When I finish my conversation with Jed I decide to take a quick shower because it's been almost a week since I last showered when I was in Texas to deliver the last package that Jed asked me to.

As soon as I finish I get out of the shower to get dressed when I hear my phone ringing again.

"Fuck! Who's calling me now?" I say as I take my phone that is on the nightstand charging.

When I look at the phone screen I see Harper's name.
Where did she get my new phone number, and why is she calling me now after two weeks? Maybe I shouldn't answer but what if it has to do something with Mia?

"Hey." I say to Harper as soon as I decide to open the phone.

"Bryan!? Is that you?" She asks with a shaky voice.

"Yeahh..." I answer simply.

"Omg, I can't believe it...!" She says in a low voice then asks.
"Where are you? Why did you left like that without telling anyone, not even me. You are like my brother. I was so worried about you.
I thought... I thought you were dead or something." She says in a sobbing voice.

"Don't be so dramatic. I'm in New York and I'm fine. There's nothing to worry about." I reply in a cold way.

"But why did you leave?" She asks again.

"I left because I wanted to stay away from everything and everyone.  Is that a good reason for you." I shout.

"Don't yell at me you asshole. Okay!
I know you Bryan White so don't even try to lie to me. Now tell me in what dirty things you're involved in?" She says shouting catching me completely off guard.
She knows me well but how can I tell her? I can't put her in danger to.

"Nothing. There's nothing wrong. I just wanted to stay alone for a while." I reply.

"You wanted to stay alone? Without Mia?
Oh please. Bryan White that I know wouldn't stay away from Mia even a day." She says.

"Well that's absurd. I didn't love her. I was just messing around."

"Is this what you have been saying to yourself these days?" She asks.
"Bryan you know that I love you but sometimes you are a complete jerk. I mean... how can you even say that when I've seen how much you two love each other.
I've seen how your eyes shine as soon as you see her Bryan."

"I... ." I begin to say.

"Look Bryan I have something important to say to you but if you don't tell me the truth why you left I'm just going to hang up the phone."

"What? What are you going to tell me? Is everything ok? Is Mia okay!?" I ask her.

"No, you tell me first." She says.

"Answer to me Harper! Is Mia okay!?" I shout.

"Okay, okay! I don't know. I haven't spoken to her since that night that I learned that you two broke up and then you left for New York without telling anyone.
I've tried to call her but she doesn't answer.
I don't know if she's at home.
That's the reason why I called you in the first place. To know if you have spoken with her." Harper explains.

"Fuck! What do you mean she doesn't answer and that you don't know if she's at home! Aren't you too best friends?"

"Well we are but when I heard that you two broke up I thought that she wouldn't want to talk to me since you're my cousin."

"Dammit! Why didn't you tell me before?" I shout.

"I didn't have your number, remember?" She says.

"Have you spoken with anyone from her family?" I ask her concerned.

"No. I don't even know where she lives." She answers in a low voice.
"Bryan, do you think that she's okay?" Harper asks with a sobbing voice making my heart skip a beat. If something has happened to her I  would never forgive myself because I can't... I can't live without her. She's my everything.

"Bryan, are you still there?" Harper asks distracting me from my thoughts.

"Yeah I'm still here, but as for that: I don't know... but I believe that she is." I answer.

"Omg, what are we going to do?" Harper says while she begins to cry.

"Heyy... it's okay, don't worry. I'm coming to Washington tonight and we're going to figure this out together. Okay?" I say trying to calm her down.

"Okay, I'm going to wait for you and then we'll both look for her together." Harper says.

"No, don't wait for me. You go to sleep because it's already 1 am and I'll be in Washington by 6 am in the morning.  So we'll look for her in the morning."

"All right then.
Bye."

"Bye." I reply and as soon as I hang up the phone I try calling Mia but she doesn't answer then I fall to the ground crying heavily.

"Miaaaa! Where are you baby!?
Why are you doing this to me? Why don't you answer this damn phone?
Now I've to come there and Jed will know about the two of us and you'll be in danger because of me. I only left because I didn't want him to know about you but now... now he will and if I don't do what he says he will hurt you too."
"Fuckkkk!!" I shout while I get up quickly to gat a few things that I need for the trip.

A few hours later...

"Liammm! Liam! Are you there? Open the door." I call  while I knock on the door for him to open it because that day that I left for New York I forgot my keys here.

"Bryan!?" Liam says surprised with a sleepy voice as he opens the door.
"What are you doing here man?
You didn't tell me that you were coming."

"I came here because Mia is missing since that day that I left, and no one told me about this before.

"What? Mia is missing?" He says.

"Yeah! And I told you to take care of her and what did you do!? You don't even knew that she was missing. Is this how you my best friend take care about things that I love the most? Huhh Liam?"

"Look Bryan! I'm sorry, okay.
I thought she was just staying away from us just to forget about you. I never thought that something has happened to her man." He says as he follows me to my room.

"What are you looking for?" He asks as I'm throwing everything in the ground to find it.

"No! What are you going to do with it Bryan?
Put the gun away!" Liam says concerned as he comes toward me slowly to take the gun away from my head.

"If something has happened to her I'm going to kill everyone that is involved including myself." I say to Liam with a sobbing voice.

"Heyy! Look at me Bryan! I promise you that Mia is okay and we're going to find her if you just put that away.

"You're right.
Mia is okay and waiting for me."

"Yeah that's right. She's waiting for you and then she'll forgive you when you tell her the truth and she'll accept to be your girlfriend again." Liam says making me put the gun down.

"Do you really think that she will..." I begin to say but someone interrupts me by knocking on the door so, I hide the gun behind my back under my shirt then we hurry up to open the door and as soon as I open it I'm surprised to see Mia's big brother there.
Damian I think his name was.

"Hey." He says.

