Shaving Your Legs (and everything else)
Shaving your legs sucks. I hate doing it. I'm old now, so I don't even shave in the winter unless I think they might get exposed for some weird reason. I know I am not alone. Of course, I live in Canada, where there is no reason why someone will see my legs in the winter. Haha. It's about the only advantage to living in the freezing cold over the tropics. Take that, if you're sitting in the heat right now!
The first step to any kind of hair removal is to soften things up. So, like, have a bath or a long hot shower. Remove hair at the end of your water activity. Water will soften the hair and the skin. For some reason, this works. Do it. If you want razor burn or extreme, agonizing pain while waxing, don't follow this advice. Pain does build character after all.
If you're going to shave, use conditioner instead of shaving cream. Squirt a good amount of conditioner onto your legs and rub it in. Then shave in nice short strokes. I used to get razor burn (which totally, totally sucked), but when I started using conditioner, it got a lot better. Even so, shaving your legs is sort of like hacking away at the rainforest while the shrubs grown up behind you. It just doesn't last very long.
I say wax those suckers. It's worth it. And you can wax them yourself and save a bundle of cash. Even if you just do your shins and then shave the back of your leg. Let's face it, the front of your leg is where hair is the thickest. Waxing lasts longer and the hair will be softer.
You can wax your own bikini line, too. It's not as fun as waxing your legs though. Leg waxing does not involve rolling around on your bed or bathroom floor while you wait for the throbbing torment to subside. The same cannot be said for the bikini area, I'm afraid.
My Advice: Waxing over shaving...and, actually, laser over waxing. But lasering is really expensive, so you better get a good job!
