Raiden drags Kayori to the academy. He asks a senior student for the directions to the great hall and finally reaches his destination.

Raiden: Hey Kayori! For heaven's sake, wake up!

But kayori doesn't wake up. Just then, a boy walks to them.

Boy: Hey Raiden! Long time no see!

Raiden: Hey Tobi! 

Tobi: Wo! You look in trouble, is that you master?

Raiden: Yeah... Can you help?

Tobi: Sure! 

He takes The bags from his hands.

Raiden: Thanks!

Tobi: I can't believe you actually agreed to serve someone like her. She seems to be a VERY big responsibility. 

Raiden: She is, but I think I can handle her.

Tobi: My master is a guy so he's not that big of a trouble. 

Raiden: Lucky you. ( Definitely not interested)

Tobi: Come, there are two seats over there.

Raiden: Okay, thanks a lot!

Raiden takes Kayori to the seats and puts her on one, siting beside her. She places her head on his shoulder once again , still sleeping. 

Raiden: Seriously Kayori, you have to wake up now! The ceremony will start any minute now!

Kayori: I'm up...I'm up....

Kayori mumbles in her sleep.

Just then, the ceremony begins. A teacher walks to the dice.

Teacher:  Good Morning students. As the senior students already recognize me, for the new comers, I'm your ancient studies professor, Aki Sarotobi. I warmly welcome you all to The Hoshiko academy for warriors.... Beginning today's entrance ceremony, I'd like to call the head master, Mr. Len Mizuken, to say a few words to our students. 

She goes backstage and the headmaster walks to the dice. Apparently, he is a 20 years old young man.

(As you all must have noticed,he has the same last name as Kayori. He is Kayori's big brother but not by blood. Her parents adopted him after the death of her mom's sister. After studying in the academy for all four years, he became a professor there and later was promoted to become the head master.)

As soon as he walks out from the backstage, all the female students begin to squeal and a few even faint. The boys clap with all their might.He stands in front of the dice, raises his hand and everyone shuts up with pin drop silence.

Raiden's thoughts: He's quite the man.... I can't believe these two are related! At least they are cousins! He surely knows how to make an impression....

Len: Good morning students. I welcome you all to this academy. I hope you all have a good time here.....Every year, ten thousand students apply to be admitted in this institute and only five hundred of them are selected. You all are one of those students...That's because you all have that potential. In the coming years , I hope to see you turning that potential into power with hard work! Every student in this academy has a goal in their lives, I want you to work hard to achieve yours.... We all are warriors and my advice for you all is to remember, WE LIVE AND DIE FOR THIS KINGDOM AND IF YOU CAN'T DO THAT, THEN YOU DON'T DESERVE TO BE HERE! I'd like to inform the first year students that if you think it will be easy then you are VERY wrong because I promise it won't. As for the seniors, I congratulate you all for passing your final exams. The fourth years will be trained even harder now so get ready. I hope you all will turn out to be warriors, your mentors will be proud of.... I also want to inform the new students that we are very strict about academy rules. You all will be handed a rules book so read it and remember it cause you usually don't get second chances here. In the end, I wish you all best of luck. Thank you.... Oh! And... Head master fan club is officially banned. Thank you....

Girls: WHAT?! NOOOO!!! THAT'S NOT FAIR!!

Raiden's thoughts: He's such a show off. I thought he changed.

Len leaves the stage and goes to his seat. Aki (The professor) Comes back.

Raiden's thoughts:.... DAMN! NOW IS...!

Aki: Silence!.... I'd now like to call this year's student representative, Kayori Mizuken and her live sword, Raiden Ohiya to share a few words with us. 

...................

Whispers;

Mizuken?! is she head master's sister?! 

I heard she was joining! 

Is she strong?!

Yeah! She was amazing during the tests!

But isn't she the weird and clumsy girl?

Yeah, bet the headmaster pulled some strings to get her in here!

Raiden panics and begins shaking Kayori.

Raiden: Kayori!!!! Wake up! It's your turn!!! Please!! WAKE UP!

Aki: Kayori Mizuken!... are you there? Kayori Mizuken!

Kayori rubs her eyes. She looks around and finds herself in the academy.

Kayori: AAAA!!!!

She jumps away from raiden and he puts fingers in his ears, blocking her screams and squeals. She jumps up and down, looking around.

Kayori: I'm here! I'm here! I'm in the academy!!!!! Oh My God Raiden look!

Everyone was staring and laughing at her. Raiden was like;

Len sighs and puts his hand on his forehead.

