Elyus's POV:

Magma erupts from the ground and I couldn't help but watch as part of Tiamut's golden head rose above the Indian Ocean, creating massive tsunami-like waves that viciously destroyed the smaller islands along with its left hand rising above the ground.

"There!" Sersi pointed to an area filled with magma and rubble but there was a small exposure spot of Tiamut's palm. "Take me there!"

"On it!" I push through the winds, guiding the tornado to move towards the spot, slowly shrinking the size to make sure we didn't accidentally get knocked off by the boulders.

Once we safely get to the ground, Sersi glanced at her glowing hands with a nervous look until it shifted to determination. She pressed her hands against the celestial, coating its golden palm in marble instead.

"Holy..." I trail in awe, watching as the cosmic energy spread until a burning sensation snaps me out of it.

I roll across the floor with a groan and look up, meeting Ikaris' hardened glare as he approached us, his eyes shining a bright gold in preparation to shoot his laser eyes again.

"Ikaris, stop!" Sersi yelled, stopping her actions as she protectively moved in front of me. "If you want to kill her...you'll have to go through me."

His eyes flickered between his normal ones and to gold, a look of despair filling his expression as he kept his stares at Sersi until a tear trickled down his cheek.

As much as he was loyal to Arishem, I knew Ikaris well enough that he wouldn't kill Sersi. He couldn't kill the woman he still loved.

And Sersi knew it too.

She placed her hands once more to the ground, emitting a bright geometrical glow and golden lines to emerge from her chest before she rose up at a high elevation from the ground.

Soon after, Ikaris and I rose up as well, similar geometric patterns outlining our bodies as we linked with the others golden power lines to lend and connect our power to Sersi.

With all the gathered energy, Sersi forces herself back on her feet and slams her hands against Tiamut's palm, allowing her powers to travel across its hand to cover it in marble.

I instinctively shut my eyes, feeling the harsh winds blow against us and only hearing the sounds of Sersi's screams as she exerted every bit of her power over the celestial being.

I sense the Uni-Mind link disconnect and I open my eyes once more, watching as Ikaris and I slowly lowered back to the ground.

I look around and my eyes widen at the sight of Tiamut's entire form covered in marble along with a flock of seagulls flying over the crashing waves.

I bend down to Sersi's level with a grin. "I knew you could do it." I whisper, pulling the prime eternal into a tight hug. "Ajak would be so proud of you. I'm so proud of you."

She pulled back, cupping my face with a tired smile. "I couldn't have done it without you."

I immediately shake my head. "I'm not the one who turned the celestial into marble."

A sniffle from behind causes me to jerk away from Sersi and turn, seeing Ikaris's tears flow down his cheeks with his expression filled with regret.

I still want to kill him.

"I'm sorry." He softly spoke up.

"I know." Sersi whispered with a small nod.

Ikaris slowly stood up from his spot, never taking his stares off of her until he quickly flies above us to the point we couldn't see him anymore.

I fly us back to the beach where the rest of the eternals stood, their expressions shifting to relief once they hear us land.

I smile, seeing that Thena didn't appear scathed and I didn't hesitate to run to the girl and pull her into an embrace. "Is the deviant...?" I hesitantly ask.

"Gone for good? He didn't stand a chance." Thena chuckled, reaching in my hair and flicked off some of the rubble. "Glad to see you two are okay. Heard you almost absorbed the oxygen out of Ikaris's lungs."

"If only Tiamut held back a little longer." I dramatically emphasize and she playfully rolls her eyes.

"How? How did you do it?" Phastos curiously asked Sersi once she pulled away from Makkari.

"When I touched Tiamut's palm, I felt energy surging into me." Sersi gestured to her suit that glowed, the linings still flowing with energy. "Tiamut joined our UniMind."

"I always wondered how we survived the destruction of other planets that we were on." Phastos glanced at Makkari before he signed, "By being connected to the Celestial as it emerged."

A sad smile appears on Makkari's face as she glanced at all of us. "We became one...even Ikaris and Sprite all because of Tiamut." She signed.

Her gaze stays set behind us and I follow her line of vision, seeing as Druig and Sprite were barely walking along the sand.

