Third Persons POV

Scratch and Grounder are pullingba cart filled with various items they and Robotnik stole from the citizens of Mobius, Robotnik was sitting atop the pile wearing an inner tube and holding boombox in both his hands.

"Tyranny, conquest, dictatorship.... get boring. Sometimes, I just get a craving for old-fashioned theft!" Robotnik said "Well, bwahaha! We sure cleaned out that village, your scumminess!" Scratch said "Yeah, we stole a lot of swell loot!" Grounder said and Robotnik sees they got a shoe and alarm clock "Ah! You dumbots! All you got is worthless junk!" Robotnik said as Sonic and Brody, disguised as hillbillies and holding a bindle walk out behind a tree and the two tricked Robotnik into trading what he stole for their bindle with gold and the tree run away afterward.

Tails then walks up to Sonic and Brody "Great work, Sonic and Brody! I didn't think he was gonna fall for it!" Tails said as Sonic and Brody take their disguises off "Just took advantage of his greed!" Brody said and Sonic runs to the cart "Come on guys! Let's return this stuff to its rightful owners!" Sonic said and the three get to it.

*At Robotnik's Fortress*

"I really pulled one over on those dudes!" Robotnik said "This sack of gold can finance a whole army of robot soldiers to trample Mobius into submission!" He said "You're my hero, Dr. Robotnik, sir! You're rotten to the core! Bwhaha!" Scratch said "Thank you, and to show how much I appreciate you two numbskulls, I'm going to give you a tip!" Robotnik said "Wow! Ahaha! Great!" Scratch said "The tips is 'alwayd buy new shoes in the afternoon, after your feet have expanded' " Robotnik said "Anyways, I bet this nugget alone is worth..." he said and sniffs the piece of gold "Mmm, strange. Smells like.... chili beans!" He said and takes a bite realizing it was chili beans coated in gold paint "It is chili beans! Stale chili beans! Covered with gold paint!" Robotnik said and realizes Sonic and Brody tricked him "If it's the last thing I do, I'm gonna get even with those scheme-stopping, spine-headed hedgehog and fur-headed wolf!" Robotnik said.

*Later*

"Aren't they the most peaceful, pleasant, harmless couple of old folks you ever saw?" Robotnik asks referring to the Elderly goat couple sitting on the porch of the house "Couldn't harm a fly!" Scratch said "That's why we're gonna attack them! Hahahaha!" Robotnik said using his Egg-O-Artillery attack tank and said to shoot the end of the canyon as the only way to the canyon was booby-trapped "Fire!" Robotnik said and Scratch and Grounder fire at the canyon causing an avalanche causing the goat couole to scream.

*Meanwhile*

Sonic and Brody are standing near a finish line with Brody holding a stopwatch he was looking at "Good going Tails! Lift those knees!" Sonic said to Tails who was wearing a red headbanf and a green pair of shorts runs through rhe finish line and Brody looks at the stopwatch.

"Hey, you knocked a second off your last time!" Brody said as Tails panting heavily holding his stomach and walks up to the duo "Am I ever gonna be as fast as you two?" Tails asks and Sonic and Brody put their arms around Tails "Maybe, maybe not, kid but give it your best shot, cause if you try your hardest, whether you end up the best or not, you're a hero!" Sonic said "One more lap now, and you can use your tails this time" Brody said "Sonic! Brody!" The trio heard the elder goat couple scream "Practice is cancelled, kid! This for real!" Sonic said as he and Brody run away "Sonic! Brody! Wait up!" Tails said following them.

Sonic and Brody arrive as they jump onto the matttres pushing it back towards the spider web managig to break it and they use the matress to catch the avalanche and they launch it aside. "You can look now" Sonic said to the couple "It's safe!" Brody said "Sonic! Brody! You saved us!" The couple said "Hey, if we thought you were in any real danger, we would have rushed!" Sonic said "I-It's not fair! That hedgehog and wolf are too fast!" Robotnik said "Don't worry. I'll blast another round!" Grounder said and before Robotnik could stop him the badnik fire a missile that bounces off the mattress hitting the tank makong it explide.