Len's thoughts: What do I do with this girl...? 

Kayori stops jumping around and looks at Raiden.

Kayori: Raiden, what's wrong? Why are you making that expression?

Raiden: You..! (cut off)

Aki: Miss! Are you Kayori Mizuken?

Kayori: Yup!

Aki: Then will you please, finally come and deliver a speech?!

Kayori: Speech?

Raiden: You're the student representative, remember?!

Kayori: Oh Yeah! Lets go Raiden!

Raiden's thoughts: I've got a real bad feeling about this!

Kayori grabs his hand and joyfully walks up the stage and to the dice. She nicely bows and Raiden does the same.

After that, Kayori begins to blankly stare at the audience.

Raiden: Kayori! What are you doing?! Say something!

Kayori: But what?

Raiden: The speech! I told you to write one. You did, didn't you?!

Kayori:.... I forgot.

She rubbed the back of her head. Everyone couldn't hear their conversation but were still laughing at them.

Aki walks to them.

Aki: Is there a problem? Please hurry up.

Raiden clenches his fists with anger.

Raiden's thoughts: I hate it when people laugh at her! It's my fault, I should've done it myself! No more! I can't stand her insult! We are leaving now!

He grabs her hand and pulls her.

Raiden: Lets just go!

Kayori stops him.

Kayori: Come on Raiden, Don't be mad! I know just what to say so don't worry. K K?!~~

Kayori goes back to the dice and Raiden silently follows her.

Kayori: Hi everyone! I'm Kayori Mizuken and This is my live sword, Raiden Ohiya!

She had a bright smile on her face.

Kayori: I'm so glad to be here! But I am facing a problem, I forgot to right a speech! I'm so sorry about that! What I really wanna say is that today is a very BIIIIIGGGGG DAY! For all of us! We got admitted in this academy!! I'm sooooooo happy! Big bro says that it'll be dangerous and difficult here but I believe that all we gotta do is have loads and loads! of fun and everything will be easy peasy! Don't you all agree?!

Raiden's thoughts: What is she doing?!!!

Unexpectedly, everyone answers: YEEESSSSSS!!!

Kayori turns her face to Raiden.

Kayori: See?! I told ya they will be friendly! Do ya all know?My live sword Raiden is like a grumpy old man! He complains about stuff all the time! But I still love him! He takes care of me and protects me too! He cooks yummy stuff for me too! He's like the bestest friend I can ask for! But that's all about me and him, lets get back on the real topic, Academy! I know it's boring and Miss Aki seems really scary but she's really nice! She gave me chocolates when she came to our house last year! I hope we all can be great friends and become awesome warriors! That's really important! Daddy says that. Despite the fact that everyone here wants us to grow old in just four years, lets have lots of fun and be happy! Big bro turned old too! I swear! He spends all his day in bed, sleeping whenever he visits home. He's so boring really! 

Len glares at Raiden , telling him to make her stop.

Scared, he whispers to Kayori.

Raiden: I think that's enough! Lets end this and leave!!

Kayori in the mic: What? but why? I wanna chat more!!

Raiden: Kayori!!!

Kayori: Raiden!!! I don't wanna!!!

Raiden grabs her and drags her down stage as she protests.

Kayori: Let me goooo!!!

Raiden: No! I think that's enough for one day!

Kayori: But I wanna talk!!!

Raiden: No!

Raiden takes her to their seats.

Kayori: But!

Raiden glares at her and she shuts up.

....................

She stays silent through out the remaining ceremony. Then they are handed the rule books (Each master-weapon pair gets one), and a key to their hostel room. Raiden puts them in his bag. Kayori is still silently sitting on her seat.

Raiden's thoughts: So now she's mad?! Seriously....

Raiden walks to her. Most of the students had already left.

Raiden: Lets go.

She silently stands up.He grabs her hand and they begin to walk to the hostel.

After a few minutes of silence, Kayori speaks up.

Kayori: Raiden... are you mad? 

Raiden: What if I am? It doesn't matter.

Kayori stops walking.

Kayori: Yes it does!

Raiden: Kayori, stop acting like that. You're my master and I'm your sword so treat me like one. I am not supposed to babysit you. 

Kayori:  But... you are my best friend... I WANT you to babysit me....

She gave him a sad puppy dog eyes look.

Raiden: (sigh) Okay now don't make that face! You know I can't stand you crying.

Kayori jumps into a hug, surprising and embarrassing Raiden.

Kayori: I love you!....

Raiden: ........yeah.... I love you too....

