Chapter Three

I awoke under the soft blue covers of my bed. I was sprawled out and already had a sad mind set. I didn't even know what happened last night, I just assumed I fell asleep. Strangely though the bed was clean and from the smell of it, the whole house was cleaned up from the events I remember.

"Hey sleepy head" It was Zelda and she was looking straight at me.

I grunted and shifted to the other side of the bed. "Once again, don't you have a castle to run?" I mumbled through the covers.

"That doesn't matter. I figured I would just come here instead of you going to the castle. Besides, they're still cleaning up most of the damage done by Ganon" she responded with a flick of her hair.

"Do you always have to mention him?" I snapped at her but I took one glance in her eyes and quickly shut my mouth before I could say anymore.

She ignored my nasty coment and continued. "Anyway, why did Teba want you to come to the castle anyway?"

"I'm sorry..." I choked out and was already lost in her eyes.

Suddenly thoughts poured onto me like a waterfall and raced around my mind like wild mustangs.

You don't deserve her...she would never love somone like you...she deserves better...there's somone else for you...
The last one confused me the most, but before I knew it tears rushed out of my sad blue eyes like a broken dam.

"L-Link...hey come on...we will talk about it later. Let's go get some breakfast" Zelda soothed me and stroked her hands in my hair.

I nodded and hoped out of bed. I studied my arm but nothing was there. I knew I stabbed myself, and I know it wasn't a dream. But now I didn't have to tell Zelda so I pretended as if nothing ever happened. But...who cleaned up the mess?

I suggested it was a good idea to shrug it off and wipe my tear struck eyes. As soon as I combed through my hair we walked out of my house and down the trail of Hateno Village.

"Why hello princess" villagers said and did a slight bow as Zelda walked about.

"Well where are we going anyway" I asked shyly, with my eyes focused on the dirt trail.

"Hudson opened up a restaurant in Tarrey Town so I figured we could check it out" The Princess of Hyrule responded.

"That's really far..." I added, and she sighed.

"Wellllllll you know there's this thing called a sheikah slate, uh huh ya? Right I know it's so cool, and well it will let you travel to shrines...yaaa oooh wow I'm so smart" Zelda laughed at me but no smile slid across my face.

"Ok ok, get it over with then" I grunted and grabbed her sheikah slate with one hand, and she held it
with hers too.

With one touch our bodies split into blue light and slithered into the air. It took a while but we finnaly arrived at Dah Hesho Shrine. We were back to normal and headed down the mountain to Tarrey Town that was basically on a raised island with a grassy bridge leading to it.

After a good 15 minutes we traveled along the bridge and crossed into Tarrey Town. We were lucky to beat the storms that were always there at the shrine and not to mention the packs of hungry wolves.

We both knew Kass was here to take a visit because his music instantly filled our ears and flowed with wind.

"It's opened up so much, even after I found Greyson, his brother, Rhondson, Fyson, and Kapson. I guess a lot of people moved in too", I said as we weaved around the small pond in the middle of the town.

"I guess your right, it's a lot busier than I would of thought, I guess it's a nice little town after all" Zelda said and walked through one of the colorful but boxish looking buildings.
I guessed it was the restaurant and followed her with only a little hesitation this time.

It was lit up by candles set on tables and a few windows scattered around the walls. A pale, orange haired women was seated in front of a dark haired man. She was clearly enjoying her ice cream because she wouldn't even look up to the man.

In the corner, a man was being eat up by darkness and had his head down to his chest. A black hood covered his face, but all his skin was covered up by clothing, and gloves, and boots. I thought nothing of it and continued
on.

"Well well well, now what is a princess doing clear down here in a town like this", Hudson laughed, and clasped his hands on the counter he was behind.

"Oh its not like I haven't traveled", Zelda laughed back and looked up at the menu.

"Oh hey Link!", Hudson exclaimed to me.

"Hey", was all I said and looked up at the menu with Zelda. "I don't need anything, I'm not hungry".

