"He looks so stupid." Yoongi groaned annoyed looking at Jimin from across the gym.
"What's your obsession with him?" Namjoon wondered as he looked at the girls walking around in shorts.
"It's not an obsession. I'm just annoyed by him. I did mention he walked in on Nayeon and I having sex, right? He has no respect for privacy or boundaries. Not to mention I hadn't had a roommate in so long and now I have to share my space with that weirdo?"
Yoongi turned to look at Namjoon who hadn't even paid him no mind. He was too busy drooling over the girls and giving them smiles to acknowledge what was being said.
"Hey! Hey! Min Yoongi!" Jimin excitedly said running towards him.
"Oh my fuck." Yoongi said with a frown.
"Here comes your bestie. I'll be over there talking to some girls." Namjoon quickly said walking away.
"Namjoon-!"
"Hi! I don't think we've introduced ourselves properly. I'm Park Jimin! Your roommate!"
"No shit."
"Hey, I know we didn't start off on a good note, but—"
"Why're you talking to me?"
"I just want to say hey! I don't know, maybe we can be friends? We can walk to class in the—"
Before Jimin could finish Yoongi walked by harshly shoving him with his shoulder. Jimin stumbled but smiled brightly.
"Okay! Bye! I'll-I'll talk to you later."
"What did he want?" Namjoon asked as soon as Yoongi walked towards his direction
"He wants us to be friends. What a moron."
Namjoon looked at the younger boy who was a few feet away. He was tracing the patterns on the gym floor with his shoes.
He was wearing obnoxiously yellow shorts, an oversized black T-shirt that was tucked in, bright yellow socks with white chunky sneakers.
Namjoon smiled when Jimin caught him staring and he waved happily to the taller. "Stop smiling. He's going to want to talk to you now."
"He's kind of cute."
"What the fuck?"
"Yeah. Like a 'I-want-to-adopt-you' cute."
"I'm done talking to you."
"Class! Gather up!" The gym coach screamed.
The whole class gathered around the middle. Jimin was pushed to the back since everyone kept going by him ignoring his presence.
"Since today is Friday you get a free day. This does not mean you get to sit around and be lazy. I want you to be up and moving until class is finished." He blowed his whistle and they started to get to their activities.
Since Jimin didn't know anyone here besides Yoongi, he grabbed a jumping jack rope and got on the sidelines away from everyone.
He was too busy jumping and having fun to notice Yoongi looking at him from the basketball court.
"I think we should add one more player." He smirked.
"No way." Lay scoffed crossing his arms over his chest.
"Yeah. I think he will want to play." Yoongi said walking to him.
"He's not serious is he?" Hoshi whispered to Namjoon.
"He's doing it to bother him." Namjoon admitted.
"Hey!"
Jimin gasped and stopped jumping whenever he heard Yoongi's loud voice. "H-hi." He smiled grabbing the rope on one hand.
"Want to play basketball with us?"
"You-you want me to play?"
"Yeah."
"I-I don't know how to." He whispered shyly.
Yoongi rolled his eyes turning around, "Fine. I was trying to be nice but—"
"No, no! I'm sorry. I'll play if you tell me how."
He smiled freezing his walk and turning back to him. "Okay. Let's go."
Jimin nodded his head putting his jumping rope to the side and following him behind. He couldn't help to smile happily.
Maybe, Yoongi wasn't too bad after all.
"This is..." he turned to look at Jimin to finish his sentence. If he was honest he had already forgotten his name.
"Jimin. Park Jimin. Hello everyone!"
The crowd of boys looked at him with a blank state. Jimin slowly stopped smiling feeling himself get flustered.
"He's going to play with us."
The boys got in the spot waiting for the game to start. Jimin awkwardly stood at the very end of the court confused at what was happening.
The game suddenly started and he remained in the back watching the players and how the moved.
He wasn't the athletic type.
In fact, he was more of the reading-a-poetry book-and-remaining-unnoticed type. At one point he spotted a black haired guy running so he ran behind him trying to keep up with what was happening.
"Hey!" A guy screamed throwing the ball to Jimin. He caught it in his hands and stood frozen.
Suddenly, someone shoved him so hard he fell back and slid his hands across the gym floor. The breath was knocked out of him and he coughed trying to bring the air back to his lungs.
He looked at his blustery red hands from the burn the floor had given them. When he turned his head he spotted Yoongi with the ball making it in the net.
He grinned happily getting a few high fives from the guys. Jimin slowly sat up his coccyx hurting from the fall.
His breathing was still pretty uneven and he even felt nauseous. The impact was pretty hard on his stomach.
Jimin suddenly wished he would've remained jumping on the sidelines. The group of guys looked at him who was still on the floor.
His face was bright red from embarrassment. "Aren't you going to get up? It's just a small shove." Yoongi teased.
"I..."
"What a pussy. Did that hurt?" A brown haired guy asked.
"Uh..."
"Aren't you a man? Can't you take it?" Another spoke.
Jimin swallowed the lump on his throat. He closed his eyes for a brief second trying to compose himself.
He wasn't going to cry in front of them. He couldn't. "Okay, I think that's enough." Namjoon said.
"Enough? He's a wimp that needs to take the hit." Yoongi said.
"That's not even how you play basketball." Namjoon replied.
"This is our basketball game with our rules."
"Get up wimp." A boy called out.
Jimin then opened his eyes and slowly got up a pain spreading through his back. He smiled at the crowd as best as he could.
"Well, thank you for inviting me to play. I-I don't think I'm that good at it. I tried to keep up, but just couldn't. I think I'll let you guys continue to play. All I'm doing is taking up space. Sorry."
He bowed to excuse himself and quickly walked away from them. Most of the guys were laughing and whispering things behind his back.
Yoongi's face turned red as he tried to go after, Jimin. Namjoon stopped him by holding his arm.
"I think that's enough."
"What's your problem? We always do this shit to others. Why is he the exception?" He asked pulling away harshly.
"Because he hasn't done anything to you. We only do this to assholes not to kids that can't defend themselves. If you wanted to get him back for walking in on you I think it's good enough."
Yoongi rolled his tongue furiously. "You're starting to sound like, Taehyung." He simply said and went back to playing.
Namjoon turned to look at Jimin who was back in the corner. He no longer was jumping. He was simply sitting on the floor doing stretches. His back was to the crowd so they couldn't see his face.
Jimin's lip was quivering and he had to remind himself to breathe. He looked at his red achy palms and his eyes flooded with tears.
Why didn't they like him?
Why was it so hard for him to be liked?
