I was afraid of the dark.

Scared to drown in chilling abyss.

When shadows

threaten to cover happiness.

When life starts

to seem void or meaningless.

I know it's just the dark that's blinding me.

It's hard to see

the hope, the purpose,

beyond my hand in front of my face.

But Your Voice

Pierces through the void,

chasing 'way the shadows:

"I am the Light of the world.

He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness,

but have the light of life."

And hearing Your Words shine I know

With You

I'll be alright.

Lord, Your Word is a Lamp to my feet and a Light to my path.

I feel You take my hand,

You light my lamp,

You are the Light engulfing me

in sheltered safety.

I'm held in warm eternal glow as You embrace me.

The meaningless abyss

Was only ever an illusion

The hopelessness I felt, just blindness to the hope

When I walk by faith and not by sight

shadows can't cover the light.

Yes, though alone I would have drowned in darkness

with You I'm blessed to always walk in endless light.

And though I'm afraid of the dark..

Though I walk through the valley where the deadly shadow looms

I know I'll be okay

My Shepherd is the Lamp who always stays

You are the shielding blazing Light who never leaves me nor forsakes.

You are my Light and my Salvation!

what darkness shall I fear?

When I'm in Your Light,

forever in the warm Glow of Your ever-shining Love,
