Roslyn
I cover my chest with my arms in a terrible attempt to keep myself warm against the uncomfortable chill of the night.
James' parents search the woods ahead of us with Jackie. They don't think she could have gotten very far.
"It's Jackie's fault she ran off. She confronted Julie about being different and then Julie ran off!" James explains.
"The bitch is acting suspicious! What was I supposed to do, ignore it?" Jackie turns around, shrugging her shoulders. "I can't help that I'm good at detecting bull shit."
"You should have just been happy that she is alive!"
"We buried her James! Don't get me wrong, I'm stoked to have my sister back but it's not the same as it was before. Something is wrong! My twin senses tell me that she's not my twin. You wouldn't get it. You didn't share a womb with her."
"Knock it off, both of you!" James' mother scolds her children.
James and I lag behind the rest of the group. In the distance, a scream is heard by all of us. I grab James' arm to stop him from pursuing it like the rest of his family.
He looks over at me, noticing my change in pace. "I have to tell you something."
"Sure. Anything."
"And you have to promise to take it as it is. You can't be defensive about it."
"O...Kay?" He wonders what I am going to say.
"Just before you came in to wake me, I was having a nightmare. It was about Julie." James nods. I can already tell he would rather be following the source of the scream rather than be listening to me. "In it, Julie killed me. Or at least she came close."
"I'm pretty sure that actually happened Ros."
"That's not the scary part." I take a deep breath before I continue. "Something stopped her and she moved on. And I don't know how, but I knew she was looking for another victim."
"You don't think-" James shakes his head, not wanting to believe his sister has become a murderer.
"There's only one way to find out I guess." James grabs a hold of me and races towards the location of the scream. Inside the home, we find Julie pinned to the floor by her father while her victim lays beside her, dead.
"We found her feeding on him. It was too late when we got here." Jackie explains, covering her mouth and nose to fight the urge to feed on him herself. "I need to leave." And excuses herself.
"It's like your nightmare came true." James whispers to me. I nod slowly, watching his father constrain her daughter to the floor to keep her from killing. "We need to lock her up in the basement." James reluctantly suggests. "Until we can figure out how to stop her from killing people. She attacked Roslyn earlier. She almost had the same fate."
"She's a danger to all of us if we can't stop her." Jame's mother adds.
Authors note: what do you think is wrong with Julie?
