Chapter Five

Aella POV

When we got to the castle grounds, I told Ally to stay by the gates. I went into the castle gardens and saw the queen (Aka my aunt.) with Shayla. Shayla was playing with a little baby bunny while the queen was reading a book out loud to her.

"Excuse me Aunt Anna." I said trying to act polite.

"Yes Aella? What may I do for you?" She wondered while looking up from the book.

"Can I borrow Shayla for a bit? I have someone for her to meet." I explained.

"Of course. Shayla was just talking about you." Answered the queen happily.

The little Aether girl jumped up and bounded after me out of the castle gardens excitedly.
When we were out of the gates I looked around but couldn't see Ally. Until I heard someone step on a twig right behind me. I whirled around, took out my battleaxe and pointed it straight at Ally.

"Oh come on! I thought I could get you!" She complained.

"You're gonna have to be quicker than that to scare me. Come on, Shayla is waiting for us right ahead." I explained while pointing to Shayla. She was calling and whining for me to hurry up.

When we had caught up to her, Shayla was tapping her foot impatiently.

"Sorry Shayla. I was having problems with getting out guest here." I apologized.

Ally shot me a glare at that explanation. I ignored it and continued with the introduction.

"Shayla, this is Ally. She's staying here for about a week visiting from a different Aether village." I explained even though I knew I was lying I didn't want to blow Nashira's cover saying that she actually lived in the Nether.

"Ally, this is my cousin Shayla. She's one of the princesses of the Aether." I told Ally.

"Nice to meet you Ally." Shayla said while holding out her hand expecting Ally to shake it.

Ally eyed Shayla's hand suspiciously but took the offer.

"It's uh nice to meet you too." She replied.

"Come on Ally, let's let Shayla go back to what ever she was doing and go meet the rest of my siblings that aren't away." I suggested.

Shayla nodded and bounded off back to the castle gardens.

Time Skip

"Here take this." I said to Ally. I handed her a diamond battleaxe. She took it with a curious expression.

"What am I gonna use this for?" She wondered.

"I'm gonna show you how to throw it at an opponent." I explained.

I adjusted my sapphire battleaxe in my hand and held my hand out to aim it at the skyewood stump nearby and threw it. It spun while sailing towards the stump and the blade landed right in the middle of it.
Ally clapped at me and I took a playful bow to be funny.

"Okay, now you try." I said gesturing to the next stump.

Ally's eyes grew big and her expression was a bit nervous.

"No no no! I can't do that! I'm only good at archery." She explained trying to give me the battleaxe.
I pushed it away while making a "just do it" expression.

"Come on Nashira. Can you at least try?" I asked.

She turned away and crossed her arms.

"I'm gonna fail y'know."

"Try once, if you don't like it, then we'll do some archery. Sound good?"

Nashira sighed. "Fine." She took the battleaxe and turned it around in her hands.

I sighed. Then grabbed her hands and positioned the axe in her hands the right way.

"Now take your other hand off of it and raise the battleaxe over your head." I explained.

She took her hand off of it and raised it up. But ended up dropping it behind her.

"It's too heavy." She whined.

"Stop complaining. You have to get used to it." I shot back.

Nashira sighed and tried again. This time getting it over her head and just struggling to hold it up. I grabbed her hands before they let the battleaxe go and tightened them onto the handle.

"Pull it back to get ready to throw it but not too far back. You don't wanna throw it up above your head." I explained.

Nashira threw the axe as hard as she could and it spun a couple times in mid air before slamming against the skyewood log. Well the top of the log. She had thrown it too hard so it had flailed over the log and fell onto the top of it.

I sighed. This was gonna take a while.

Time Skip ( Like a couple minutes after Ally had gotten the hang of throwing battleaxes.)

"Great! Now just put your hand out and throw!" I instructed to Ally. She closed one eye and threw the battleaxe. It sailed through the air just like how mine does when I throw it. It slammed against the skywood log and this time, stayed there. It had landed right in the middle.

I clapped my hands and ran to the log. Over half of the blade was wedged in there. Ally had thrown it hard.

"Nice job Ally. Now do you like this?" I asked walking towards her.

She nodded. "You were right Aella. This is fun. Can we do some archery now? A bow is so much lighter."

I chuckled. "Yeah sure. I'll go get my extra archery set and then we'll be able to start." I answered.
I unfolded my wings and took off to the house.

Time Skip (How many time skips will I do this in one chapter?)

Ally/Nashira POV

When Aella had gotten back with arrows and two bows she handed one of them to me and half of the amount of arrows which was eight. Archery is more fun for me than throwing battleaxes. I'm much more experienced in archery anyway so I guessed that this was going to be fun.

"Wanna have a contest?" I asked Aella.

"What kind?" She wondered.

"Let's see who can get the most bullseyes. We'll have three rounds." I explained.

"I'm in!" Aella answered.

We each picked up an arrow and knocked it onto the string. I pulled the string back up to my cheek and aimed the arrow.

"Three, two, one," I paused for a few seconds.

"GO!"