Raiden's thoughts: If only your love and mine were the same.... If only you would've loved me the way I do.....

Kayori lets go of him and they go to their room.

Raiden opens the door of their room.

It was like a small apartment. A bunk bed, bathroom and a separate area as kitchen. It wasn't too small. Just big enough for them to be comfortable.

(Something like this but no computers. They have no computers!!!)

Raiden: Now this is one nice thing about this academy...

Kayori jumps on his back.

Kayori: Don't be like that! I like this place!

Raiden: Kayori, stop jumping on me!

Kayori lets go of him and runs to the bed.

Kayori: You're no fun! I'm taking the upper one!

Raiden: No ways! You'll just fall and end up hurting yourself. (Closing the door behind)

Kayori: Nah! You'll catch me every time!!

Raiden: Well that's true but still...

Kayori: Don't worry! Seriously,when will you start acting your age? You're a 15 year old,young and of course handsome boy! not a grumpy old man!

Raiden: Look who's talking. Me being mature isn't as bad as you acting like a 3 year old all the time.

Kayori: Hmph! I don't see any problems with me.

Raiden: That's the problem.... Okay now quit wasting time and go freshen up. We need to get unpacking. We have almost three days to settle in. 

( It's Friday and academy starts on Monday) 

Kayori: Okay! 

She opens her bag and drags her towel out of it. But just before she's about to go to the bathroom, Raiden stops her.

Raiden: What are you doing? This isn't ONLY your room so take your clothes with you and change in there. You can't walk around in towel while I am in here!

Raiden's thoughts: Does she even know that I'm a guy?

Kayori: Oh yeah! I forgot, sorry.

Finally, after taking her clothes, she goes in. 

Raiden: (sigh) She's too much...

He begins unpacking his suitcases.

( Extra info: Back at home, They didn't live in the same room but obviously a master can need his or her weapon at any time so they had a door that connected their rooms. Raiden hardly ever used it and always used the front door to her room, knocking before entering. As for Kayori, she doesn't know what knocking is (sarcasm) she used the door all the time, barging in his room whenever she wanted. That's why Raiden could never casually walk around in his room in a bath towel or change there. Not to mention sleeping shirtless. Poor guy never knew when she'd come running in not so his room. At first he was uncomfortable but then he got used to it all. )

By the time Kayori came out, Raiden had already prepared lunch. (Yes they already had ingredients and don't ask how)

She walks to and sits beside the window. It was raining. 

Raiden sets the table.

Raiden: Kayori, come and eat. I don't wan't you to make excuses about being hungry and tired later when you unpack your stuff.

Kayori didn't reply. She was blankly staring at the trees through the window. She was spaced out and was thinking about nothing.

Suddenly she heard a voice, a whisper.

"Amaya.... Amaya.... I'm so happy to see you.... welcome home..."

Kayori: What?

Raiden: Huh?

Raiden walks to her.

Raiden: What happened? U okay?... you never ignore food.

Kayori:.... Did you hear that?

Raiden: Hear what?

Kayori: .....N..Nothing.... Man! I must be very hungry!

She stands up with a jump and sits by the table, ready to dig in.

Kayori: This looks so yummy!!! Thanks Raiden!!

Raiden: Don't over eat. K?

Kayori: When was the last time I did that?

Raiden: Umm.... last week . When I made those sandwiches....?

Kayori: I hate the way you remember everything! Fine, I won't over eat. 

Raiden smiles then sighs and walks to the cupboards. ( There are two of them. One for each of them to keep their clothes in) He grabs a towel and throws it on her head.

Raiden: Dry your hair! You know you catch cold fast!

Kayori: But I am eating!

Raiden: (Sigh) You're hopeless.

Kayori: Teehee!

Raiden walks to her and sits behind her, drying her hair. After he's done, he stands up and starts walking away.

Kayori: Won't you eat too?

Raiden: I think I'll take a bath first. But while I am doing so, YOU are going to put your stuff in this cupboard. Okay?

Kayori: Okay~~~~

Raiden goes to take a bath. Kayori finishes off her meal, puts the plates in the sink for Raiden to wash and begins unpacking. She puts the picture of her family and another of her and Raiden, on the side table of the bed and smiles. 

Kayori's thoughts: What was that voice? Was I just imagining it?...... but who's Amaya? I know I don't know anyone with that name..... And then this isn't my home.... I should stay sharp and if I hear it again, I'll tell Raiden about it..... Then maybe, I am just homesick! That might be it. I miss mommy and daddy!

