Amber's Pov.

My eyes are still closed, my head's resting on his chest. Only a few seconds that have passed, but it feels like an eternity. It's like there's nothing else.

After letting go if him, I look deep into his eyes.
"Does that mean you can forgive me?", he asks quietly, and I nod.
"I promise I'll never do that again", he smiles at me.
"I forgive you, but I can't trust you so quickly, I'm sorry", I say, looking down.
"I understand that, I would do the same", he says.
I smile again shortly. A strange feeling rises inside me, as if I had found something lost again.

Grayson's Pov.

"Does that mean you can forgive me?", I look at her hopefully, she seems to think and then nods.
"I promise I'll never do that again", I say smiling.
"I forgive you, but I can't trust you so quickly, I'm sorry", she says looking to the floor.
"I understand that, I would do the same", I say.
She smiles briefly. I haven't seen her smiling for a long time, I missed it somehow.

Amber's Pov.

A short time later, I'm sitting on the couch again with Carissa and Grayson. We talk and laugh together, as we used to in the past. How much I missed it.

Two days later.
We ran out of food. Now we urgently need to get something.
As I open the front door, a wave of snow hits and buries me.
I hear the others laugh. Slightly annoyed, I dig myself out of it and take a look at the scenery. Everything's covered under a large layer of snow. The landscape looks so beautiful.

Quickly I clear the snow with Carissa. We could have done that earlier, but it was better to leave it that way, as the snow was able to keep the heat inside the house.
Luckily it worked. But unfortunately we still have no electricity. On the way back I'll ask in the city, Kate will accompany me.

Everything's done quickly. Tomorrow someone will come over and take care of the power connection.
We've got enough food. Slowly we drive up the slippery road to the house.

We talk until I suddenly freeze again. Kate steps on the brakes so there's no accident.
"What's going on?", she asks, but I don't answer and step on the gas.

Arrived in the house, I run quickly past the others, to the phone.
Luckily, I hear Alice seconds later.
"Did you see that too?", I ask and already know the answer.
"Come home as fast as you can", I hear Edward say in the background.

"Pack up your things!", I say after hanging up.
"What's going on?", Bella asks.
"If we do not return, there will be a fight between the Volturi and the pack.
They are threatening each other with war.
It's because of the child, Aro knows that the pack is also interested in it and believes they have any claims on the baby", I run upstairs.
"Hurry up!", Renesmee says, who just woke up before, but still, just so, heard everything.
"Are you coming with us?", Bella asks, addressing to Tanya, Kate, Garrett, Carmen and Eleazar.
"Of course, we are family", Carmen says. I have never experienced such cohesion, not even in France.
Together we make our way back to Forks.

I'm not sure if we can stop the fight. We can only try it.
