Chapter Three
Aella POV
I looked up and couldn't believe what I saw.
There was a girl with glowing redish orangish hair that was cut so it didn't even go past her ears. Part of her hair went just a little over her left eye. She had glowing yellow eyes that looked like they were staring into my soul. (Lol I say that a lot in real life.)
She wore a red vest that was unzipped so I could see her orange shirt underneath. She wore knee high boots that were as black as midnight. The belt she wore had similar jewels on it but they were orange, yellow, and red.
My mind told me exactly what she was. A Nether girl.
I immediately jumped up, drew my battle axe, and aimed to throw it at her head.
The Nether girl's eyes widened in fear.
"No please! I mean you no harm!" She cried out.
And so I would believe her, she took out her sword that was on her belt and she threw it over the edge of the floating island.
"Who are you and what are you doing here?" I asked trying to act menacing.
"I'll tell you everything. But please, put the battle axe down." The Nether girl gestured to my sapphire battle axe that was in my hand. I looked at it and sighed. Then dropped it.
"As you may have noticed, I'm a Nether girl. My name is Nashira. I've run away from the Nether because I am not accepted there anymore. So I've come here to try and live here." She explained.
"How do I know that you're not lying?" I asked.
Nashira took her vest off and revealed on her left arm a huge cut dripping code.
"This is what they did to me." She said.
I gasped.
"You need to get that bandaged up. I'll go get my med kit." I explained.
And without giving Nashira any time to say anything, I unfurled my wings and took off.
Time Skip
When I had gotten back with bandages and medicine, I applied it to the wound.
"Thank you." Nashira said thankfully. "So do you trust me now?"
"What are you talking about? Of course! Also, my name is Aella." I answered.
"We can't let anyone like my mom or anyone know that you're a Nether girl. They'll surely kill you if they figure out, so I grabbed this." I reached inside my bag and pulled out a bottle with glowing blue liquid in it.
"This potion will make you look like an Aether being. That way you won't get caught." I explained.
I handed it to her and she looked at it in her hands.
"So do I just drink it?" She asked.
"Of course. Do you want me to pour it on your wound?" I joked.
"Okay. Now I see your good side." She chuckled.
Nashira POV
I took the lid off the bottle. The blue glow of it was even more intense now that I let some air in.
I sighed.
"Here goes."
"Wait!" Aella interrupted.
"What?"
"Don't drink it all. You have to save some for tomorrow. You only stay in that form for so long." She explained.
"Okay thanks for the heads up." I said.
I smelled some of the blue substance before drinking it. It smelled like how warm milk tastes.
Please taste good. I thought to myself.
I quickly tipped my head back and drank some of it.
I gagged a bit from the surprising taste. It was unbelievably sour and hard to take. I handed the bottle to Aella before I dropped it.
A few seconds later I could feel myself changing.
My clothes turned white and blue, my hair turned a pale white, and my eyes changed a deep ocean blue.
In a few moments the sour taste in my mouth disappeared and I felt normal again.
"Well, how do I look?" I asked.
"Completely different. I can hardly recognize you." Aella answered.
"That's good. So what now?" I asked.
"How about I show you around the Aether?" Suggested Aella.
"Sure."
Aella unfurled her blue and white wings and flew a bit off the ground.
I unfurled my wings too. Instead of them being red and orange, they were a pale snow white with the occasional blue in them. (By the way, I'm royal but Aella doesn't know that. So don't tell.)
We lifted off into the air calmly. I followed close behind Aella because I didn't know where we were going.
"Uh, Aella."
"Yeah?"
"Uh where are we going?"
"To the village. I'm gonna see if I can get you settled into a house." She explained.
"Oh! Okay."
We flew for a few calm minutes. It felt so nice here in the Aether. It wasn't at all hot and gloomy and I could feel this invisible thing blowing across my face. I've never experienced it before.
A little while later, we landed on a huge floating island. It had a village on it and there were lots of people here. The houses were so beautiful with the different shades of blue.
I closed my wings and looked around. Some people were looking at me and mumbling to people beside them. They pointed at me which made me feel uncomfortable.
A boy around 11 or 12 walked up to me.
"I don't think I've seen you before in the Aether. What's your name?" He asked.
I froze. Oh no! I can't use my real name they'll know that I'm not a real Aether being. My heart raced. Adrenaline ran through me.
"Uh my uh name is uh A-a-"
"Ally. Her name is Ally. And she's just come from one of the far away villages to stay a couple of nights." Interrupted Aella.
I sighed a breath of relief.
"Hi Ally. I hope you enjoy your stay here. My name is Aidan. By the way, if you don't have a place to stay you could always stay in my family's guest room. They're away right now so you have the choice." The Aether boy explained.
"Thanks Aidan. I think that'll work just fine. Right Ally?" Aella said.
"Yeah sure." I answered.
"Then you can come with me. I'll show you to your room." Aidan said.
The picture at the top is Nashira/Ally if you were wondering. Comment down below if the picture doesn't show up. If it doesn't then I'll put it in the next chapter.
Glad you guys are enjoying my book.
