Interview: Hello, so can you introduce yourself to us?
BlackPearl_4044: My name is Fatima Saad Gidado. I was born on the 13th of February and I'm from Kano state.
Interviewer: You have nice names. When did you write your first book and how old were you?
BlackPearl_4044: I wrote my first book with the title, 'MY LIFE' when I was 17 years old and I wrote my second book or rather, I'm currently writing it and I'm 18 now. It's entitled, 'A PEACEFUL CHAOS', I would love it if you guys would check it out.
Interviewer: When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?
BlackPearl_4044: Well I was actually not the writing type but I love, love reading. I read since when I was young and I grew up to love it. So when I started reading on Wattpad, I liked Wattpad books and found them very interesting but I don't like books that are too cliche. I prefer books that even though they aren't real they sound so real and the message is passed to the reader. I unfortunately do come across books that are very cliche and I was like, "can't I write something better than this?" and I woke up one morning and boom! I find myself writing.
Interviewer: Where do you get information, ideas or inspirations for your books?
BlackPearl_4044: Mostly from music or movies. I am full of imaginations so sometimes I would maybe see a ball on the floor and an idea pops up immediately. Sometimes while reading or when I'm conversing with someone I kind of get my ideas from everywhere.
Interviewer: That's nice dear. What was the most surprising thing you learned while creating your book?
BlackPearl_4044: The most surprising thing I learned while creating my book is myself. I'm surprised of myself because never in my life did I ever thought of writing something people would read and find interesting. Even though it's not something worthy of publishing as hard cover books, I'm sure with editing, it would go somewhere. While it's still here, I'm proud of myself and my work.
Interviewer: What are your hobbies?
BlackPearl_4044: My hobbies are reading, writing, creating decors, chatting with loved ones and playing pranks on people..Ok this sounds childish but that's how I am.
Interviewer: Hahaha...how interesting!
BlackPearl_4044: Thank you.
Interviewer: Which book of yours is your favourite?
BlackPearl_4044: A PEACEFUL CHAOS. Though, it's the sequel to MY LIFE, it turns out to be my favorite.
Interviewer: Do you have any suggestions to help us be better writers? If so, what are they?
BlackPearl_4044: First of all the first mistake I made while creating my first book is I rushed it. Immediately an idea pops in, I sit and write it down. Authors differ in aspect of writing. Some prefer it to write when they have the idea and others prefer to complete it first as a rough sketch before publishing it here on Wattpad or any other book sites, but to make your work as perfect as you would want it:
1. Write a rough sketch of the work because you might want to change some part of the book in the future or maybe you experience writer's block as we all know how annoying it is but when it's a rough one, you do whatever you like with it. You have the time, no one would bother you requesting for an update to make you rush your work, you have all the time of the world to create a worth reading piece of work.
2. Go through your work before publishing. What ever device you use in typing down your work they are possibilities of finding mistakes, so when you write or type go through, read and read thoroughly before you publish.
3. Some readers prefer cliche books, some fantasize in love, romance or high school books. If you're a writer, you can write on everything be it rape, love, school or any genre, whatever your writing on make sure you pass that message. Let's say it's about racism if it is, your story should include what brings about racism, what are the disadvantages of racism, what the victims go through when racist are after their lives and so on and so forth. Just make sure you lay emphasis on what you're writing about.
4. Take corrections when you are corrected. It's just advisable to take them cause they help alot. You might not realize what mistake the reader saw in your book, so take corrections.
5. When you have the passion for writing, nothing should scare you. Go for it. After all, the authors that are popular started from scrap too. None of them woke up and just published a book like that. Such stories are behind their success. If you want to write, do it. As the saying goes; "Practice makes perfect." Maybe when you think you can write a whole story but then, it doesn't work out, you try writing articles and it fails, don't give up on writing. By practicing different types of writings, you might get to know that you're specialized in writing poems. So don't mind what people would say about what you do because if you do, you would forever be tarnished. You have passion for something, JUST DO IT. Period.
Interviewer: Woah. Thanks for such wonderful ideas. Do you hear from your readers much? what kind of things do they say?
BlackPearl_4044: I hear a lot from my readers. Most of them If not all, find my book good. I receive comments like;
"I wanted to read just two chapters but I end up reading all."
"Oh my God! This has given me an idea on how to treat my girlfriend."
"I love your work. Keep inking your pen."
"This book is fire."
"Your way of writing is unique." And many more.
My readers don't criticize my work but they do point out mistakes and I make sure to correct them. I would use this opportunity to thank my readers all of you, thank you so much. Without you guys I wouldn't have make it here. I like reading your feedbacks and I am so happy to have such beautiful and handsome people as my readers. Thank you for being my pillar of support in this journey of mine and I would surely keep updating you with my good works by the grace of God. Blackpearl loves you all. Thank you, I'm really grateful.
Interviewer: Awww, that's so beautiful. Lastly, Do you like to create books for adult?
BlackPearl_4044: Well, I don't have a specific way of creating my book or on what age I prefer writing it. If the message I want to pass would suit a teenager, I go for it and if an adult would fit the role, then I would choose an adult.
Interviewer: Thank you so much for your time, Fatima and for that wonderful suggestion you gave to us on writing. I've learnt something from you today which I feel so grateful for. Thanks again.
BlackPearl_4044: You're most welcome. I really feel honored because of the way you find the time to interview such a novice author, thank you so much❤️.
