"Have you seen Keefe lately?" I asked Fitz.

"No why? Haven't you?" He asked his eyebrows furrowing in confusion.

"No! I've tried hailing him, but he hasn't answered! I'm seriously worried," I said, frowning.

"Sophie! Frowning creates wrinkles!" Biana shouted, running down the stairs.

"Let me try hailing him," Fitz said, his teal eyes now looking worried.

"What's going on?" Biana asked, suddenly noticing the elephant in the room.

"Keefe," Fitz mumbled.

"He didn't--" she trailed off.

"NO!" I shouted.

"Oh, okay," Biana nodded with a small smile.

"He's been ignoring me," I whispered.

"He probably isn't trying to," Biana reassured.

"Yeah but still," I trailed off staring into space.

"Wait!" Fitz said, and both Biana and I hurried to his side excitedly.

"Nevermind, didn't answer. There was a glitch," he shrugged sadly.

I let out a groan.

"Don't worry, he'll come around," Fitz said.

"Easy for you to say," she muttered.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Fitz asked.

"Nothing," she said.

He rolled his eyes and exited the room.

"That's it!" I said.

"What? Where are you going?" Biana asked with a mischievous smile.

"To Candelshade," I said, exiting Everglen.

"Keefe! I know you're in there!" I shouted, as I rang the doorbell repeatedly.

The door opened up to reveal Mr. Sencen.

"Sophie. Foster. We meet again," he said with a snobby undertone.

"I'm here to see Keefe," I said, trying to calm my blush.

"Well if he wanted to see you I wouldn't have been the one to open the door," he retorted, annoyed.

My mouth hung open.

"You're not a Venus Flytrap, so stop trying to catch flies!" He scolded.

I closed my mouth.

"May I please see him?" I asked nicely.

"No," he said slamming the door in my face.

I scoffed, "Rude."

I looked up at the building, well if he won't see me, I'll have to see him.

"Are you sure this is a good idea?" Dex asked as he used his technopath skills to unlock the gates to the cliffs at Havenfield.

"Yes. I'm positive it'll work. I'm worried about him, and I want to see him," I said determinedly.

"But what if he doesn't want to see you?" Dex asked nervously.

"Of course he wants to see me! I'm his girlfriend, and we didn't get in a fight or anything," I assured him.

He looked hesitant before opening the gate.

"Good luck," he shrugged.

"Thanks Dex!" I called.

"No problem, just don't bother me for the rest of the day. I'm hanging with B," he responded.

"Okay!" I shouted as I started running to the cliffs edge. I jumped, with a tiny squeal, and imagined Keefe's bedroom.

Opening my eyes I appeared in the bedroom I'd been in a number of times.

"Keefe?" I whisper hissed.

I heard a loud thump and ran up the stairs in his room.

"Keefe?" I whispered again.

"Sophie? What are you doing here?" He whispered through the door. 

"I'm here to see you," I responded shrugging, though he couldn't see.

"I don't remember scheduling this," he muttered.

"I'm being spontaneous, you okay?" I asked, placing a hand on the door.

"God---(Mumbling) Uh yeah, I guess," he muttered.

"Have you been avoiding me?" I asked nervously. 

"Umm, no?" He said.

"Why?" I asked.

"Cause, I'm just uh. Who let you in?" He asked, trying to change the subject.

"I did, kind of. I teleported into your room cause your dad wouldn't let me inside," I said.

"Wow, breaking rules I see," he laughed.

"No--well--that's besides the point! Why don't you want me to see you?" I asked.

"hsofheorgn,"

"Can you open the door? It's so silly and I can't hear you," I said, trying the knob.

"NO! No, um, I'm naked?" He said, but it came out as a question.

"Nice try, open the door Keefe," I said meaning business.

"No," he said.

"Open the door!" I said, jiggling the knob.

"Sophie--"

"What are you hiding?" I asked.

"Nothing--"

"Then open up the door," I reasoned.

