An art Diary
Hey everyone sorry this took forever. I got this request a little over two weeks ago and it literally took me forever to write this, and I didn't finish proof reading because I have a lot to do and very little time so I'm sorry if the grammar is off. Anyways I hope you enjoy if you do vote and comment 💖
After Georgie leaves she sighs and Tessa looks at her. "What was Georgie talking about?" Tessa asks, as Lily sighs, "Just about how she didn't want me to talk about our childhood much." Lily says as Tessa looks to her in confusion, "Why, doesn't she trust me?" Tessa asks as Lily sighs, this was going to be a hard story to explain and Georgie would kill her later, but oh well she was used to being on Georgie's bad side by now.
"Of course she trusts you… she just doesn't like burdening people with it, and because she tries to block it out." Lily explains as Tessa still just looked at her in confusion. As Lily groans, "It will be easier to show it to you then to explain it." Lily says going to Georgie's room Tessa just followed her until Lily got to the drawer Georgie always kept locked, Lily knew what was in this drawer. It was Georgie's picture and videos from when they were growing up. Along with a few other things that she treasured when she was younger, she instantly knew the number lock because she had known Georgie her whole life and knew about everything about her.
"Lily, I don't think you're supposed to go through that drawer. Georgie made it very clear she wanted no one looking in this one." Tessa warns as Lily rolls her eyes. Of course she knew that, but she honestly didn't care, as most of them were shared memories since they live pretty close to each other and had a lot of adventures together.
"Well she'll have to deal with it. They're my memories too. And I haven't seen some of the things since the day she left Arizona." Lily says as she grabs the turquoise cheetah stuffed animal and throws it on Georgie beds as she finds the painted horse shoe. That Georgie had painted. "Hey Galaxy, help me out and find those DVDs please?" Lily asks her lizard who nods quickly, slipping through the stuff.
"Lily, what are you doing?" Tessa asks in confusion as she knew Georgie was going to be so mad when she got home, and she would have thought her other best friend would have known that, but the other brunette just continued to rifle through the stuff. With her lizard trying not to get smashed. "Lily I really don't feel comfortable with this." Tessa says Lily just rolls her eyes again.
"Good girl thanks Galaxy" Lily told her Gekko as she had found Georgie's sketch diary and the DVD of the horse competition they did when they were seventeen. Lily was glad to see it again. Georgie's beautiful sketches always made her day. She just flipped through the drawings before looking at Tessa, "Come on these will explain everything." Lily says walking towards the living room. Tessa follows her although this still felt wrong, her curiosity got the best of her. "When we were younger, Georgie used to want to be an artist so she drew anything and everything that inspired her. She never had a diary, but this is her sketch diary." Lily explains as Tessa nods in interest.
"I didn't know much until we met when we were six. We met at the drive in. My mother worked there, and I was too young to be alone so I had to go to the theater. Georgie was there with her mother and her mom made her come play with the other kids in front of the huge movie screen. Well I saw Ethan who was a mean bully back then. Picking on Georgie and I defended her she was so shy back then." Lily says as she pointed to the horrible looking doodle Georgie had done of them at the drive that day. The photo was labeled in sloppy handwriting as July 2, 2007.
"What about that one? Why are there snakes around both of you?" Tessa questions curiously as she didn't see snakes often. And the picture looked crazy since she had only seen one snake at a time. Lily just chuckles at Tessa's reaction; she must have never lived by the woods or in Arizona. As both Lily and Georgie used to run into snakes all the time, since they explored often, most of their home was in a rural area.
"Oh that one was fun, and Tessa we live in a rural part of Arizona snakes were part of our lives." Lily explains before going into the story, "This time I think we were nine apparently life was boring until then because she didn't document it. Anyways we were bored, and instead of letting me practice my stunts she suggested we go exploring. The snake depicts the two snakes we saw that day. Snakes use to scared Georgie so bad, but now she is used to it since we ended up seeing a lot in Arizona. Thankfully we had horses after this so we never had to worry about them biting us." Lily explains as she turns the page and chuckles at the drawing of horses before looking at one part of it sadly.
