Bonus Chapter - Analise
"Annie, I'm home!"
I glanced up at my husband, an annoyed look crossing my features as I noticed his empty hands. His eyes held confusion as he took in my face and he furrowed his brows. "What did I do now?"
"I told you to pick up two pints of ice cream after work. God, why do I ask for anything?"
"Relax," he murmured, placing a chaste kiss on my lips before taking the seat on the couch next to me. "I'll get the ice cream. I've had a long day. Some of us don't get nine months plus two off of work."
I rolled my eyes, shaking my head and crossing my arms. "Oh, I'm so sorry I can't fly a plane pregnant you inconsiderate-"
"Damn hormones," Will grumbled, standing back up and grabbing his keys off the counter.
"More chores?" Drew asked as he approached the living room from the guest room. Drew and Alisha were married now, and Bella was ten, but the three of them were visiting for the birth of the baby who was supposed to be here three days ago. He was also pressing my patience, just like my husband. We were housing all of our friends and family currently, waiting on the baby that didn't want to come and it was getting overwhelming. I just wanted it out.
"Don't I always get more chores?" Will asked rhetorically with fake enthusiasm, coming to place a kiss on my lips. I put my hand out, effectively blocking his lips and earning a scoff from him. "Really?"
I shrugged. "Don't trash talk me then expect me to kiss you."
I felt tears well up in my eyes at the thought of Will trash talking me. He'd been the sweetest husband I could ever ask for, but sometimes he failed to realize I had feelings and acted as if the pregnancy was a problem. "I'm sorry I'm such a problem for you."
"No baby, I didn't mean it like that," Will said quickly, taking a seat beside me and wrapping his arm around me. He kissed the top of my head, shaking his head softly. "I'm sorry Annie, I just had a long day at work. Two car chases, a shoot out, and two stacks of paperwork from DUI's."
My eyes widened a fraction and I hastily wiped my tears. "Well, why didn't you just say that? Why so much in one day?"
He shrugged. "It's the fourth of July, of course it's crazy."
Will had taken the fourth of July surprisingly well for the last six years. Of course during fireworks he always got a bit choked up, but I did my best to distract him as best I could. And now, his child was going to be born near fourth of july, and with any luck, on the fourth of July. I really needed this baby out. The thought brought tears to my eyes once more, and I let them free with a quiet sob.
"Baby, what's wrong?"
"Nothing Rando," I mumbled, wiping my tears to make room for the fresh ones. I didn't call him Rando as much as I did before, since he wasn't random anymore, but it stuck so well I couldn't completely let it go. So every once in a while for old times sake I would call him it, and it usually made him happy; but I guess that was next to impossible with his wife so freely crying next to him.
"What. Is. Wrong?"
"What isn't wrong with her?" Drew asked, shaking his head and earning a hit to the chest from Will.
"I'm a bad mother," I sobbed, shaking with my cries as I cried into my hands. "I want the baby out so bad I can't even enjoy pregnancy, I'm such a bad mother."
"You're a great mother Annie, I promise."
"Don't lie to her, Will. You're pretty terrible Lise," Drew joked, making me cry harder before he chuckled and retracted it. "God, I'm kidding. So sensitive."
"Like you aren't going through this with Alisha," Will commented, rolling his eyes.
Drew shrugged, hopping onto the couch and opening his can of soda. "She's not due for another four months, so no. We haven't really hit the emotional stage yet."
I stood up to get away; whether from my thoughts or my idiotic brother, I'm not sure. But just as I got to the entrance to the stairs, Justin jogged down them, practically knocking me down in the process. He caught me in the nick of time, but it was enough to freak Will out and he ran over, pulling me into his chest and smacking Justin over the head with the back of his hand and a prominent scowl. "Watch where you're going!"
"I didn't see her!" Justin defended, frowning. "I'm sorry Ana."
"That's why you don't text and walk," Will exclaimed, shaking his head and cradling me gently. I felt a pressure down below and looked down to see water coming out. My eyes opened wide and I looked at Will who looked downright pissed. "Look what you did Justin!"
"I made her... pee?"
"No, you made her water break!"
"No I didn't."
"Yes you did!"
"But I-"
I threw my arms around Justin, squeezing his neck. I pulled away, kissing his cheek and causing a light blush to spread across his cheeks while Will glowered at the kiss. "I don't know if you did, but if you did, thank you!" I kissed his other cheek, causing the blush to spread before pulling away.
Mallory peeked out from the top of the stairs, raising an eyebrow and laughing lightly. "Did you just kiss my fiance?"
Yes, Mallory and Toby had broken up and she was now engaged to be married to Justin. Toby and Mallory broke up in their first year of college but remained good friends and eventually Toby moved on. It took longer for Mallory to move on, but when she was finally able to open up her heart, Justin was right there attempting to steal it. Apparently it worked, because they'd been engaged for four months and their wedding was scheduled for the beginning of next year.
