Chapter 34 - Analise
Chapter 34 - Analise
I woke up groggy and confused, slowly blinking away the darkness that had settled in my eyesight. I tried moving my arms and legs to no avail, and I looked down confusedly before the reality hit me like a ton of bricks; I was abducted on Thanksgiving by Nev and a bunch of randoms.
I thrashed around, trying to get out of the bounds he had me in but they wouldn't budge. I realized it was rope they had me bound by and I was on a cold hard cement ground. Looking around for anything that I could use to free myself, I realized I was the only thing in this room. I'd never seen it before, obviously, but there wasn't even any windows.
"You're up, good," a voice called and I looked towards the stairs that led to god knows where that Nev was currently descending. I narrowed my eyes at him, shaking my head. "What? Not impressed?"
"Let me go you son of a bitch," I growled, scowling up at him.
"Can't do that, Annie," Nev murmured with a smirk on his ugly face. My eyes widened at the nickname and I took note to how his greasy black hair was slicked back out of his face and his hazel eyes showed mischief.
"Don't call me that," I snapped. "How do you even know about that? You guys stalk girls now?"
"Not exactly," a second voice called and I followed it to see Buck jogging down the steps, followed by a couple more people.
"You're a coward, Buck," I murmured. "Roger would be disappointed."
"Roger was a pussy," Buck mumbled hastily with a dismissive wave of his hand. "He was too pussy to take territory, and he'd surely be too pussy to kill a teenager. Fortunately for you, I'm not," he informed me with a sadistic grin.
"You're sick. How do you know about my nickname?"
"I told them," a voice called, and my eyes widened at the familiarity of it. It couldn't be them... There's no way. I know they don't like me, but there's no way they'd actively participate in my death. And this is a gang, not high school; how would they be involved? "Don't look so shocked, Annie," they said again, coming from the shadow of the stairs and I couldn't believe my eyes.
Ashlynn Collins.
"What the fuck?"
She shrugged, examining her manicured nails before smirking up at me. "Did you really think I knew all about you for no reason? I do my research, I'm not an idiot; but I did it mostly for my brother."
"Your brother?" I emphasized.
She nodded, smiling widely. "Buck!"
"You guys are siblings?" I spluttered, my eyes wide as saucers. Fear ran through me as I examined the two, who looked so much different from each other. If it was just Buck and his crew, okay, cool; whatever. But with Ashlynn involved I knew they'd be much more informed about everything about me. "You have different last names!"
"Half siblings," Ashlynn explained in a bored tone, glancing over at Buck. "Different moms. Like your own parents, our dad was in this gang, and Buck took over from Roger who should have never been given the chance to run it."
"It should have been me," Buck yelled, clenching his fists angrily. "Anyway, I'm sure you'd like an explanation."
I nodded. "That'd be nice, yeah."
He smiled evilly, sauntering towards me slowly. "Well, originally we weren't going to come after you. We were just going to take our territory that rightfully belonged to us-" I scoffed, interrupting him and earning a glare. "And be done with it. I took over from Roger who was too pussy to do anything productive in this town. My dad only handed the reigns to him because he promised change my dad couldn't do because of illness, which is none of your business."
I shrugged. "I didn't ask."
"Anyway," Ashlynn narrowed her eyes at me, flipping her hair over her shoulder. "I haven't liked you for a long time, you know this. But when I found out your brother, what was his name? The cute one- Anderson?"
"Andrew," Buck corrected her.
"Andrew!" She exclaimed, snapping her fingers. "He's a cutie. Shame he's too old for me, I'd definitely make a move to comfort him after you're dead. Anyway," Ashlynn paused for affect. "I hated you even more after finding out you had a brother in the enemy gang. Then I joined forces with my boyfriend-"
"Who's your boyfriend?" I blurted, interrupting her which was obviously a mistake because she slapped me hard.
"Stop interrupting!" She yelled and it took everything in me to bite the inside of my cheek and not flip shit at the stinging in my cheek from her slap. "God it felt good to hit you while you can't fight back. I'll be doing that often before we kill you."
"Anyway," she started again, glowering at me, daring me to interrupt her. I almost did, just to spite her, but my curiosity stopped the words in my throat. "He wasn't my boyfriend when I asked him to help me, he was your best friend."
My eyes widened in pure shock as Tommy slowly descended the stairs, a guilty look on his face. I shook my head in disappointment at him and he avoided my gaze by staring at Ashlynn's back. "Yeah, I got him to join your brothers stupid gang to help me, under the rouse that maybe you'd notice his unrequited love and reciprocate it; but really, he was just helping me out, getting me more information."
"You never returned his feelings, as I guessed, because your head's so far up your ass you probably don't know about anyone's feelings for you - oh, except for William," she teased spitefully, and I immediately started thrashing at the mention of his name. "Oh, soft spot?"