"This was the first time we met our horses. We had decided to take riding lessons since it was easier to ride places then to walk, and because it was a fun past time. There we met our Horses Nova, a scittish, but strong and beautiful horse, who belonged to Georgie, and Caramel, a headstrong horse that was always ready for an adventure. We also met someone who changed our lives forever. In fact if we never met him me and Georgie wouldn't be on the job path we are on. That's Mr. Terrance he owned the stables and was like a grandpa to us. I remember Georgie was so against the idea of riding at first, but as we grew she became the best rider around at least in our area."
Lily says as Mal comes out Auntie Tessa I bored." Mal says before noticing the drawing book that Lily was holding. "What's that?" She asks in confusion as she looks at the drawing as she loves art. Lily just smiles at the little girl. She was a little uncomfortable around kids as she didn't like kids very much, but respected Georgie's job and friends. She just turns the paper around.
"Oh do you like it, Georgie did these drawings when she was younger she has tons of them. In fact I think she used some skills to paint the playroom. I recognize her painting anywhere." Lily says as the room was teal, but the accents we're a dry grass green, and almost looked like the tumbleweeds they used to see at home.
"Weawy that's so cool!" Mal exclaims before looking at the art on the page making Lily laugh. At the memory of the golf cart. And Georgie getting all dirty. That had to be one of her favorite memories. Although Georgie was about to kill her that day.
"Oh that was the time we decided to try and drive a golf cart. Let's just say the battery ran out and Georgie had to push it all the way up the hill. About half way up I hit some button and it made it go faster. And I left Georgie in the dust. She was so, so mad. But it was also hilarious." Lily explains as Mal looks at her in confusion.
"What a golf cart?" Mal asks , making Lily smile as she strokes her lizard. She tried to think of a way to explain it to the child. Who looked at her innocently and curiously she was starting to see why Georgie liked kids so much. As Mal was very, very cute.
"A golf cart is like a car, but there's no seat belts and no doors. It's also electric." Lily says as Mal continued to look at the adult in confusion before nodding and starting to run off.
"That swounds cool. I got to go pway with Pumpkin now bwye" Mal says running back to the playroom making Lily chuckle as she turns the page of the dictionary looking at the pictures of the tent by the lake. This one wasn't a good or funny memory in fact she still despised Georgie's parents from that day.
"Well since Mal's gone what is this artwork about it looks different from the other? Why does it have all those emotions?" Tessa asks as Lily looks away for a moment. Lily didn't know how to explain this one. As Georgie always explained her ability with ease, but Lily always just called it the ability of getting into people and animal minds. Which she knew wasn't right. Georgie had explained it way too many times. Something about the ability to feel people's emotions?
"Um, this was back on Christmas break I think around six years ago. Georgie was thirteen and a half I had just turned thirteen. I remember Georgie was more tired as of lately, and a lot more irritable. Her father insisted on taking her out that day, and you have to remember Georgie's relationship with her parents was rocky. Well from what she told me is that while they were out they came upon an injured stray kitten. Her dad started kicking it and that made Georgie mad she eventually got him to stop and told him she would see him at home.
I came to the stable later that day to find her sitting in her horse's stall with the injured kitten beside her, and she was crying. Which she never did so it was worrying. Mr. Terrance had just gotten back with Buckwheat at this point and we both asked her what was wrong. She told us about how she's been feeling strange lately. And that it was almost like she would feel what people are feeling. Mr. Terrance then explains that there is an ability called empathy and that he knew Georgie had it. Long before she did. But that's not the end of the story. When her parents heard about it they had a fit and kicked her out of the house for the night so we ended up at the lake where we hung out all the time." Lily explains as Tessa smiles sadly at Lily as she knew this was getting harder for the slightly older girl to talk about.
"So that's why Georgie is so in tune with people's feelings why didn't she tell me?" Tessa asks. This makes Lily sigh as Georgie parents had nailed it in her head that no one would like her if they knew about her empathy. That no daughter of there's could have that curse.