"I did!" I exclaimed proudly, beaming brightly.
"And you're okay with that?" Will shouted, his arms up in the year. Will was always just a bit defensive, like I'd ever leave him - he was perfect for me, even if alone he was pretty imperfect. So was I.
Mallory shrugged, coming and resting her head on Justin's shoulder. "Yeah, it's not like Ana's going to seduce him or something. She's pregnant with your kid for god sakes Will, trust her a bit more than that."
"Not to interrupt this debate," Drew mumbled, staring wide eyed at all of us. "But, uh, shouldn't we get Lise to the hospital?"
"Oh, right! Come on Annie!" Will exclaimed, running out of the house and practically throwing himself into the van we'd rented to fit everyone. I walked out slowly after grabbing the pre packed hospital bag for me, Will and the baby. When I looked up from the ground, however, I frowned at the absence of the van. I'd just seen it...
As if someone up above was answering my questions, suddenly Will pulled up to the curb with a sheepish smile, rubbing the back of his head nervously. "I kind of got so excited I forgot you weren't in the car."
I stared straight into those blue eyes that were the center of my dreams for more than six years, narrowing my eyes. "I'm going to kill you."
*
"Push!"
"I am pushing!"
"Come on Analise, push!"
"God damn it doctor Russo if you tell me what to do one more time I'll-"
"Annie, relax," Will mumbled, kissing my sweaty forehead and wiping it with the back of his hand. "Relax, breathe, the baby's almost out."
"This bitch is demanding I do something I'm already doing and you expect me to relax?"
"Mrs. Gryer, I realize this is a hard time, but please refrain from calling me a bitch. I'm simply trying to help."
I glowered at her, swiping a wisp of sweaty brown hair out of my face that'd slipped out of my sloppy ponytail. Then I plastered on a sardonic smile - presumably for her benefit, but mostly for mine. I was mocking her at this point. "Don't be a bitch and I won't call you one, okay?"
"Mrs. Gryer-"
"Ow!" I exclaimed as another contraction hit me, cradling my stomach. "Get this thing out of me or the next thing I grab will be your hair, doctor!"
"Analise-"
"I mean it!"
"Okay, okay, on the count of ten, okay? One-"
"Ten!" I screamed, doing it for her since she hardly knew how to do her job, apparently. "Push!" At my own command I started pushing as hard as I could, growing frustrated. I felt like a weight was lifted off my shoulders as I felt the baby leave my body and sighed a breath of relief. The people around me were laughing at my attitude, but I was just glad to be able to breathe again.
"It's a girl!" Doctor Russo exclaimed happily, making sure to spare me a glare before returning to her happy expression. Don't worry doctor, I didn't miss it and I'd be making a nice call to the board of directors because of it.
She placed my daughter on my chest and I sighed happily staring down at the baby in my arms. She was beautiful to me, but of course I was partial because of being her mom. The doctor excused herself momentarily, letting my family and friends in while Will stared down at our daughter. He kissed her head gently before leaving a lingering kiss on my lips.
"I'm so proud of you, baby," Will told me honestly, a proud smile on his face. "Nice job."
"Thanks," I murmured with a smile. "I did all the work."
The door opening caught my attention and I grinned at Justin, Mallory, Drew, Alisha and Bella bounding in. Will's mom was back in Chicago doing a mandatory case, but promised to visit sometime soon to meet her first granddaughter. And honestly, if every other doctor was like Doctor Russo, only granddaughter.
Justin was the first to speak up, staring down at our daughter with a frown. "She kind of looks like an alien."
Mallory hit his chest, scoffing. "Shut up Jus, she's beautiful."
"I'm an uncle!" Drew exclaimed happily.
"And I'm an aunt," Alisha added, smiling at us and holding her own belly. They hadn't found out the gender either; I guess we were a family full of surprises.
"What are you naming her?" Bella asked, staring down at the baby in my arms.
I glanced up at Will and he nodded, telling me to go ahead and be the one to announce it. We'd already discussed baby names and absolutely knew what we were naming her. "Gabriella Leanne Gryer."
A wide smile adorned Drew's face, seemingly because he was the only one to catch the meaning. "Leanne for mom?"
I nodded, mirroring his smile and cradling my baby girl close to my chest. Will's arms were around us both, and I couldn't have been happier. "For mom."
"Hey Ana," Justin stated after a couple moments of silence. "I'm still-"
"Available?" I offered, earning a nod and a grin from Justin. I laughed, shaking my head and returning his grin. "And I'm still not interested, Justin."
A/N: Just a fun bonus chapter!! The sequel will be based around Gabriella, so look out for that ;)