Not using her speed abilities, Makkari sprints over to Druig and the two share a hug, earning a grunt to escape from the mind controller.

He pulls back a bit, pressing his head against hers, almost as if he wanted to confirm to her that he was real until he pulled away.

From a couple of feet away, Sprite tearfully stared at the frozen celestial being in the ocean until she walked closer to us. "Is he gone?" She asked, sniffling.

Neither of us answer but our silence alone confirmed it for her, causing Sprite to wipe her tears with her sleeve.

"Sprite, I still have energy from the UniMind. I think I can make you human." Sersi explained, causing Sprite's eyes to widen slightly. "All the things you said you wanted, you can have them. But your time will be fleeting and you'll die one day. Are you ready for that?"

"I am."

Sersi holds out her hand for Sprite to grab and she places her hand on top of hers, watching as a bright glow trickled across into the back of Sprite's hand, granting her the wish.

TWO WEEKS LATER
LONDON

"The sudden appearance of an enormous stone figure in the Indian Ocean has left more questions than answers for authorities." I tiredly groan, reaching over to my nightstand and blindly look for the remote until I felt the device. "U.S. and Australian naval ships are maintaining defensive positions, but at this--"

I shut off the tv and toss the remote back on the nightstand with a sigh.

A body scooted closer to me, feeling her exposed legs graze mine. "Good morning my love." Her voice rasped against my ear. "what time is it?"

"Don't know, don't care." I mutter, pulling Sersi closer against my chest so I could properly wrap my arms around her and shut my eyes. "But good morning to you as well."

"Sprite leaves today with Kingo, remember?" I feel her shift in my hold, moving to lay on top of me. "Last night you told me that you wanted to see them off."

My eyes flutter open and see that she already had her eyes set on me with a warm smile. "Are you sure I said that? Maybe I was talking about something else and you're mixing up a different conversation." I teasingly tug at her t-shirt she borrowed from me.

Her cheeks flush in embarrassment before she slapped my arm. "You know what I mean, Ellie."

"Sorry, my brain isn't fully awake yet so I might say a thing or two that may be too forward." I joke, tucking some of the messy strands of hair behind her ear. "Also, I'm still getting used to this."

"Getting used to what?"

"The sight of you being in my arms." I awkwardly admit. "It's embarrassing to say but I've been dreaming of this for years."

"Really? You've been staying with me for over a week now." Sersi laughed. "Could've been longer but somebody decided to fly back to California first."

After the battle, I would've stuck with Sersi but I knew that I had to get back home to make sure nothing was out of order since I was gone for a long time which wasn't fair to my employees.

Surprisingly, Julian's daughter flew over with the rest of her family and before I could even try to come up with a lie why I had been gone for so long, she already knew the truth. Apparently before Julian passed, he explained the truth of how Julian and I met, including my backstory being an eternal. She didn't believe it until the news report in London came out and recognized me from one of the photos.

I initially thought they wanted to do a quick visit but she explained to me that her husband had some sort of huge promotion and since they wanted to help me out, they decided to move close by the bar.

As much as I insisted to sign the ownership rights to her, she declined and said that her father would've wanted me to still run the whole thing. And as a reward for...you know, saving the world, she's letting me take some time off.

"Hey, I had to make sure my bar didn't burn down!" I exclaim, earning a giggle from her as she nuzzled her nose against my cheek. "But now that I've got extra help, I can try to visit you as much as I can by using Kingo's private plane."

She slowly nods in which I make us sit up a bit better to get a clear look of her expression. "What?"

"You tell me. Are you still going to teach?"

She timidly picked at her fingers. "Not sure. This planet's my home, but...we can't pretend to be human anymore."

"Well no matter what you decide, I will always have your back. No matter how crazy it is." I grab onto her hands, giving them a comforting squeeze. "I...I love you, Sersi."

Her eyes soften into a look of adoration before she lifted our hands, pressing a kiss against my knuckles. "I love you too, Ellie. "

˙ ࿐ೃ˙ ࿐ೃ˙ ࿐ೃ˙ ࿐ೃ˙

Kingo and I place the last suitcase into the trunk with a sigh. "Okay, that's the last of it."