"Georgie was shamed for it in our small town. People disliked people who were different so Georgie was never liked because they knew about her ability. So she learned to keep it to herself. She still hasn't got over the fact that her ability was given to her because one day she would be a therapy dog handler. She probably didn't tell you because she didn't want to drive you away or scare you." Lily explains as Tessa nods. As this was a lot to take in.
"What about this one? It's more recent it read four years ago, and Georgie looks excited and nervous. Tessa says as Lily smiles at the picture before grimacing at the afterthought and panics on Georgie's face when she gets the phone call afterwards.
"That was the best, and the worst day of our lives. After three years of trying to get us on a show Mr. Terrance had finally convinced Georgie and I to do a horse competition. We had just finished the school year, and we were trying to decide to do since we had the whole summer well Mr. Terrance, who was around 73, told us that he signed us up for it. Boy we were mad, but we went to it anyway because Mr Terrance insisted that he wasn't going to die before seeing us perform. We thought nothing of it back then as Mr. Terrance was always wanting us to perform so we just expected that he finally had enough of us dawdling.
That was far from it though, anyways I'll explain that part when it's time. Anyways the competition was in Phoenix which was about two hours away. I remember we were trying to decide if we should take a car or do the ride horseback and leave a couple days before, for we could camp out. Well we eventually made up our minds, and we took Mr. Terrance's truck since it was the one that had a hitch. Before we left Mr. Terrance stopped us, and gave us these" Lily says, pulling her necklace out of her shirt. The necklace was a rose gold color heart just like the one Tessa saw Georgie wear everyday for a long while.
"That looks like the one Georgie wears everyday." Tessa says as Lily nods looking at the locket on her own neck. The memory was still fresh in her mind although it had been three years. She then grabs the TV remote and puts the DVD in. As it was the competition.
"It's supposed to look that way. Mr. Terrance believed that Georgie's and I's friendship would never end. He said we made each other stronger and braver. So it was a mix between a locket and a friendship necklace. Let's just say he was right. It's been almost four years and we're still close although we live far away from each other.. I just put in a disk of what we recorded when we did the competition." Lily says as she hit play.
………
"Alright Lily and Caramel you're up next. Are you ready?" Georgie asks from her horse. Lily just looks at Georgie nervously. Her horse was prancing around nervously. Georgie just sighs. "Lily you'll do great barrel racing has always been your strong suit." Georgie says as Lily nods
I know Mary Poppins, hey do you have something in that bag of yours to make me less nervous." Lily asks as she knew Georgie had a lot of things. Georgie just shook her head as she looks at the locket she had on then to Lily's.
"Sadly I don't otherwise I would have used it, but hey I'll be right there watching you, and you better believe me and Nova will be ready to help you if something happens. Now get out there. The announcers are calling you." Georgie said nudging her friend before Nova head butts Caramel who trot
The timer started and Lily quickly made Caramel go. The duo made easy work of the barrels jumping and weaving through the barrels like they went through them every day. Soon they finished and came riding back out. "Boy that was nerve wracking Georgie did you see that?" Lily asks as Georgie nods.
"Yes, I did, you did amazing! I bet you at least got third place. Congratulations Lily, now I just got to do show jumping." Georgie says Lily recognizes Georgie's anxiousness. Nova seemed ready though. Although the horse was skittish she was a show off with Georgie on her.
"Don't worry about it even if you don't get it. That horse of your does you should see how confident she looks. Plus you're the one that always says trust your horse. Now you come on, your event is about to start." Lily says riding Caramel over to another ring Nova and Georgie following behind. "Alright G looks like your first you ready Lily asks as Georgie nods.
"Oh yeah, come on Nova let's do this. Just like at home." Georgie told the horse calmly. The horse just rears up before quickly entering. Georgie then looks to Nova "Alright girl let's do this!" Georgie says as they start. The jumps we're a bit higher then they were use to but Nova knew exactly what they were doing. After doing every jump with only one mess up. They rode back out. "Okay now that was terrifying!" Georgie says slowing Nova down.
"How you guys looked so comfortable with doing that!" Lily says as Georgie rolls her eyes, and Nova whinnies happily. "Well Nova really seemed to like it!" Lily says laughing at the happy horse that Georgie had ridden since she was nine.