..........

In the afternoon, they head to the head master's office to formally apologize for Kayori's careless behavior but obviously, Kayori just wanted to meet her brother. After a bit of scolding from her brother, they enjoy tea together and the two return back to their room a little past 8:00 pm.

Kayori: I'm so glad to meet him after so long! Plus his secretary makes delicious muffins!

Raiden: Now that's rare. You hardly ever like deserts that others make.

Kayori: That's only because I'm an amazing baker! If I do say so myself.

Raiden: Well you can only make deserts. People rather die than eating food that you cook... even a simple cup of tea is a disaster!

Kayori: But you eat them every time so they can't be THAT bad.

Raiden: I eat them in hope that you might be getting better and I can't waste food even if it is a nightmare. 

By now, both of them were sitting side by side on the bed. Kayori hugs him.

Kayori: You just don't wanna make me feel bad, admit it...

Raiden: Whatever... (Blushing and looking away)

Kayori lets go and puts her hands on her stomach.

Kayori: All this food talk is making me hungry!

Raiden: On it... (In the laziest tone ever)

Raiden stands up and goes into the kitchen.

Kayori: Yayyyy!!!!

Then they have dinner. 

(I know, I know, it's all about eating in this chapter but it'll change in the next chap. I want you all to know there daily routine life)

Raiden washes the dishes.

Kayori: I can wash them.

Raiden: You will, tomorrow. We'll be taking turns.

Kayori: Ok but can we take turns in cooking too? I feel like you are working too much.

Raiden: No please. I can do all the work in order to stop you from cooking.

Kayori: Uh! Whatever!

Raiden: Go and change into something comfortable while I wash these. It's bed time.

Kayori: Already?! We have tomorrow off! Can't we stay up a little longer?

Raiden: No. Even if it is off tomorrow, we have to wake up early to go and get our class schedule and you have to give final submissions of the name of your weapon. Then weren't you the one who wants to meet your friends?

Kayori: Such a long to do list even when it's a weekend!!! I miss my happy carefree days! But you're right... guess it's time for bed then...

Raiden's thoughts: Misses them? She's still happy and carefree..... I really don't get her. But her childishness makes her so cute.

Raiden also changes into a more comfortable t-shirt and shorts. Kayori wins the argument about who's getting the upper bed. She climbs up and lays down on her bed. Raiden switches the lights off and goes to bed too. 

Kayori: Good night Raiden.

Raiden: Good night.

Raiden's thoughts: Today was a busy day.... I think that's how it's going to be from now on.... Her brother is right, she's way too easy going so I have to make sure she's safe. This is a total new place for her and then, he thinks that someone is after her too...  

Flashback;

Just before Raiden and Kayori were going to leave her brother's office, he stopped Raiden and told Kayori to leave first.

Raiden: What is the matter sir? You seem very worried.

Len: She's in danger.

Raiden: Danger?! Kayori?

Len: There has been news... The group that attacked her when she was young... one of the men was seen near the academy. I have increased the security but still.... make sure she's safe. I trust you Raiden. You have done a great job taking care of her and making her strong. I don't think anyone can protect her other than you so don't prove me wrong. And don't make that same mistake ever again....

Raiden looked at him in the eye.

Raiden: I won't... She'll be safe.

Len: Good.

Just then, Kayori opens the door.

Kayori: Raiden!!! Come on already!

Raiden: Coming!

Raiden runs after her.

........End of flashback......

Raiden's thoughts: I'll protect her. No one hurts my Kayori!

An hour later;

Kayori: Raiden...are you asleep?

Raiden: No... What's wrong?

Kayori: I can't sleep... It's a new place and I'm nervous about going to the academy...

Raiden: It happens.... don't worry, You'll get used to this....

Kayori remained silent. It was dark in the room. Raiden heard the sound of Kayori climbing down her bed. He could feel that she was standing right beside his bed. 

Kayori: Move over.

Raiden silently moves over and she lays down beside him.

This is how it has been for them. Kayori was scared of thunder so whenever there was a thunder storm, or when she was upset , nervous or anything that prevented her from sleeping, she'd sleep with him. She felt relieved and safe. 

Raiden's thoughts: No matter what I do... I can never get used to this. I always get embarrassed.... But if she can sleep peacefully then I don't mind....

Kayori's thoughts: I'm glad that raiden's always with me. I feel so safe and happy when he's around....

I know you all must be thinking that Raiden is more like Her mom and that's true. He takes care of her like that. I'll make sure that the next chapter is not this weird.