"I'm not feeling well, really--"

"Keefe! Just open the door!" I scolded.

The door swung open and Keefe was standing there. 

"See that wasn't--" I trailed off as I looked into his face. He had a long scraggly scar from the side of his left eyebrow to his chin.

He went to shut the bathroom door, but I stuck my foot in the way.

"Hey, I want to see you," I whispered gently.

"No you don't," he whispered, not looking me in the eye.

"Yeah I do, if I didn't I'd be out the window," I teased, with a small smile on my face.

"I'm ugly," he whispered, not looking at me.

"No you're not! You're one of the most attractive guys I know," I said softly.

He snorted.

"Really," I said.

He shook his head, stepping away from the door.

"You're just saying that," he said walking past me.

"No I'm not," I said defensively.

"Some kid saw me today and started crying, nice try Sophie," he whispered, his hands on his hips. He was facing the window opposite of me.

I walked over to him, placing a hand on his shoulder, but didn't when he flinched.

"Keefe--"

"Please, Sophie. Not right now, okay. There's a reason why I didn't want to see you, I don't need more of your pity," he said.

I scoffed, "I don't pity you, so don't flatter yourself too much! I'm here because I love you and care about you!"

He rolled his eyes and sighed heavily, he started to turn away and I grabbed his hands.

"Look at me," I said, using my one hand to hold his face so he was looking at me.

His eyes looked sad, but he still searched mine.

"You'll always be wonderful, beautiful, and handsome to me. Nothing could change that," I whispered.

He didn't say anything, but his cold gaze softened. I pulled him in for a hug, and we stood like that; his head in the crook of my neck.

"If it helps your ego, the scar makes you look mysterious," I whispered.

I could feel him smile against my skin.

"As mysterious as the mysterious Miss. F?" He teased. 

"No, not yet," I laughed.

"You know, it was silly and stupid of you to think that that," I said pointing to his scar, "would change how I feel about you."

"I know, but it's just ugly. It makes me look some scary person, and like I said. It makes people feel scared, and that hurts more than anything," he whispered.

"Well it doesn't scare me, and it won't scare anyone that knows you. You're one of the kindest, most thoughtful people I know," I added.

"How'd I become so lucky?" He mumbled.

"You skipped class, that's how," I joked with a smile.

He laughed loudly.

"One thing breaking the rules has taught me," he smiled.

I rolled my eyes. 

"Hey guess what?" He asked.

"What?"

"The school year's almost over," he said.

"And?" I said.

"I'll be able to see you at the Silver Tower and at lunch," he said smiling down at me.

"Oh right! I almost forgot. Wait? Both Towers have lunch together?" I asked.

"Well, I'm not Keefe Sencen if I don't break the rules every once in a while," he said with a smirk.

I smiled one of those I-can't-believe-you-but-I-can't-help-but-find-this-amusing-even-though-I-shouldn't.

"I love you Sophie," he said. "And I'm sorry for being a jerk."

"You should be. I missed you," I said giving him a hug.

"Hey," he said out of the blue.

"Yeah?" I asked.

"I think I want to be an artist on the side of rehabilitating animals," he whispered.

I smiled.

"If you were a human you'd definitely have an art gallery in New York City," I said.

"What?" He asked confused.

"Just a place to showcase your art in a big city, that's all," I explained.

"Oh, well, we could use some art decorations in the Lost Cities. Maybe I can make a deal where Dex's dad could have a spot at his store to sell the stuff, or maybe I could get people to work for me while I'm with the animals," he rambled.

"Don't grow up too fast," I teased.

He laughed, "I won't without you." 

A/N: DID TAPQUEEN101 just update two books today? Yes, yes I did. I updated this, obviously, and my quotes book. The quotes are from Lodestar.

ANYWAY, I'll be on vacation for another week Saturday, so it most likely will be the same as last time. I'll probably only be updating Stains for that week, I'm going to the beach!!! WOOHOOO!!!! Nothing like beach hair and sun kissed skin!!! Lol!!! ;)