"Leave him out of this," I spat, literally spitting in her face which was about an inch from mine at this point. Wrong move; she punched me this time and I fell backwards, hitting my head on the floor hard. I winced at the pain shooting through my skull, ignoring Tommy calling my name. Traitor.
"I may just comfort him once your dead," she mused, glancing at Tommy to see him glaring at her. "Seeing as Tommy here knows my plans. He was pissed at first, don't get me wrong but then you started hanging out with William and suddenly he was on board again."
"I didn't know you'd kidnap her," Tommy muttered, kicking his shoe against the ground.
"You knew enough, and still went along with it," Ashlynn pointed out, shrugging her shoulders. "You were our best asset. It really is your friends that don't have your back, you know?"
Raelynn sauntered down the steps, followed by a sulking Colin, and my eyes widened even more. Traitors. "These two knew about your kidnapping. Guess you really leave a bad impression on people, Annie."
Colin looked sorrowful, and instantly I could tell he was dragged into coming. Colin, out of all of them, would never purposely do anything that would hurt me; that much I knew. But, still he was a boy in love, and he was so naive Raelynn could probably convince him to pull the trigger on someone himself.
Raelynn smirked, coming to stand next to her new BFF and gave me a slap herself. "Wow, you were right Ash, that really does feel good."
"It only feels good to you psychos because you can't normally take me, even if you were fighting me together," I bravely murmured, shrugging my shoulders. That earned me a punch from each girl, and I spat on the ground as the metallic taste of blood filled my mouth. "Truth hurts, doesn't it?"
"We're both better at fighting than you," Raelynn hissed, pulling my hair and aiming my face up at hers. "You and I both know that."
"Really? Because I recall befriending you after you were crying alone in a bathroom stall because of your new best friend. The same one you bad mouthed with me just a couple months ago."
"You little bitch," Raelynn growled, pulling my hair. I ignored the stinging and tried maneuvering my head with the hair to lessen the pain, but to no avail; Ashlynn was holding my head in place with her freezing cold hands. They truly made the perfect evil pair, and I wondered how I'd ever been friends with Raelynn if this was her true character.
"Haven't you guys roughed her up enough?" Colin asked softly, and Tommy nodded his agreement. "I mean, I think she gets the point, her brother's probably worried; I think you guys got the point across.
"Not nearly enough," Ashlynn informed him before kicking me in the face. I saw stars briefly, and closed my eyes to get the dizziness to settle.
"So Colin, Tommy, and Raelynn are in your gang too?" I queried.
Buck shook his head. "Tommy is, he was in both," he smirked. "But truthfully, just ours. This Colin kid came with Raelynn, and she wasn't in our gang until a couple weeks ago."
"But-" I was cut off by another kick to the face, this time from Raelynn's combat boot clad foot and I stopped talking as she demanded I shut up. Not that I wanted to listen, but getting kicked in the mouth wasn't the best feeling in the world.
"Alright girls," Nev called, motioning for them to back off. "You'll get your fun. For now, let the big boys handle things."
"Big boys?" I scoffed out a bitter laugh. "You're a bunch of cowards, all of you. You wanna kill me? Kill me."
"Oh, we will," Buck told me with a small nod. "But we want your brother to suffer before we do, like Nev did when the Southsiders," he murmured my gangs name with disgust dripping off the word. "Took Cara."
"Well, the Northsiders," I let the same amount of disgust drip from my tone. "Deserved it for moving in on our territory. And unlike you guys, we don't hurt or kill people for fun; so we never laid a finger on her. We took her, got what we wanted, and let her go."
Nev shrugged. "And this is our revenge. And maybe we wouldn't have killed you, but you're a little bitch with a big mouth."
"Thank you," I mumbled sarcastically, spitting out the fresh blood in my mouth. "That means a lot coming from the likes of you, really."
"We can't just kill you," Buck told me, shaking his head. "Hell, you've been out two days, let us have our fun before we finish you."
My eyes widened on their own accord - which hurt but I dealt with it, as he said that. Two days? Drew was probably out of his mind with worry, and Will probably was too. I could see their worried faces in my head and traitorous tears sprung to my eyes at the image. "What the hell did you give me to get me out for two days?"
"A sedative," Ashlynn informed me, smirking that evil smirked I wanted to wipe right off her face. "Nev told us the little spat you guys had when he came to pick you up, so they had to get you sedated somehow. Who knew you could take on six guys?"
"You guys did!" I yelled, landing my eyes on each and every person in the room. "You guys all knew! Obviously you did your research, and I've kicked your asses more than once, Raelynn and Ashlynn."
Ignoring me, Ashlynn's smirk widened, if that were possible. "Wanna know something else funny?"
I rolled my eyes, spitting out the fresh blood. "Not really, but I'm sure you'll tell me anyway."
"We know who killed your parents."
