CHAPTER 20 ¬ HOPELESS ROMANTICS

Adam sighed in defeat as he stared at his friend Nick who keeps chugging a glass of Pepsi cola. They were currently at Burger King at 11 in the morning. Nick didn't attend school due to being broken-hearted. He texted Adam to come over here since he doesn't have classes for today.

"Imagine, out of more than 7 billion people, my brother and my heart beats for the same person." Nick chuckled, as his eyes get teary.

"Shida isn't the only woman left in the world." Adam brings out his phone, "Bumble is the key. Hold on, I'll make a bumble profile for you."

"No! No....you don't get it. I don't think I can.......replace her." Nick started sobbing. "She's the epitome of sunshine. She brightens up my day full of dullness. She's the sunshine that I wanna see first in the morning every time I woke up."

"What the hell are you talking about, you lovesick fool? She is just your happy crush. Go find someone else better than her in bumble. This is where I met Britt. So I trust this app."

"Not all people get lucky in terms of love like you. It will not work for me." He poured another Pepsi on his glass.

"Willie nelson once said, 'once you replace negative thoughts with positives ones, you'll start having positive results." Adam tapped his shoulder. "Anyway, time will heal pain, buddy. You'll lose your feelings for her at some point."

*It's supposed to hurt, it's a broken heart. But to movin' on is the hardest part...*

Adam raised his brows to Nick hearing his ringtone. Even his ringtone reflects on his current situation.

"I'm not in the mood. Can you answer it for me?"

Adam swiped and accepted the call, "Welcome to Jeremiah's pizza place and funeral home where today's loss is tomorrow's sauce! How may I help you?"

["Fvck you, Adam! Wait, why do you have Nick's phone?"] It was Kenny Omega on the line.

["He's in Spain. Don't disturb him."]

["Spain?"]

["Yeah. He's in Spain without S."]

Back at the All Elite University, Tay Conti and Anna Jay were having lunch together, talking about random stuff.

"You sure you don't want to date my other butler Preston? That guy looks so fine as hell."

"What? No! I would never date him." Tay answered and immediately changed the topic, "So, what happened on your journey on Omegle? Did you find a boyfriend?"

Anna rolled her eyes, "None of them are worth it."

"Allie met her boyfriend in Omegle and he's a nice guy. I'm sure you'll find one."

"Yeah. Maybe that's true. Maybe the joke is on me." Anna looked at herself on the reflection of the back of the spoon. "Aside from having a beautiful face, there's nothing really good about me."

"Hundred percent right." Tay chuckled.

"You're so mean. As far as I know, I'm the mean one between the two of us." Anna hissed.

"I just said that 'cause that's the truth. I'm your best friend and true friends say good things behind your back and bad things to your face. But even though you are like that, even though you look like a monster, I'll accept your flawless and for who you are."

Tay's wholesome as apple pie words somehow made Anna's sadness decreased. She made Anna emotionally stirred with gratitude.

"Maybe I should start getting rid of this attitude. I'll try to stop it as much as possible. Maybe, the people I like can accept." Anna suddenly said. Tay was about to reply when a guy sat on the table and placed his tray.

"You don't need to change yourself for others. You are already perfect in your own way."

"Wow. You're being soft again." Anna chuckled. "What do you want, Maxwell, aside from me?"

"Stop calling me soft." He warned her in low voice. "I just wanna say an important thing to you."

"You sounds so serious. I don't like it." Anna swallowed the glowing lump on her throat.

"You're the star in someone's sky," MJF said without looking at Anna which made Tay giggled in her seat.

"You should've written it on a purple sticky note." Anna teased, making MJF rolled his eyes.

"But Maxwell, how many times should I tell you I don't like you, you hopeless romantic?" Anna said with attitude.

MJF raised his brows, "Bruh, I'm not referring to myself."

"Oh wow. I know you like my best friend but the feelings not mutual and yet you are still here, being a cupid, pushing her to someone else just to make her happy. That is so selfless! I love it!" Tay smiled.

"Anna, I want you to be happier without you in my arms. In that way, I would be happy as well." Tay added, mocking MJF's voice.

"I am seeing a character development. This book is really about to end." Anna poked MJF's side.

"The two of you are being weird now. I'm outta here." MJF rolled his eyes and walks away from the table. Tay couldn't stop laughing while Anna looked at the other table and stared at someone.

On the left side of Cafeteria, glancing at Kenny on the other table, Riho was seen smiling from ear to ear as he sent him a message.

texting the most gorgeous woman I ever laid my eyes on. :)

Riho bites her lower lip, trying not to scream in glee. Shida and Nyla exchanged looks and shrugged.

unfortunately, she's not replying

Riho got confused and continued asking Kenny but the latter stopped replying to her. Riho was seen having furrowed brows across her face until Nyla shared something.

"OMG, girls! Check the student's forum where gossips are the center of attention!"

Shida looks on her phone screen, "News flash; Number three ranked student Kenny Omega is dating Mister Tully Blanchard's daughter and Impact University's child, Tessa...?!"

"Is that true?" Were the words came out from Riho's mouth.

"Girl, our university's forum never lied. Even the rumor between our librarian and security guard having an affair came out legit. OMG! First me and my baby Wardlow, and now Omega and Tessa? There's a lot of relationships blooming today. I wonder who are the others?"

Shida splashed the juice from her mouth and gets uncomfortable. Riho stood up and run away without telling her friends.

"Poor Riho," Nyla commented and since Riho is having strong pain and emotions, the rain started pouring outside.

Hundreds of needles stabbed Riho's heart. She couldn't take the fact that Kenny is in a relationship now. Her dreams crashed. Wiping her tears, she went to the location where every very dramatic scene took place, the rooftop.

Riho burst out in crying and the skies began pouring heavy rains, making her soak in wet.

Someone approached the poor Riho and stand next to her under his big umbrella.

Riho looked up to him in tears, confused seeing this person in front of her. He patted her head like a dog and flashed a smirk.
