I know, it's not fair. But the people you associate with will become who you are...or, at least, who people think you are. And you probably don't want people to think you're a drug dealer or a murderer. So don't spend copious amounts of time with people like that. Wouldn't you rather have people think you are an avid reader and bookworm? A student with good grades and work ethic? Of course.

But wait! Jesus hung out with thieves and prostitutes...yes, and Jesus got CRUCIFIED. Even God couldn't get away with it, so what makes you think you can?

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure there are many, many wonderful people who are thieves and prostitutes. They were really nice to Jesus. They took care of his body after he died. They cried over his dead body. I believe every person has a side to them that is good.

But if you want to get a job that offers you the financial ability to, say, laser you leg hair, you probably want to hang out with people who will help you get there.

Think about it. Misery loves company. Have you ever been standing with a smoker who didn't offer you a drag of their cigarette? They always offer. That's because they want you to start smoking so that they don't have to suffer alone with their addiction. Same goes with someone smoking weed. They'll always offer you a toke. To be polite? Maybe. But also to drag you down with them.

My Advice: Keep your nose clean. The easiest way to do that is to hang out with other people who keep their nose clean.
