But my phone falls a few feet apart. One of them picks it up, looks at it and says, "Looks like someone is missing you. Who's this? Your wife? Girlfriend?"

I need my phone back. But I am trapped. At that moment, Mike comes with the car and I, after kicking and punching that guy, get my phone back and then sit in the car. We then went back to the office, where we hear the recording. Stephen has found out that Will was going to spill everything to someone, so he forced his family to shift to Africa, while he has kidnapped Will. He also has deleted all the records from any electronic device and has now kept them in the form of papers for safe keeping. I don't get this. How greedy can someone be? Why does he want more and more money? And for what? Just to buy everything?

"I'm pretty sure they have killed Will by now." I said

"But I'll still keep looking for him. We don't want anyone to know about this or else it'll be a problem." Mike said

"Yeah." I said as I check my messages

"I have to go, mum had a heart attack." I said as I quickly run to my car and then head to the hospital. Why now? After last time, they said it wouldn't happen again. She gets a monthly checkup, and the doctors were saying that she was getting better. I hope she's fine.

As I got to the hospital, I first talked to the doctor. And they said that they will keep her in the ICU for now. I then saw Lyra and Elaine sitting there. I went towards them as Lyra goes somewhere. Elaine at first scolds me for being late and then she noticed the cut on my cheek. Oh shit, I forgot to put something on it. I tell her it's nothing as I don't want to talk about it.

The whole night, I didn't want to sleep as I had a lot to think about. Although, Lyra slept for a while. Which was good. She was really stressed. Elaine also stayed awake. I don't understand her. I even told her she can go back if she wants, but she said no.

The next morning, as Lyra goes to the washroom. I again tell Elaine that she can sleep if she wants to as she hadn't slept all night. But she says she's fine although she yawns right after that. Then I notice people staring at her. And she looked like she was a bit cold. Well honestly, all throughout the night I wanted to ask her if she was cold, but I couldn't. And I didn't want people to stare at her so I gave her my jacket. She wouldn't take it, but still I made her wear it. And then she told me that if I ever need someone, she will be here. That's actually sweet. Why was she being so nice? Those words she said, kind of made me feel happy. Since they wouldn't let us see mum for a few hours, I decided to just close my eyes for a few minutes. No matter how much I tried to hide it, I was really worried about mum. Even though the doctors said she was fine now, I still am really worried. I don't want anything to happen to her.

I then fold my arms and put my head on Elaine's shoulder. She said that if I ever need someone she'll be here, well at this moment I need somewhere to put my head so that I can close my eyes for a few seconds.
She then starts stroking and playing with my hair, which even though I kind of enjoyed it, it was embarrassing so I asked her how long was she planning on doing that, which makes her stop.

When I wake up, I see her thinking to herself and worrying about something as she is holding something. I ask her what's that and she shoves it to me before she goes away. What was that about? I check to see what it was and there are cut tapes for my cut and bruises. This made me smile. Oh damn, if she keeps on doing things like this, it'll be hard to control my growing feelings for her.

After we meet mum in her room, I see Elaine leaving. Why? Does she feel left out? I don't want her to feel that. I catch up to her in the elevator. I ask her if she's going home and she nods, so I decide to drop her off.

When we reached home, I wanted to ask her why was she being so nice, but I didn't because I figured that that's just her nature. She asks about my jacket and I see that she looks adorable wearing my jacket, so I just let her have it. And then I call her by her name and tell her thanks. It was a thanks for being there for us.