Meanwhile Tails pants heavily running up to Sonic and Brody "I'm here Sonic and Brody! Can I help with the rescue?" Tails asks and Brody puts his hands on Tails' shoulders "Sorry, kiddo! Sure could have used your help, but everything's okay now!" Brody said smiling and Tails kicks a pebble furiously "I'm never in time for the fun stuff! Face it, I'm a slow-mo!" Tails said walking away "Hey kid cheer up!" Sonic said worried "You're already the fastest two-tailed orange fox We know!" Brody said.

*Later at Robotnik's Fortress*

Robotnik got tired of always losing to Sonic and Brodys speed and decided to create a special gum called speedamint gum that could make anyone fast and decided to test it with Grounder on the forest but he ended up crashing and Robotnik told him to not lose the gum but he lost it.

Tails is running through the same forest "If I'm ever gonna be fast on my feet like Sonic and Brody, I gotta keep training! Sonic and Brody say, you gotta think fast, train fast, and be fast!" Tails said and ends up stepping on the speedamint gum sticking to his shoes sole and the effect takes place and starts running faster "Sonic and Brody were right! Training is really paying off!" Tails said happy running through the forest and screechs to a halt "This is great! I've gotta tell Sonic and Brody!" Tails said running up the hill as Sonic and Brody were running down the hill "Sonic! Brody!" Tails said but he bumps into them.

Sonic holds his head and so do Brody and Tails "What hit us?" Sonic and Brody ask "I did!" Tails said smiling "Stop kidding! Whatever that was, it was going like....uh" Sonic said "Us!" Brody said "It was me! Look!" Tails said running off then back to them "I got the speed! Sonic and Brody speed!" Tails said jumping up and down "That's amazing! I mean, uh, that's great! No uh" Sonic said and Brody lightly nudges him "What Sonic means is how did that happen?" Brody asks "Guess all that training paid off!" Tails said just then a train whistle can be heard "Watch, I'll race that train!" Tails said "No Tails, that's dangerous!" Brody said "Yeah don't you think you might be jumping the gun?" Sonic asks "Yeah! At last!" Tails said and runs away "Tails wait up!" Brody and Sonic said "Those are three words I thought we'd never hear ourselves say" Sonic said.

Tails caught up to the train and runs past it and stops at a distance "Awesome! Sonic, Brody, I'm waiting!" Tails said giggling tapping his foot but he stops giggling when his foot gets stuck in the rails "Uh-oh! I'm trapped!" Tails said as he can't pull his foot out and the train starts getting closer "I know! Sonic! Brody! Help!" Tails said as Sonic and Brody runs up to him "We'll get you out before you can shake a leg!" Sonic said "Of course , it would help if you could shake your leg" Brody said "Sonic get the train away from us while I help Tails" He said "Roger that!" Sonic said as he builds a bridge for the train to travel above Tails and Brody. Brody grabs a hold of Tails' leg.

"Tails, I think its great that you're fast now" Brody said "Thanks Brody!" Tails said "Just don't be in such a hurry to get yourself hurt! It's not enough to be fast, you have to learn to be good at fast and that takes time and practice, you can't rush it" Brody said pulling Tails' foot free.

*Later at the top of the hill*

"You know, kiddo, there's also a lot of responsibility to being fast" Brody said as the three were sitting in a picnic table "There, is?" Tails asks "Sure! It's not just for showing off, it's for doing good!" Sonic said and Tails points at them "But you guys show off" Tails said "yeah well... but only when we are doing good!" Brody said and Tails jumps onto the table "Then I'm gonna do good too!" Tails said "Atta boy!" Sonic and Brody said "Cause I got a lot of showing off to catch up on!" Tails said running away "Tails slow down! Okay I'm never gonna get use to saying that!" Brody said "Me neither!" Sonic said.