We each released our strings and both arrows sailed through the air. They both whistled as well. I heard two loud thumps and saw both arrows had went for the same target. They were both in the bullseye but weren't touching each other.

Before I even knew it, I saw another arrow whiz through the air. It hit the target right behind the first and landed right in the middle too. I turned to face Aella and saw she was knocking another arrow onto her string.

"Wasn't this a race?" She asked.

I then smacked my head. Then put two arrows onto the string and let go. They sailed through the air once again and hit the target even farther than Aella's.
This continued for a little while until we were all out of arrows. I had finished first while Aella still had one more arrow.

"Okay okay, you win that. But remember, we still have two more rounds. I could beat you." Aella said.

"We'll see about that." I said competitively but jokingly.

I ran to retrieve my arrows while Aella did the same.
When I was done, we started round two.

Time Skip

I shot my last arrow during round three but saw Aella already had been done. She had put her bow down and was clapping happily.

"Good game Ally. But I won. Told you!" She said.

I nodded and sighed. "Well, I think it's time to go. The sun is high in the sky so we should probably have lunch now." I explained.

"You're right. Oh! I know just where we can have lunch but you have to promise not to tell anyone about it." Said Aella.

"Okay I promise. Let's go get our arrows and then we can go there." I agreed.

We did so and quickly went into the village to buy a few things for lunch.
When we had our food ready and hot, we walked to the edge of the floating island, Aella unfolded her wings and I did the same.
She flapped her wings and rose up, she flew off the island and I trailed after her.

We sailed through the air for a few minutes. It was calming, fun, and the wind going through my hair felt awesome. I turned to look at Aella and her face told me that she thought the exact same. The way it the secret place would be even better if my stomach wasn't empty. It made the occasional growling noise that didn't help at all. I sure hoped that we would get there soon. Well before I die of hunger.

We eventually came to a small floating island that had a little hill, a few trees bearing delicious looking fruit, and a chest that was overflowing with stuff. And when I mean stuff, I mean precious jewels and metals, a couple carving knives, and little pieces of skywood logs. This place had practically everything.

We landed right at the end of the island and Aella brought out a soft looking blanket to sit on. I sat down on it and immediately felt at home on this island. I looked around and on my left, I saw a little movement. It was something blue with little green and yellow marks all over it, and had a scaly blue tale. It was behind a small blue bush doing something.
I stood up and walked over to it. I went behind the bush and saw a small, baby blue, Aether dragon. He was eating a purple fruit that was oozing pink juice. The dragon turned to look at me and revealed a little snout that was stained and dripping pink fruit juice. His sapphire blue eyes stared into my soul intently.

"Awwwwww!" I cooed. He was the most adorable little creature I had ever seen. I kneeled down and held my hand out for him to sniff.

I was suddenly interrupted by Aella calling me a couple blocks away.

"Nashira, come and eat!" She called.

"Okay!" I answered. I stood up and walked over to the blanket. There was steak, bread, beetroot soup, and some of the juicy fruit that came from the trees.

"This looks amazing Aella! Is this what you got from the village?" I asked.

"Yep! What are you waiting for? Have as much as you want!" She answered.

At those words, I didn't even have to be told twice. I immediately with one hand, I grabbed an orange fruit, and in the other I took a slice of bread, and stuffed them in my mouth.

Time Skip

I groaned while clutching my stomach.

"I think I ate too much!" I complained. And that's definitely what I thought. Or I was eating too fast. Or probably both.

"Yeah I might've gotten too much food for only lunch. I think we can finish it off at supper. Don't you think?" Agreed Aella.

Her face lit up a few seconds later.

"I think I know something or someone that'll keep your mind off of your stomach." She suggested.

Aella stood up and ran over to the bush that the little baby Aether dragon was. She came back holding him in her arms while he was trying to wipe his snout clean of fruit juice.

"This is Skyewood. My little pet Aether dragon." She explained.

"Yeah, I saw him when we just got here. He is the most adorable little thing I have ever seen." I said.

Aella nodded. But then her face darkened a bit. "Just promise not to tell anyone about him, or this place. I don't think my parents would like it very much if they knew I've been so far away from home. They get like that." She explained.

I chuckled. "That's the complete opposite of my parents. That's why I came here."

Aella kneeled down and placed Skyewood on the ground. She then stood back up and looked into the distance with a thoughtful expression.

"I think it's time to head back. My parents might get worried." She said.

I nodded in response. "Yeah, you're right. I'll get the blanket." I agreed.

We got all our stuff together and left the little floating island. I sure hoped we would get to go back there sometime.

Time Skip (Yep! This is a new record for time skips in one chapter. XD)

When we made it back to the main floating island, it was about an hour and a half until supper. So Aella and I practiced some combat against each other.
(Middle of combat training)

The sound of two swords clanging against each other filled my ears. But it wasn't the normal whincing of annoying loud sound for me. It was the great sound of fun and excitement. That's how I thought about it.