I look over to Sprite, seeing as she was tapping away on her iPhone.

With Sprite moving to live with Kingo again, Sersi still wanted to keep in touch with her so Kingo ended up buying her the device.

From there, just like any teenager, she rarely took her eyes off of it.

Sersi stepped out of the building as well, smiling as soon as she saw Sprite. "Told you that thing was addictive." Sprite looked up with a brow raised. "Please visit?"

Sprite scoffed. "I'll try...when I get time off from school."

"Oh, wow." Kingo sighed in annoyance at her tone. "Listen, it's gonna be good for you to be in a human environment."

"Maybe even make some new friends out of it." I add, wrapping my arm around Sersi's with a smile. "Or something more."

Sersi smiled at my words and pecked my cheek. "Maybe an adventure."

"Exactly! You'll pick up some social skills." Kingo snapped his fingers but Sprite rolled her eyes. "Oh, you didn't think you needed those? That explains so much." He muttered before he gestured for her to stand so he could take the suitcase from underneath.

Noticing Sprite's saddened expression, I pull away from Sersi and she didn't waste another second to pull her into a hug. "Gonna miss you."

"Me, too." She murmured, rubbing circles around her back.

Sprite steps away and pulled me into a hug next. "I'm sorry again. For everything."

"All's already forgiven, Sprite." I reassure. "Just promise you won't hesitate to call if you need something?"

"As long as you promise to keep Sersi happy and not with Dane."

"I've already waited this long." I snort, pulling away from her embrace. "I don't plan on letting her go soon."

"Good." She waved goodbye to us both before she walked towards the car with Karun quickly opening the door for her with a small smile.

"Sometimes I wonder if we did the right thing." Sersi breathed out and I turn to her with concern, seeing as she nervously picked at her fingers. "Killing Tiamut."

"It's too late for that." Kingo shrugged. "But you followed your heart."

I nodded. "I don't regret anything. We all did something right."

"Even Ikaris." Kingo quietly muttered, leaving the rest of us in silence.

˙ ࿐ೃ˙ ࿐ೃ˙ ࿐ೃ˙ ࿐ೃ˙

"Okay, okay. Try and guess this one." I laugh, plucking the white chocolate from the package filled with a variety. "And your hint is that it's not just chocolate...again."

"They literally almost all taste the same! I don't understand!" She exclaimed, reaching to untie the blindfold from her eyes.

I slap her hands away. "Hey, no cheating!"

"Can't we just enjoy the rest of our picnic stuffing our faces with chocolate while enjoying the park scenery?" Sersi whined. "The pasta was already to die for and I want to finish our date off with feeding each other sweets, not making me look ridiculous in public."

"Hey, I suggested we have our picnic on Tiamut's hand."

"Well I believe it wouldn't feel morally right to eat on a frozen celestial's hand that I caused. One of us in this relationship needs to be responsible."

Despite my heart soaring out of my chest at the word 'reletionship,' I keep it together with a smirk. "But wouldn't it have been cool to say that we had our first date on a celestial's hand? If the others didn't have to leave the planet to look for other eternals, Druig says that he would've explored it with Makkari. So..."  I wiggle my eyebrows. "We could've been the first ones there to spend time alone and have a killer view."

"Yeah? Tell that to the news choppers making the rounds every hour." She snorted before she blindly searched for my hand, placing it over mine. "Besides if we wanted to be alone, all we would need to do is go straight to my apartment."

I suggestively raise a brow. "Am I dreaming, or is Sersi, the awkward and clumsy woman, subtly trying to get me back to her apartment? On our first date?"

"Maybe I just don't want to look ridiculous in public..." She playfully smiled. "but is it working?"

"Not in the slightest because the thing is, my love, you could never look ridiculous in my eyes." I emphasize with a grin. "Besides, who needs scenery when seeing you is enough?

Her cheeks flush. "I want to kiss you but I can't see where you are and I don't want to look even more ridiculous."

"That, I can assist you with." I hum, leaning over and peck her lips. "But just one more guess! It's one of my favorites."

Before she could protest, the rings from my phone cause me to sigh. Sersi moved the blindfold and her eyes widen in realization, seeing the white chocolate in my hands. "I was going to guess that next!"