"Good girl Nova here have an apple " Georgie says giving an apple to the horse. "You did amazing out there now come on let's go see who won." Georgie says as she saw the judges come to the stage which was really only just a raised piece of rotten wood..
………
"Congrats on third place Georgie. We did amazing today." Lily says as they ate their dinner. By their horses who were now resting beside them and a kitten between Georgie and Lily. Georgie just smiles at her friend.
"Well good job on getting fourth! Today was great, I guess Mr. Terrance was right that once we got going we would be fine. What do you think of Jenna?" Georgie asks, petting the cat who was beside her. That's when her phone rings. "It's Mr. Terrance. I better take this." Georgie tells Lily who nods.
"Wait what, okay um… we'll get there as soon as we can." Georgie says off the screen. And running up to Lily. "We have to go." Georgie says instantly mounting her horse. Jenna quickly jumped into the saddle bag. As Georgie looks to Caramel and Lily. "Lily I'm serious, turn the video off and let's go we need to go something happened with Mr. Terrance." Georgie says that's when the video ends.
………
"You two were really good riders, but what happened at the end of when you stopped recording?" Tessa asks Lily who just looks down stroking the heart necklace. Trying her best not to cry at the memory. As it was hard to remember, and even harder on Georgie who thought of Mr. Terrance as the father she would never have.
"Georgie got a phone call from Mr. Terrance's son. Mr. Terrance had gone into cardiac arrest while we were gone." Lily says take a long breath. "He didn't make it. His son who had come to visit said that he had heart disease for a long while. He also said that he died peacefully while watching the live broadcast of the competition we were in. It's like he knew that his time was short and why he pretty much forced us to go." Lily says with a sigh. "It was hard for two months. We had no idea who would take care of the horses and the cats. Ethan, Georgie, and I using most of our money we made from our summer jobs to feed the animals and keep them alive.
"It was not an easy time. We were mourning him and getting ready to go into senior year and no one wanted the stables. Georgie was trying to get another makeup job to pay for more things, but we lived in a small town so it wasn't easy to find work. Eventually I think around the middle of our last year of school and finally his granddaughter took over the stables for us. And we were able to focus more on school.
When we were in the last quarter of the school year Georgie applied for the job of the Cinderella play, and she told me she had gotten accepted. She also told me she was going to move to New York and that there was nothing for her in Arizona. I tried to convince her to stay, but she had already made up her mind and she said she wasn't going to come back. She promised me that she would always keep in touch though. Thankfully she did, and yeah that's basically all about our life." Lily says finishing up the long story. As she gathers the things up and hid back to Georgie's room to put them away.
"Wait, so Georgie doesn't want to go back to Arizona at all?" Tessa asks as Lily nods, putting the things in the right order forgetting about the turquoise cheetah stuffed animal on the bed. It had been hard on both her and Georgie and she didn't blame Georgie at all for not coming back. The cats and the horses did miss her though.
"No, she doesn't. Too much has happened there. She also doesn't want to see her parents ever again. Again she has too many bad memories of that place. She finally found where she belongs here. I haven't seen her so happy. She actually has two sweet dogs a job she adores that she can use all her talents for, and she doesn't have to worry about what she'll come home to. I am trying to convince her to come home though Nova really misses her. So do the barn cats Binx and Jenna." Lily says as Tessa nods.
"I get that Georgie probably told you a lot about me, but I was a modern day Cinderella, and my stepmom treated me like a servant, and if I wanted my dad's repair shop I had to do what she said until I was eighteen. I then met Georgie and instantly she changed my life. She showed me what freedom looked liked, and helped me gain the confidence to perform. She helped me with changing my appearance, and it worked. I even met my boyfriend Reed from that whole experience.
Afterwards I finally met my real family and Mal. My life wouldn't be where it was without her. And I'm so grateful for her. I didn't know what made her who she was though. I didn't realize just how much she went through to get where she was." Tessa says as Lily nods.
