Self Harm
"Self-harm, also known as deliberate self-harm, self-injury, self-mutilation, or more method-specific terms like cutting or burning, is the act of purposely causing physical harm to oneself. It usually happens without the intent to die - that is, not as a suicide attempt, and is classified by the Statistical and Diagnostic Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5) as nonsuicidal self-injury disorder (NSSID)." - Crisistextline.org
Most people use self-harm as a method of becoming numb and feeling pain to get a release of dopamine. I once self-harmed, but since then I have stopped. Here are some tips for people to either help someone stop self-harm or help themselves.
1. Ice Cubes.
Yes, it sounds dumb, but it really helped me! It's for people who like to see the blood when they cut, and it also gives some feeling of pain (the coldness of the ice.)
Here's how to do it:
1. Put water in ice cube containers.
2. Add couple of red food dye droplets to it.
3. Freeze it overnight.
4. Use when you want to cut.
2. Talk about your feelings :|
Pretty self-explanatory.
