Anxiety Attacks- for a bystander
Anxiety attacks are very scary- for both the person experiencing them and people watching. Most people don't know what to do. So here are some tips.
1. Ask if they are okay with being touched. Most people don't understand what's happening, and that can be a problem. If you touch them without permission, this could lead them to be more afraid or anxious.
2. Guide them with breathing techniques. This may seems cliche, but this can really help them!
3. Reassure them. This may seem completely unnecessary, but when people have these, it makes them feel as if they are alone.