"We all have our struggles, but we overcome them. I remember when we were at the lowest of lows We we're about to give up when Mr. Terrance reminded us that people have gone through worse, and they still rose to the occasion. I also remember what he told Georgie when her empath abilities started to show. He said, "Part of empathy is feeling what another person feels. Now this comes naturally to you, and you should use it to help others. There are so many others like you and Lily. They don't get a chance to discover who they truly are. Who may not have a friend, or an adventure they would like to go on. Who doesn't know what "freedom is, and how much possibility it can be. That's one of the things Georgie lives by which is why she volunteers often. She wants to help others like Mr. Terrance helped us." Lily explains as Tessa nods.
"Well she really is doing a good job. She sure has changed Elena's, Nathan's, Emma's, Mina's, and Matt's life, and countless others and she does it without getting much of anything in return. She just asks for a day of complete peace and quiet once in a while. Tessa says Lily nods.
"Yeah, Georgie still gets overstimulated sometimes. It's just part of having her ability. It's not as bad as it use to be, but she's also not living with her parents anymore which caused a lot more problems. I've learned that when she's overstimulated she usually locks all the doors and completely powers down her phone. And mostly just stays in her room reading since she doesn't have a horse to ride anymore." Lily explains as she remembered Georgie did that a lot in their teenage years
"Yeah…" Tessa started before hearing the door unlock Lily just looked at her. As she didn't want Georgie to know she had went through her things or told Tessa everything. Georgie was going to be so mad if she realized.
"Act like I didn't tell you anything otherwise I'm going to be dead." Lily says. Tessa nods as she didn't want Georgie to get mad either. Georgie hadn't ever gone off on her, but she had seen it done to so many others, and she didn't feel like being the one getting yelled at. So she was willing to keep quiet about it.
"Hey guys we're back sorry it took so long someone stopped us and started talking, and you know how that goes when your me." Georgie says coming in the door with Mira who instantly runs to the playroom to make sure Mal and Pumpkin didn't destroy anything. Georgie quickly puts the food away before heading to her room to take her shoes off. She quickly noticed her stuffed cheetah on the bed and groans. "Lily there's a reason there's a lock on that drawer!" Georgie calls out grabbing the small stuffed animal and heading to the living room.
Lily just tried to act as innocently as she could, "What do you mean I never did anything like that." Lily tries to convince, but Georgie just rolls her eyes at the slightly younger girl. She would have thought Lily would have figured out that Georgie would always figure out when Lily did something. That's when Lily notices Georgie stuffed animal. Crap she forgot about the toy!
"Tell that to Speckles, how much did you tell Tessa, and don't you like you know I'm a human lie detector" Georgie says jokingly as Lily grins at least her friend didn't seem like she was going to kill her. Usually Lily would be trying to get Georgie to stop yelling at her, but Georgie seemed relatively calm.
"Half of it." Lily says just to see if Georgie was going to notice her lie. Georgie just rolls her eyes again. She knew Lily was lying, but she was honestly glad to just see her friends face to face so she would let it slide this time. Although she was mad that Lily did the exact opposite of what she had been told to do.
"You're lucky it's been a while since we saw each other." Georgie says as she chucks something at Lily who quickly snags the blue thing. "Keep that with you unlike Arizona, New York actually gets rains. A lot more than New York." Georgie warns as Lily nods looking at the tarp. That Georgie had given her before getting a text message.
"Well it was great seeing you G. And it was great to finally meet you Tessa, but Ethan is here to pick me up. So I better go. I'll call you tomorrow." Lily says. Georgie and Lily then hugged each other, and Lily left. Georgie sighs and looks to Tessa.
"I'm going to work in my room for a bit. I'll come out and make some dinner later." Georgie says as Tessa nods still thinking about what Lily had told her. As Georgie went into her room to destress as she was angry at Lily even if she did let it slide this time. She loved her friend but she wished she would respect her wishes once in awhile. Georgie had no idea how much Tessa knew, but she hoped it wasn't much she didn't need any sympathy. She needed to help Mal and Tessa. Yes, her past was hard and she was still getting over parts of it, but she didn't want Tessa to think about her differently because of it.