Aella swung her sword in my direction right by my head but I dodged it barely. I ducked and aimed for her legs but she jumped and landed on the blade of my sword. With all my strength, I kicked Aella in the knee and got my sword from under her. She fell back in surprise and a little bit of pain but soon got up lunged at me. We were quite close to the edge of the floating island when she jumped at me and accidentally pushed me over the edge.
I had lost my grip on my sword then so it had fallen all the way down beyond the clouds.
Aella gasped and screamed when she saw me go overboard. Fortunately for my sake, I had grabbed onto a stone block that was sticking out and held onto it with all my might.
It sure was a good thing that I had wings, because I had just remembered that when I got a hold of that block. I unfolded them and flew up back onto solid land.

Adrenaline was rushing through me when I had made it. That had been one of the most frightening moments in my life.
When Aella saw me panting and shaking, she ran out and hugged me.

"I'm sorry. Maybe we should go have supper now. Looks like you need it." She said.

I nodded still speechless. Aella got her sword and we both flew to the village.

Time Skip to Night. Where: Aidan's House (Because there's nothing that exciting about supper!)

I kicked my boots off and went upstairs to my room. Aella had just said bye to me and left to go to bed at her house.
When I got to my room I shut the door behind me with my foot and immediately jumped into bed.
I laid down and let my head sink into the soft pillow. My eyelids got heavy and I slowly and calmly drifted into my dreams.
P.S. Sorry that was so short.

Unknown POV

I woke up a few hours later. I sat up and turned to look at my clock. It said 11:45. Almost midnight.

I got up from bed and went over to my bag that was across the room. I reached inside it and pulled out the needle vile that was still holding Aella's blood sample that I had taken the other night.
I put it back into my bag and opened the door to my bedroom. The house was so eery and quite at near midnight.
I left my room and shut the door quietly making sure not to wake anyone up.
I crept across the hall and it the door into the cold outdoors. Believe me it was cold.

Darn it! I should've brought a jacket. But oh well. I thought to myself.

I ran across the front lawn and into an alleyway where no one would see me. Just to make sure, I looked around checking to see if anyone was watching. Luckily, no one was.
I reached inside my bag and pulled out a weird coloured block. It was shiny, a transparent blue, and was almost like a marble. But merged into a cube.
I threw it on the ground infront of me and it shattered and formed a rippling blue portal in the ground where I had thrown it.
I jumped inside and felt the weird nauseous feeling wash over me. The area around me got lighter, and lighter until I had to shield my eyes from the light.
The bright light eventually got dimmer and the blue faded away. In its place formed tables of chemistry, chests of supplies, and shelves of different kinds of potions.
Soon the blue had faded away completely and I was fully in my secret underground lab.
I walked over to one of the tables where an expensive and fragile chemistry set was. I set my bag down on that table and pulled out the needle vile with Aella's blood sample.

I went to the end of the chemistry set and placed the vile carefully onto this stand that was connected to the first glass pipe that lead to a metal box with a small glass window to look into. At the top of the box was a glass bottle with nothing in it. That bottle would have the essence in it to extract the little germs in the blood so the blood would be safe to drink as a potion.

I leaned over and detached the bottle from the box and brought it over to my potion brewing stand. I put it in the stand and went over to one of my chests with ingredients in it. I reached in and pulled out a bag with blue dust in it.
I sprinkled the dust into the bottle and poured a bit of water inside as well. The dust strangely turned into a neon yellow for some reason and the liquid was steaming hot. It's a good thing these glass bottles were heat proof so I could pick it up without getting my hands burned.

When the bottle of yellow liquid was done brewing, I brought the it over to my chemistry set where the blood sample was. I put the bottle back into the box and pressed the go button on the table so it could start making the blood sample into a very powerful potion.
The vile tipped to its side and poured out the white Aether blood. It was carried through the twisty glass pipes and into the metal box. It stopped in a glass bowl type of thing and the bottle with the neon yellow liquid in it was emptied into the bowl with the blood. It mixed for a few seconds. I watched through the little glass window carefully.

Little bubbles were popping at the top of the bowl and the blood was slowly diminishing. The yellow liquid mixed into the blood and soon the entire thing was a light glowing yellow with little blue specks in it still.
The liquid carried itself out of the box and through more of the twisty glass pipes. More materials were being added to it like about a teaspoon of blaze powder, two ghast tears, and a tablespoon of magma cream.

About thirty seconds later it was done. The liquid was is now a lime green with the little blue specks still in there.
It emptied itself into a glass bottle. Every last drop. I picked it up and grabbed a cork that was on the table beside me. I screwed it on and looked at the potion.

You're probably wondering what I had done to the blood sample. Well I had taken out the germs, added in other ingredients that you wouldn't understand, and the most important thing I had done was extracted Aella's DNA from it and merged it into a lime green drinkable essence. You'll soon figure out what it does to someone that drinks it.

I went over to my bag and put the potion inside. Then grabbed another portal cube and left back to the house. I then went back to bed like nothing happened.

Yes I know this chapter was probably the most boring one you have ever read and you probably don't wanna keep reading this book. But I promise you, the next chapter will be exciting. It will! It WILL!!!!!!!! Just please keep reading this book for my sake.
