A friend of mine died from suicide several years ago, and personally I have had suicidal thoughts for years. ProjectFlashFlood is focused on the recent wave of suicidal content published on Wattpad each week. We want people to see how suicide, self-mutilation, and drugs are not meant to be made sweet. We want people to see the raw truth of these issues, and be able to help people who need help and don't know where to turn.

On the flip side of the coin, ProjectFlashFlood is here to help writers in any form. New writers keep coming and joining Wattpad every day and they need help to be able to advance and be able to become popular like they aspire to be. In making this project I remember right after my friend committed suicide, and I found Wattpad and started writing. I was new and not experienced. I would of loved to have the help any writer needs to really get their foot in the door. When I started writing, I used it as a way to get out my suicidal feelings, and be able to speak words I couldn't express. I think writing, in any way, can help your emotions and might be able to save a life.

Our goal is not to only raise awareness of the problems that lead people down those dark roads, but to also help our lovely new writers be able to blossom and learn. Who knows, in so doing maybe we'll be able to help some emotionally struggling writers get through that rough patch in there lives and become as good as they can be."