"Link! We came here for breakfast!", Zelda glared at me, clearly tired of my attitude.

I rolled my eyes and sat myself. I tapped my fingers and stared at the red cloth that draped over the table. It reminded me of the blood that Zelda shed and I turned away so quickly I fell out of my seat.

Luckily Zelda caught me a split second before I could slam my head on the hard floor, it was awkward but I'm always clumsy. "Link? What in Lanayru is wrong with you?!", She snapped at me.

"I.......sorry", I choked out, I was always emotional around her, and it wasn't in a good way, I always felt terrible.

She sighed and crouched in front of me. She put a concerned look on her face and stared into my icy orbs. Shockingly, she leaned in and gently kissed my forehead. I bet I looked like a tomato getting ready to burst, but a tiny smile curved across my face. I assumed Zelda was going to say something, but the man who hid in the shadows jumped out of his chair and slammed the door open. He stomped off with a growl. Everyone was staring at me and Zelda, but now they were staring at the door the man stomped his way out of.

"What was all that about?", Zelda stood up and turned to Hudson who was still behind the counter, waiting on the food to arive for her.

"He moved here not too long ago. I sold a house to him, but he wouldn't even give me his name. I wasn't going to give it to him, but he insisted. No one's ever seen his face or never dared to go in his house. He's ruthless really, and everyone stays away from him because we always here him yelling and breaking things in his house. Sometimes even bright lights shine through the windows. Well that's that anyway. Uh, what's wrong with Link?", Hudson finished explaining and looked at me.

I was under the table with my arms wrapped around my legs like a child playing hide and go seek. My head was burried in my lap. A sudden sadness filled my heart and I rushed out of the restaurant.

Stay away from her! Or I swear to the Goddesses I will kill her....or worse, make you kill her.

The voice rang in my head like a bell and I sprinted past the buildings. Of course, Tarrey Town isn't very big so it would be easy to get away from.

Well, unless you are clumsy like me. I tripped over a wood plank that acted like a trail to somone's house. Someone barged out and grabbed me by the neck. I soon realized it was the man with the black hood over his face. He then grabbed my throat and lifted me into the air. I tried ripping his fingers off me but his grip was too strong. His hand started to glow and travel into my veins. It felt like all my happiness was being drained away, well what was left of it, but then flooding into him.

"STOP IN THE NAME OF HYRULE!" It was Princess Zelda.

The man dropped me, and I tumbled to my knees. When I looked up at Zelda tears instantly wanted out. What had he done to me? When she had kissed me some happiness broke out untill this guy decided to choke me!

"I assume you don't want to go to prison, so I suggest you go back inside" said Zelda with her princess attitude. Although, I found it cute.

The man angrily went back to his household and I stood up and took deep breaths.

"Link, are you alright?" She said, and walked up to me.

She doesn't love you. She would never want you so quit trying!! The voice ranged again.

"But I want her so badly..." I said aloud, and sunk back to my knees.

"I'm right here Link...come on let's go back home, you've had a long morning" that was all she said, I figured she would talk to me in private.

She grabbed my hand and started to walk out of town. "I'm sorry...we have to go, Link's not feeling well" Zelda said as Hudson rushed out to see what the commotion was.

He nodded and Zelda tossed him a glistening red rupee. She turned then we walked silently, side by side, down the bridge.

"Do you have feelings for me?" I blurted as we made it by the fairy fountain.

Zelda stopped and turned to face me. "Of course I do, Link. Quit doubting me! What ever that man said to you don't listen to him, because I know somethings up with him!" Zelda pointed at me.

I winced slightly then gazed at the glowing fountain. Fairies flew about and Silent Princess's had a faint glow from the shadows of the trees that cast down on them.

I crouched down and examined the flower. I broke it's delicate stem and stepped over to Zelda. Then I gently placed it in her hands.

"At least when I leave you...I know you'll be safe."
