30. "Feel a kick"
Friday
Jungkook comes home extremely late from work and enters his house. He makes his way over to the living room spotting his beautiful wife on the couch, laughing her lungs out at the dumb comedy show. He grins and enters in the living room laying down next to her with a quick kiss on her forehead and to the little babies still in the tummy.
"Work was so hectic," he groans and sighs aloud.
Fiela brushes her hands over his hair listening to him. She's about to answer remembering something quickly.
"Mum I found these," Aufilea's voice booms out in the entire living room, causing Fiela to tense up. "Can I keep..." Aufilea stops talking as soon as she sees her dad. Her mood goes down and just like that she walks in quietly shoving her leggings and stuffy socks inside her bag. Once again, she completely avoids Jungkook.
Jungkook tries minding his own business, fully aware of the tension that raised in the room. Fiela looks between Jungkook and Aufilea feeling entirely useless. On one hand she wanted to yell at Aufilea to just forgive him and try to get along, on the other hand she wanted Jungkook to speak up.
Aufilea stands up and puts on her jersey looking to her mum. "Okay mum, I'll be going now. Have a goodnight,"
"No sweety," Fiela stands and shakes her head. "You can't go out when it's raining like that,"
"Mum it's okay I'll call an Uber," Aufilea says like it's no big deal.
Jungkook finally speaks. "I can drop y–"
"I don't need your help." Aufilea says sharply earning a strong glare from her mum.
Jungkook just nods his head and gets up heading to his room without saying anything. He had a long day at work and he didn't want to deal with any of this drama.
"You like seeing him like that?" Fiela asks once Jungkook is out of the living room. Aufilea's shoulders slouch down and she looks away from her mum. She didn't like seeing her dad like that. It hurt her not being able to speak to him, but she just wanted time to herself.
"I'm taking you home. Don't you even dare argue with me." Fiela says sternly walking out the room leaving Aufilea alone.
She sighs and sits back down waiting for her mum.
•
"Aufilea why are you being like this to your father?" Fiela asks after a long quiet ride to Aufilea's house. "I don't like how stubborn you're being with him. It's breaking my heart, to see the two people I love have feud like this."
Aufilea groans rolling her eyes looking out the window. "Mum please don't start this again. In a place of asking where's my new house or even caring where I live you're–"
"Look I get it. You make your own money now and you're independent. You can take care of yourself. I see. But that doesn't give you the right to come in my house anytime and behave like shit to your father." Fiela speaks out her irritation. "If you can't behave then stop coming home. Stay at you're place."
Aufilea watches her mum with a deep frown on her face. She can't believe what her mum just said. She basically uninvited her to the house. Having nothing else to say to her mum and the situation she looks out her window and gives her mum the address.
As soon as her mum drops her at her own place, Aufilea is emotional and remorseful. It's not like she wanted to hate her dad.. she couldn't do that. She loved him, but at the moment, she just wanted to clear her head and make it light. But now, why couldn't her mum understand that.
She lays down on her bed switching on the bedside lamp. She opens her laptop going to her Gmail, spotting the attached mail her mother sent her. Maybe after watching everything she could finally get answers and peace of one issue.
She needed to think about her own family. She didn't like being so lonely.
•
When Fiela gets home she locks the door and closes all the lights of the house before heading upstairs to her room. She quickly takes her mittens and gloves along with her hot water bottle. She heads over to Jungkook's study knowing he'd be there.
As expected he's behind the desk with his hands over his head as his head is hanged low. She sighs sadly walking in the study next to him. He looks up and sees it's her. He clears his throat moving back from his chair so that she could sit on his lap. She smiles and sits down.
"Are you thinking about her?" She asks knowingly with a sad smile. It takes a while for him to respond but he nods his head.
"I was.. I was thinking about buying her a car. Her own car you know," he says and immediately Fiela shakes her head.
"Babe," she sighs and turns his head so that he's facing her. "Don't do that. Don't allow her to affect your thoughts."
He groans and shifts his head far back while rubbing his face. "How can I not, when she said she hated me?" He asks quietly.
Fiela hugs him and whispers in his ear. "She doesn't hate you,"
Jungkook says nothing but closes his eyes and hugs her back. Moments later he tells her that they should go and sleep.
"Are you sure? I could stay up with you just so you don't think those bad thoughts,"
He smiles but nods his head anyway. "Okay let's go,"
Fiela tries to think of something to remove his thoughts away from Aufilea. Even though as a mother, she knew her daughter was hurting but at the same time as a wife, she knew her husband was hurting. It wasn't a fitting position to be in as a middle man. So that's why as a call, she had to stop Aufilea from coming over all the time. Or wasn't a really good idea, in fact it was drawn out of anger. But at least this time apart, for maybe all of them, could be a time to heal. To heal and at least move on from the pain that she knew everyone was feeling.
She gets off his lap waiting for him as he stretches and yawns. "By the way, what did you mean when you said work was hectic? Did something bad happen?"
He stands up and tiredly back hugs her, taking his time as they go to their room. "Remember the case I working on about the woman who killed her child and herself?"
"Yes, mhm,"
"Well it was all a lie." He answers already shifting his brain back to the incident at work.
"What do you mean?" Fiela closes the light of the study room as they still travel slowly to their room.
"Her husband was the one who did it. He killed her and killed his own son and he got his brother his lie to us and cover up for him. When we found out his brother was lying to us, he quickly killed him and then killed himself." Jungkook answers filling remorseful for the whole case. "There's nothing we could do, so we just had to close the case. Justice was served but none of the family members are even alive to know about it,"
"I'm sorry," Fiela says softly. She knew how hard Jungkook worked on that case. "Did all that happen today?"
"Mhm," he answers as they get in bed closing the light. "A wild goose chase for us. We went from point to point only to watch him shoot his brother and then kill himself,"
"But why though? Why would he kill himself?" Fiela asks shaking her head.
"There are some people out there that just have twisted mindsets," he says bringing her closer in his arms.
"Kind of like Namjoon when I think about it," Fiela mumbles. "The sick man was buried in the same cemetery as my sister and her son,"
Jungkook shakes his head thinking about how hard him, Fiela and her parents fought to change Namjoon's burial. But nothing was done. Taehyung hardly showed up to the cemetery sincerely because he never liked the idea of trying to be with his dead wife, Andrea but still with his brother's tomb somewhere around.
"Namjoon didn't have a twisted mind," Jungkook speaks but as soon as he feels Fiela glaring at him he rushes to finish his sentence. "That man was just really lost in love. He fell too deep but on the darkest side of love. I'm not justifying his cruel murder towards your sister, her son and Hoseok, I'm just saying that if you try to look from his view..you can kind of understand his misunderstood love for his brother. It's still sickening, but that's what he called love,"
Fiela says nothing, not because she was upset but because she tried to consider her husband's words. The thoughts don't really click in her brain as she constantly thinks of Andrea and the way she struggled. "How do you even begin to try and think like a psychopath?"
"Don't try it," Jungkook says and kisses her forehead feeling already tired. "Let's go and sleep babe,"
It's impossible for Fiela to even think of sleep after a cautious talk about Namjoon and killing people. She thinks of something light to ease her mind from the incriminating thoughts.
"I can't wait to feel a kick on my stomach," Fiela silently whispers making Jungkook instantly shift back a little to lay his hand on her stomach.
"I can't wait for that as well,"