"Sure you were, babe." I chuckle, feeding her the piece before I wiped my hands with the napkin.

"I was! I swear!"

I reach for my phone, seeing the incoming FaceTime call from Dane and click answer. "Dane, you're sort of interrupting something important."

"Oh gee, not even a hello to your best friend?" He sarcastically remarked. "After not seeing you for three weeks! Excuse me, maybe I should write my name in the list of important things you have to take care of. Did you finish saving the world because last time we talked, the connection coincidentally broke off right after I wanted to dive in to an important topic."

I snap my fingers. "Right, forgot to update you on that. We were ambushed, lost a dear good friend of mine, learned even more not-so-good news, almost died, but we lived by connecting with one another to a UniMind to give our power to Sersi and saved the world!"

He blankly stared once I finished my explanation."I see....so what exactly is this important thing I'm interrupting?"

Sersi scooted closer to me and leaned her head on my shoulder, giving a clear view for Dane to see. "Hello Dane."

His eyes widen in surprise. "O-Oh! Sersi, hi! You look well! I mean—not that I doubted you wouldn't look well but after what Eleanor—I mean, Elyus said I assumed..." He rambled on until he immediately shook his head. "I'm rambling, excuse me. What I meant to say is that I see you two have patched things up after all?"

"Yeah, I hope you've been doing okay as well! And for us," Sersi and I share a look, unable to fight the smiles to appear on our faces. "Yeah. I guess you could say that."

"And after all that, you still can't change me into a giraffe?"

I prop my phone at a better angle so that it gave a better view for Dane to see Sersi and I. "Well, I could next time I'm connected to a Celestial during an emergence whilst performing a UniMind." Sersi shrugged.

"Yeah. That sounds like a "no" to me."

"Is that what you called for? Because again, Sersi and I were doing something important that involves comparing which American chocolate is better." I say, lifting the box for him to see some of the unwrapped candies.

"No...it's sort of important." Dane awkwardly cleared his throat. "Remember when we talked about no more secrets?"

I nod. "Yeah, of course. I'm—well, we are pretty much an open book at this point." I say, gesturing to Sersi who nodded in agreement.

"Actually, I have one I want to tell you." Dane muttered. "It turns out my family history is...complicated."

"Complicated how?"

Suddenly, a thrumming in my chest causes me to gasp as I felt myself abruptly look to the skies.

"Eleanor, what's wrong?" I hear Dane worriedly ask but the sounds of thunder rumbling in the sky causes his expression to falter. "Eleanor?"

In the corner of my eyes, I could see Sersi's panicked expression as well since she sensed what I was feeling.

From what was previously a beautiful sunny day, the clouds suddenly appeared into an ominous darkened sky with six circles of light shining through.

Patches of electricity loudly crackled in the dark-grey clouds until it suddenly separated, creating a shockwave of dust to knock the civilians that were in the park to the ground but forcing Sersi and I to stand to our feet.

Once the clouds separated, it revealed the figure I recognized from the Domo. The celestial being that I, along with the rest of the eternals were dreading to meet.

"Eleanor, what's going on?" Dane practically yelled into the phone. "Sersi? Can you hear me?"

Three cosmic golden rings appeared around my body and before I knew it, I was flown past the atmosphere and into outer-space, hearing Dane's cries become faint in a matter of milliseconds.

With incredible speed, I felt my heart drop at the sight of the large Celestial as the rings flew us to float over Arishem's large maroon hand.

From the corner's of my eyes, I realized that Sersi and I weren't the only ones taken. Next to Sersi, Phastos floated beside her and Kingo was beside me with a panicked look on his face.

Oh no, Sprite.

"You have chosen to sacrifice a Celestial for the people of this planet." Arishem's voice echoed around us. "I will spare them, but your memories will show if they are worthy to live."

I wanted to call Sersi's name but I couldn't even move or utter anything. It was like being a puppet to Arishem's strings where I had no control over my form.

All I could do is look in the corner of my eyes, seeing that her Sersi's sadly met mine.

"And I will return for judgment."

As soon as those words echoed in my thoughts, a white light glazes over my eyes and I felt all of my senses diminish, sending me into the darkness.