*Later*

Tails flies around looking for someone to help when a plane flies past him and he sees the hatch is open and a cat Daredevil jumps out of the plane "I knew there was trouble! Don't worry I'll save you!" Tails said flying to him "I beg you pardon, old chap?" Daredevil asks "Hang on!" Tails said "To what, old bean?" Daredevil asks "To me!" Tails said "I'll do nothing of the sort!" Daredevil said "Don't be nuts! I'm not gonna let you go splatola!" Tails said "You fool! Leave me be!" Daredevil said and Tails grabs his shoulder slowing his fall "I say, what are you doing?" Daredevil asks "I got ya!" Tails saud "D'oh, you pest you're ruining everything!" Daredevil said "Huh?" Tails asks as on the ground a target can be seen near a red arrow and two signs "This is the mobius international daredevil's competition!" Daredevil said "And I was winning the parachute freefall event but now you've made me lose!" He said as they land "Oh gee, sorry!" Tails said as people boo at Tails and he runs off as Sonic and Brody run in "Hi, any of you seen a little brown fox with two tails who's faster than the dickens?" Sonic asks "Yes, he only just ruined our entire event! Friend of his are you?" Daredevil asks making Sonic and Brody sweat nervously "Us, uh, friend if a little brown fox with, uh.... ah never heard of him!" Brody said as the duo runs away.

*At a desert*

"We gotta put the breaks on Tails before he makes any more enemies!" Sonic said when Brody's ear twitches "Shh" Brody said covering Sonic's mouth "mm?" Sonic asks and they find Scratch and Grounder talking about the gum, as they look for it Tails runs past them and they realise Tails has it so they chase after him "Speedmint gum, eh? So that's it!" Sonic said "Those robo-bums are after Tails! And he's gonna need us!" Brody said "If we can catch up to him that is" Sonic said as the two run off.

*Outside a cafe*

Tails was there and Scratch and Grounder trick him with Grounder disguised as a little girl saying a bad man in leather stole his lollipop  leaving him only the stick so Tails goes inside but Grounder says to the biker Tails stole his lollipop and the biker starts walking towards Tails and Tails it was Scratch and Grounder setting him up.

The biker charged at him grabbing Tails' shoe with the speedamint gum and tosses the shoe away as Tails falls off the stairs and trues to run but trips "Whoa! Ugh! What happened to my... my speed?" Tails asks and dodges a punch from the biker and knocks the motorcycles down like dominoes. The last one falls on Scratch and Grounder. The biker picks up the motorcycle "Hey! You're not a littke girl! Duh, you broke my motorcycle! I hate robots!" He said and beats up the badniks as Tails watches from the distance.

"Hey, kid!" Sonic and Brody said running up to Tails "Sonic! Brody!" Tails said "We came here to help you, Tails" Brody said "But I guess We got here a little late" Sonic said "And we hate when that happens!" Brody and Sonic said and Tails looks at Brody.

"I'm not fast anymore! I don't know what happened!" Tails said and Brody looks down seeing Tails isn't wearimg his left shoe "That you stepped in some gum" Brody said "Huh?" Tails asks confused "We'll explain it to you later" Sonic said and the three start to walk together across the desert.

"Sonic, Brody, how come when I got what I always wanted, more than anything else, everything went wrong?" Tails asks "Sometimes, you're just not ready for what you want most, but we bet you'll grow up and you'll be ready! You may even be fast as us!" Sonic said "I guess. No hurry, though!" Tails said "But evdn if you're never as fast as us, you're the greatest, kiddo! You're a great flyer, a great guy, a great kid, and above all, the greatest friend we could ever hope for!" Brody said and Sonic nodded "Thanks, Sonic and Brody!" Tails said as the three walk in the distance as this chapter comes to an end.