"Hey." I reply simply.

"I guess you're the famous Bryan White my lil sisters first love." He says.

"Yeah. But how do you know me." I ask him surprised because Mia never told me that her family knew about us.

"Well... first I didn't but after I saw my sister happy after all this time I wanted to know who was this mysterious person and after I insisted to many times she told me. But I didn't even have time to be happy for her because we just found out that «James» my big sister's ex fiancé has kidnapped her.

"What!? James has kidnapped Mia?" I ask him shocked.

"Yeah, because he is some kind of obsessed with her."

"I'm going to kill that mother fucker" I say through my teeth.

"Well, we have thought about this solution multiple times but that wouldn't be a good idea because he's the youngest brother of some Jed Anderson that is one of the greatest drug dealers in New York." He explains.

"What? Is this some kind of joke, because I'm not in the mood?" I ask him.

"Do I look like I'm kidding?" He asks with a serious tone.

"And one more thing that it's confusing me a lot these days. How it's possible that you as my sisters boyfriend didn't know that she was kidnapped two weeks before?"

"I... I was in New York." I say.

"So you're telling me that you're in New York having fun while my sisters was kidnapped huhh?"

"I wasn't having fun! We... we broke up and I had to leave." I shout.

"You left as soon as you two broke up?" He asks again surprised.

"Yeah." I reply in a low voice.

"Well... I don't know what to say about this but if you two broke up I'm going to ask you nicely from now on to stay away from her because I just realized that you didn't deserve her and you never will." He says but before I say anything else his phone starts ringing.

"Yeah?
Really? Okay then I'll be there in an hour.
You keep an eye on them and don't let them leave until I arrive there and can you tell Mr.Williams about this too because I'm not with him right now.
Okay." He says then hangs up the phone and begins to walk away.

"Heyy, where are you going? Who was on the phone? Did you find out where Mia is?
Answer to me Damian!" I shout.

"Why do you care?"

"Because... because I love her!
I love her more than everything in this world even more than myself."

"Huhh... I don't understand this relationship between you two but anyway we found out where he's keeping her." Damian explains.
So if you're coming then fine, but only this time then you'll leave.

"Ok... okay." I reply in a low voice.

When we arrive at the place where James is keeping her, Damian's mans and another man who I believe is Mia's other big brother because he's a lot like Mr.Williams are there in the woods hidden waiting for us because the house where he's keeping Mia is in the middle of the woods.

"Damian where were you?" Mr.Williams asks.

"Sorry dad I had some stuff to do." He explains but before Mr.Williams speaks again one of the mens distracts him.

"Mr.Williams someone is coming out." He says and we all look towards the house but I'm surprised to see that the person that is coming out is Jed. He talks something with  four of his guards then he clims his car and leaves but his guards stay here watching the house.

That mother fucker knew about me and Mia and he acted like he didn't but what else was I expecting. He's James brother and of course he'll know.

"Bryan we are going to be separated in two groups and we'll go in different ways so we'll have more chances to save Mia.
You take two of my guards and my father and go this way and we will go this way. Okay?"
Damian explains.

"Why should he go with father? I'll go." Damian's brother says.

"No Domenic! We are going to stay together and they will stay together. End of discussion."

"Okay then." I reply simply and Domenic just throws me a death glare.

When we finally find a way to get inside the house we find Mia laying in a bed in a small room, unconscious.
For a moment everything stops moving and the air feels like is running out until I take her hand in mine to check if she has a pulse and if she's breathing.

"Thank God you're alive! I'm never going to leave you.
I thought I'd never see you again baby." I say kissing her hands.

"Who are you?" Mia's dad asks.

"I'm her..." I begin to say but one of the guards interrupts me.

"Mr.Williams we have to leave! They know we're here."

"Okay." Mr.Williams says and comes to take Mia in his arms but I stop him.

"I'll take her." I say in a begging way and he agrees.

We hurry up to get outside but they detect us and begin chasing us.

"If we don't make it today I want you to know that I'll always love you baby." I say in a low voice in Mia's ear then I kiss her on her forehead.

For a moment while me and Mia's  dad are running Jed's guards begin to fire and one of the bullets catches Mia's dad on his chest making him to fall to the ground bleeding heavily and I stop immediately to check him.

"Mr.Williams are you okay?" I ask him with one breath as I look around for Jed's guards.

"Bryan right?" He asks.

"Yeah..."

"I don't know much about you Bryan but today I realized that you love my daughter and that you'll do everything for her and for this I'm glad that even if I die today, I'll die knowing that my daughter is in safe hands and that you're going to help her to get out of the shell she has created around her." He says.

"I'm glad that you think like this Mr.Williams because this is the first time someone says something like this to me." I reply smiling but before I say anything else someone hits me with something behind my head and the only words that I hear before I fall to the ground are Mia's dad saying: «Take care about my daughter.»

...

When I begin to wake up my head hurts.

"Bryan! Bryan what have you done!??" I hear Mia's voice screaming and crying at the same time terrified.

I open my eyes immediately but before I say anything I see Mia's dad on the ground covered in blood, dead. My hands are covered by his blood and my gun that I accidentally brought with me is on my hands.

"Mia! Mia I swear that it's not what it looks like." She doesn't say anything just begins to cry.

"Baby you have to believe me." I say with a sobbing voice.

"Mia! Mia where are you?" I hear Damian and Domenic calling, but they aren't alone. The police is also with them.

"Shit!" I have to leave. I can't stay here because they won't believe me that I didn't kill Mia's dad.
Even she doesn't believe me and this hurts me the most. How can she even  think that I'd do anything like that especially to her father.
No, I can't stay here. I'm going to solve this problem later because right now I've to go and save my sister.

"I promise you Mia that I'll be back soon." I say while I run towards the woods fast.
